– Tuloy ang road trip ni Maya at Ricky. They showed Fort Ilocandia Resort and Casino.

– At the Lims house, the twins are playing in the backyard with Graco, Yaya Doris, and Yaya Lea. Manang Fe and Joma are there too. MF is happy because she can see that Doris loves the Lim family the way she loved them, Lea is doing okay with her new employer, and Marco is with Joma every weekend.

Sabel is late because she just came from the hospital. She just screamed and everyone screamed with her. Alam na nila even without words that Sabel is expecting. Even Sunshine joined in the screaming and group hug. Si Sky deadma lang, tuloy ang laro.

– Hiking sila Richard at Maya.

Maya: (She got a text message and yelled out) Buntis?? Buntis!!!
Richard: You don’t have to shout sweetheart. I know you were pregnant then.
Maya: Sweetheart, hindi. Hindi ako ang buntis. Si Sabel. Si Sabel yong buntis.
Richard: Really. (Richard calls Sabel). Sabel, congratulations.
Maya: Sabel, naku, mag-chikahan tayo pag-uwi namin ha.
Sabel: Thank you po, Mr & Mrs Chief.

– Richard continues to smiling, yong smile na parang may naaalalang nakakatawa. He recalls noong naglilihi si Maya at gustong gusto ang pancit canton na luto niya, noong nagising siya habang hinahakbangan siya ni Maya. Inakbayan na lang ang asawa at tuloy ang hiking nila.

Maya: Sweetheart, sorry ha, noong nagbubuntis ako, pinahirapan kita.
Richard: You have nothing to be sorry about. I enjoyed every minute of it. (Richard recalls the time he bought crabs and cooking it for Maya). You think it’s time we have another baby?
Maya: Bakit hindi? Hindi na naman madalas ang flight ko ngayon dahil sa bago kong position. Kaya mas may oras na ako sa mga bata. Puwede na nating sundan si Sky at si Sunshine.

Richard: Great!! (He lunged towards Maya to give her a kiss, but Maya stopped him)
Maya: Opps, opps,opps, sandali lang. May mga tao. Nakakahiya naman baka may makakita sa atin, sweetheart.
Richard: See those windmills, sweetheart? (Richard holds Maya’s face.) YOU ARE THE WINDMILL OF MY LIFE. YOU GIVE MY WINGS THE WIND BENEATH TO MAKE ME FLY. Kiss sila.

Gap 3
– Richard thought of a new scenario on how they would meet. Hindi gumulong ang bote ng bagoong. Tuloy ang paglakad ni Maya sa Jones Bridge at dinaanan lang siya ni Ricky.
Maya: Eh, dinaanan mo lang ako. Paano tayo magkikita?
Richard: Something would have happened to me. I was so pissed off that night. Mainit ang ulo ko. (Eto ang naisip ni Richard. At the foot of the bridge when he turned right, another car cut in front of him. Both Richard and other driver got out of their cars and exchanged angry words. Maya saw the incident and scurried away from it.)
Maya: Sweetheart, kung nakita ko man na may nag-aaway doon, sa palagay mo ba makikiosyoso ako doon? Eh, bagong salta ako sa Maynila, siyempre di na ko makikiusisa doon.
Richard: Hindi ba?
Maya: Hindi. At saka may iba kasi rin akong iniisip noon eh.
Richard: Didiretso ka pa rin kahit na nakita mong nakipagtalo ako doon sa driver?
Maya: Siyempre.
Richard: Well that not the end of the story yet then. (Richard was still arguing with the other driver who just left Richard. Richard got back to his car and drove off.)
Maya: Nakalayo na ako noon. Hindi mo na ako makikita.
Richard: Yon ang akala mo. (Richard drove off and hit a mud puddle. Mud splashed on Maya’s leg. Richard stopped his car, backed up, and got out).

Maya: Grabe naman, hindi mag-ingat.
Richard: Miss, I’m sorry.
Maya: Sorry…. (Ayan natulala si Maya kay Richard). Ano natulala na ako, nabasa pa ako. Sa palagay mo hindi ako magagalit?
Richard: Sweetheart, natulala ka sa kagwapuhan ko.
Maya: Eh, paano kung hindi mo na ako nakita noon dahil sumakay ako ng jeep dahil busy ka doon sa nakabanggaan mo.

