The betrayal slowed them down — but it didn’t stop them.

Bella, Luke, Richard, Elise, Maya, and Bella’s mother finally reached her old school, following the clues her father left behind.

But Delgado was already there.

His men surrounded the building before they even stepped inside.

Luke grabbed Bella’s hand.

Richard shouted for everyone to run.

Elise fought off the first attacker.

Bella’s mother screamed her name.

And when Bella was dragged away from Luke — kicking, crying, calling his name — the world shattered.

Because Delgado didn’t want the list.

He wanted her.

Episode 14 begins.

⭐ Episode 14 — The Rescue

Word Count: ~1,700 words

The car sped through the night, headlights slicing through the darkness. Bella sat in the backseat between Luke and Elise, clutching her notebook like a lifeline. Richard drove with fierce determination. Maya held Bella’s mother’s hand, whispering prayers.

Twenty‑four hours.

That was all they had.

And Delgado already knew where they were going.

⭐ Arriving at the School

Bella’s old school looked abandoned — dark windows, peeling paint, rusted gates. But Bella felt something familiar tug at her chest.

“This is where Dad hid it,” she whispered.

Luke squeezed her hand. “Then we’ll find it.”

Elise scanned the area. “Stay alert. Delgado won’t wait.”

Richard unlocked the gate. “Everyone stay close.”

They stepped inside.

The air was cold.

Still.

Too quiet.

Bella whispered, “I remember this place…”

Luke smiled softly. “Show us.”

Bella led them toward the old playground — the swings, the slide, the sandbox. Her father used to bring her here after school.

She stopped at the sandbox.

“This,” she whispered. “This is where he told me stories.”

Elise knelt beside her. “Look for symbols. Drawings. Anything familiar.”

Bella opened her notebook and flipped to the first page — the drawing of a woman holding a baby, with the circle and three lines in the corner.

She looked at the sandbox.

And froze.

The same symbol was carved into the wooden frame.

Bella gasped. “It’s here.”

Luke knelt beside her. “Bella… you found it.”

Richard whispered, “Start digging.”

Bella reached into the sand.

Her fingers hit something solid.

A metal box.

⭐ The Box

Bella pulled it out, trembling. The box was small, rusted, and locked with a simple latch.

Elise whispered, “Open it.”

Bella hesitated — then lifted the latch.

Inside was a folded piece of paper.

Bella’s breath caught.

She unfolded it.

Her father’s handwriting.

“Bella, if you’re reading this… I’m sorry.”

Bella’s tears fell instantly.

Luke held her shoulder.

She continued reading.

“I couldn’t protect you from Delgado. But I could protect what mattered most — the truth.”

Bella whispered, “Dad…”

She kept reading.

“The list is not what Delgado thinks. It’s not names. It’s not betrayal. It’s proof.”

Elise frowned. “Proof of what?”

Bella read the next line.

“Proof of what Delgado did to your mother.”

Bella froze.

Her mother gasped. “No…”

Bella’s hands shook violently.

Luke whispered, “Bella… breathe.”

Bella read the final line.

“Find the truth. And forgive me.”

Bella sobbed.

⭐ Delgado Arrives

A voice echoed behind them.

“How touching.”

Everyone turned.

Delgado stood near the swings, hands in his pockets, smiling.

Bella’s mother screamed. “No!”

Luke pulled Bella behind him. “Stay back!”

Richard stepped forward. “You followed us.”

Delgado shrugged. “Of course I did.”

Elise growled, “You’re not getting her.”

Delgado smirked. “I already have.”

He snapped his fingers.

His men emerged from behind the trees.

Three.

Five.

Seven.

Surrounding them.

Bella trembled. “Luke…”

Luke held her hand. “I’m here.”

Delgado stepped closer. “Bella… give me the box.”

Bella shook her head. “No.”

Delgado smiled. “Then I’ll take it.”

⭐ The Attack

Everything happened at once.

One of Delgado’s men lunged at Richard.

Another grabbed Maya.

A third rushed toward Bella.

Luke punched the man grabbing Bella, knocking him backward. Elise kicked another attacker. Richard fought two at once. Bella’s mother screamed for help.

Bella tried to run — but a man grabbed her arm.

She screamed. “LUKE!”

Luke turned — but another attacker tackled him to the ground.

Bella was dragged away, kicking, crying, calling Luke’s name.

“LUKE! LUKE!”

Luke fought violently, breaking free, sprinting toward her.

But Delgado stepped in front of him.

Luke skidded to a stop.

Delgado smirked. “You’re brave. But not fast enough.”

Bella screamed. “Luke!”

Luke shouted, “BELLA!”

Two men lifted Bella off the ground.

She kicked.

She fought.

She cried.

But they didn’t let go.

⭐ The Rescue

Elise grabbed a fallen flashlight and smashed it into one attacker’s head. Richard tackled another. Maya threw sand into a man’s eyes. Bella’s mother hit another with her bag.

Luke broke free and sprinted toward Bella.

He grabbed her arm.

The attacker pulled harder.

Bella screamed. “Luke!”

Luke shouted, “I’ve got you!”

He pulled with everything he had.

Bella fell into his arms.

Luke held her tightly. “I’ve got you. I’ve got you.”

Delgado watched, expression unreadable.

⭐ Delgado’s Warning

Delgado stepped closer.

“You found the box,” he said. “Good.”

Bella held it tightly. “You’re not getting it.”

Delgado smiled. “You think you understand what’s inside?”

Bella trembled. “It’s proof. Proof of what you did.”

Delgado nodded. “Yes. And that’s why I want it.”

Luke growled, “You’re not touching her.”

Delgado smirked. “You can’t protect her forever.”

Bella whispered, “I don’t need forever. I just need today.”

Delgado’s smile faded.

He looked at Bella — really looked — and said quietly:

“You’re becoming your father.”

Bella swallowed hard. “No. I’m becoming myself.”

Delgado nodded once.

“Then let’s see how far you’re willing to go.”

He turned and walked away.

His men followed.

Leaving the family shaken, bruised, terrified — but together.

⭐ The Final Moment

Bella collapsed into Luke’s arms, crying. “He almost took me…”

Luke held her tightly. “But he didn’t.”

Richard leaned against the sandbox, exhausted. “We need to leave. Now.”

Elise nodded. “Before he comes back.”

Bella looked at the box.

Her father’s message.

Her father’s truth.

Her father’s final plea.

She whispered:

“I’m not letting him win.”

Luke kissed her forehead. “We won’t.”

Bella nodded.

“Let’s finish this.”

⭐ End of Episode 14

The attack intensifies.