Richard: We would have still met at the airport. Sa Seafare Airlines.
Maya: Eh paano kung hindi ako nag-apply?
Richard: You were working at the airport at that time. Makikita mo si Abby and you will save her. So magkikita at magkikita pa rin tayo.
Maya: Eh paano kung….(Ricky gave Maya a shut-up kiss)

Richard: Sweetheart, we were destined to meet each other. So kahit ikot-ikutin mo pa ang nangyari sa past, magkikita at magkikita pa rin tayo.
Maya: I love you, sweetheart. (Inabot na sila ng sunset sa ridge.)

– Maya and Richard arrived home. Sinalubong na sila ng mga bata, kasambahay, MF, and MA.
Maya: Oh, eto na ang mahiwagang tanong. Anong oras ang party?
Nikki: Dad? You told her?
Richard: Eh, ang kulit eh. I didn’t tell her everything.
Nikki: Ok, ok. Anyway Mom, you are so going to love this.
Luke: Opo Mommy, but for now magpahinga muna kayo para ready na kayo sa party mamaya.
Maya: Hindi nyo kailangan ang tulong ko?
Nikki: No Mom, everything is prepared.

– Pasok na sila sa bahay.

Gap 4
– Richard and Maya on the way to the party for Maya. Ang gwapo ni Richard sa black with thin white strips shirt. Ang ganda ni Maya sa off the shoulder white shift dress. Maya: Sweetheart, excited na ako. Ano ba kasi ang ikaka-surprise ko? Richard: Basta! You’ll love it.

– They entered the room full of people yelling surprise and singing happy birthday to Maya. Richard: We have gathered all the people who have been part of your dream. (Talagang all-star cast naroroon).
– Luke presented Maya her cake, and she made a wish before blowing the candle. (Ano kaya ang wish niya?)

– Maya went around and greet each one of her guests: The Lim kids, Ma and Pa Lim, the Dela Rosas, Simon (ay sa Singapore na pala nagtratrabaho si Simon), Aling Ebing and other neighbors in San Nicolas, Lino with Lindsay, Bugoy, Millie, Manang Fe, Mang Anastacio, Doris, Sabel, Joma, Lea, Ms. Pachecho, Ms. Calandra, Edsylin, Emman the roomie, Joshua, Wilson, Nicolo, Louie, Inigo, Engr Yamaguchi, Sonny, Minerva, Atty Ryan, her OB, the kids pediatrician, 3 ladies I can’t remember who, Tatang Julio, and Raffi.

– Speeches na. Si Kute muna: Alam nyo po, itong si Maya, ibang klaseng tao po sya. Ako po masasabi ko na wala siyang katulad. Kapag mahal ka nya, ibibigay nya sa yo lahat. Naririyan siya parati para sa yo. Hindi ka nya iiwanan. Parati siyang nakakapit. Minsan nga, yong pagkakataon na itunutulak ko na siya papalayo, ayaw pa rin. Parang glue kung makadikit. Ngayong birthday mo, gustong malaman mo na mahal na mahal kita at sobrang swerte ko kasi ikaw ang naging kapatid ko.

– Next si Nanay Tere: Ako masasabi ko na napaka-swerte kong ina dahil nagkaroon ako ng mga anak katulad ni Cristina Rose at Maya. Ikaw (looking at Kute) na nagiging sandigan namin kung kinakailangan Cristina Rose. (Looking at Maya) Anak, salamat ha, binuo mo ulit ang pamilya natin. Hindi siya tumigil. Hindi siya sumuko dahil ganoon siyang klaseng magmahal. Walang sukuan. Maraming maraming salamat, anak. I love you, anak.

– Abby is next: Nagpapasalamat po ako dahil napunta po sa buhay namin si Mommy at hindi na po naging masungit si Daddy. Kuya Luke, Ate Nikki, Sky, Sunshine we are very lucky to have her. Happy birthday Mommy.
– Next is Richard: A few year ago, my life was a mess. I was so grumpy and my relationship with my kids was so hopeless until Maya came along. She made me a better person and better father, and I could not live my life without her. I love you, sweetheart.

– Now it’s Maya’s turn: Best actress na naman di ba? Sandali, time first. Time out lang sandali. Puedeng bang tubig muna? (Kute gave her a glass of water). Salamat sa lahat na naki-celebrate sa amin. Thank you. Thank you talaga sa inyong lahat. Siguro, pagkatapos ng araw na ito, matagal tagal bago ulit tayo magkasamasama uli ng kumpleto. Pero hindi man tayo magkitakita, sa puso ko’y di kayo mawawala dahil yon sa magkakapit-bisig tayo sa buhay. At hindi lang yon, parte na rin kayo ng pamilya namin at iyon naman ang importante di ba? Yon naman yong mahalaga, yong mga taong mahal natin, yong mga tinuturing nating pamilya. At kung ano man ang dumating sa buhay natin, naniniwala ako na yong magandang pagsasamahan natin, sapat na yon para magdala ng ngiti sa mga puso natin. Maraming maraming salamat sa inyo.

Misinterpreted ko ang live simulcast na yan. Sa TFC.tv lang pala via the internet. Not to TFC television subscriber. Naka panood ng LS pero late na ako nakapasok. At malabo pa ang LS. Hindi ko marinig ang episode dahil parang ang layo ng speakers.

THE CAST WATCHING THE FINALE/PROGRAM

To all my classmates here at sa lahat ng bumubuo ng bcwmh maraming salamat sa almost 2 years and 4 months na masayang samahan you’d been part of my daily routine and made my heart always happy and looking forward for something positive.. Well I’m happy na some of the cast will have their own projects soon but iba kasi yun samahan dito. Parang ulam na if you omit one, kulang na sa timpla. Ganyan ang samahan nila. Yes we swoon over sc and we feel the kilig and positivity of Maya but every member of the cast made an impact – whether the household help, the nosy neighbors of san nicolas, the fa’s, the employees of las and lai (gwapo nga ni gutierrez, very loyal si liza at lovable si yamaguchi, sonny, minerva and atty ryan), the staff of chibugan and dampa, even the kontrabidas (stephanie, celeste, gie- whose names are even used to give life to the third-party characters of the many fanfics of the talented writers out there), to cut it short, every part of the show – story, cast, writers, cinematography is equally important and loved by us viewers. i just hope the management is wise enough to not totally abandon the show which gave us much hope, good vibes and happiness and most specially showcased the positive traits of filipinos which we could be proud of and show the world. sabi nila sobra naman daw perfect hindi naman ganun sa reality, well sakin its attainable, its very much possible. sa maliliit na bagay na ginagawa na natin dahil napulot natin sa show, malaking bagay na yun to make ourselves better.

I noticed that parang may paramdam ng book 2 1st *** sinabi ni Maya na pwede ng sundan ang kambal 2nd was Ricky’s mention of the silver wedding anniversary at Paoay church 3rd was the church wedding of Nanay Teresita and Tatay Arturo. Is it just me? Sobra lang siguro ako umaasa na may book 2

Here’s a grand farewell to the teleserye that has touched the hearts of so many kapamilyas all over the world.

..and aside from the show, I will surely miss the night classes and bantering here in PEx, I may not have met in person any of you pero yung saya and ngiti hindi matatawaran… thankie…

‘Be Careful With My Heart’s’ contribution to TV tradition

MANILA, Philippines – In an era where teleseryes only last for a few months or are easily axed if not rating, “Be Careful With My Heart” is an exception.

It lorded over the morning block since its release two years ago, and it seemed to have reclaimed for the Philippine soap opera its traditional form—as one which easily relates to a domestic (and yes, female) market by way of what it calls a “feel good” tenor, and also, as one which practically grew into a successful franchise because of its following.

I have never seen anything like Be Careful With My Heart in the last 30 years of the Philippine soap opera, which we call in my elective class at the Ateneo de Manila University as the “Teleserye”. The mornings towards lunchtime used to be known as one uneventful block, save for some special cases and mostly children’s shows. Be Careful, I dare say, gathered once again, the primary audiences of the block time for a treat of wholesome kilig and a story that returns to a theme long eschewed from—that of Filipino family life tackled in lightness.
I say eschewed because our teleseryes today have depicted the family in often heavier dramatic situations: the more popular infidelity soaps, for one, feature the family in disarray, and all sorts of dysfunction, which is taboo. While infidelity soaps like The Legal Wife, and even the recently concluded Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real, boldly attempted to transcend the hysterics of washing dirty laundry, Be Careful offered a romantic plot that took its sweet time to flourish.

Not that it really dragged on (though some skeptics believe that the story should have ended with the wedding of Maya and Sir Chief, which, like most events in the story, took time to be fulfilled). Time is of the element here as Be Careful indeed returned to the old soap opera’s temporal conventions—like random, chronological time, events in the soap developed into several climaxes, and the romance between the airline magnate and the probinsiyana stewardess had to be carefully built up.

The build up, fortunately, was compelling enough, and the return to the old mode was a risk to take in the time of fast-paced, tightly narrated teleseryes. It almost felt like Be Careful would never end. Be Careful returned to the Philippine soap opera conventions of Flordeluna, Annaliza, Agila, Valiente, and even Villa Quintana, Mara Clara, and Mula sa Puso.

I wrote about Be Careful in a weekly magazine last February, Valentine’s season, and I examined its being phenomenal. I thought about kilig, that loving energy exuded by the pair of Richard Yap and Jodi Sta. Maria, who I believe should be given more airtime, being a powerful actress.

Be Careful would easily remind us of Hollywood’s Made in Manhattan, but it proves to be of an authentic Filipino origin, because of another aspect of plot deemed timeless in our culture: the aspiration of the probinsiyana to (and in this case, literally and figuratively) fly.

Unlike many probinsiyanas depicted in our popular culture, Jodi’s Maya is street smart and spontaneous. People easily resonated with her dreams, as well as her plight, because she was believable. The widower Richard, on the other hand, represented a man who would readily give everything for his family. It was a match made in heaven, though the romance didn’t immediately manifest. The soap took its time to grow the love, and it was a good thing that time was indeed Be Careful’s friend.

This love that took time to blossom created the wholesome kilig affect that is quite missed, apparently, in current soap operas.

Some viewers may find it exhilarating to see Be Careful finally come to a close. After all, the nation had already seen enough of not only the prolonged blossoming of romance of the protagonists, despite their given differences, but also their braving the odds to keep a family.

We have seen it all with Sir Chief and Maya, from womb (the birth of the twins) to tomb (Divina Valencia’s sudden death). But I’m also sure that it won’t be the same for some who were so glued to the story, which might also be theirs.

However, what we may conclude in this much-talked about conclusion is this: that this soap opera has dared to tap into Filipino cultural lightness, as a means to veer way from the heavy drama of contemporary teleseryes. This lightness, this comic belief, needs to be explored more in the Philippine teleserye, which today seems to be only laden with acute melancholy, aside from the usual formulaic modes. The world is still beautiful, and the teleserye, as new literature, may become a means of re-exploring the native comic imagination.

And this, I think, is the humble contribution of Be Careful With My Heart in the teleserye tradition.

Gap 2

Richard: Remember the time when we said our first I love yous?

Maya: Oo, sweetheart, yong pareho tayong nadulas noon.

Richard: The truth is ikaw lang ang nadulas. Sinadya ko yon eh. I really wanted to say I love you and I wanted to hear you say it too.
(Richard recalls the conversation and apparently when he left the place and got into his car, he pumped his fists and said yes, yes, yes!)

Maya: Sweetheart, bakit parang ang dami mo pang hindi sinasabi sa akin?

Richard: Eh, nahihiya ako eh. Baka isipin mo pa ang corny ko.

Maya: Sweetheart, anong corny doon? Eh halos mamatay na ko sa kilig
dito.
Richard: Eh gusto mo pang mamatay sa kilig?

Maya: Ano mayroon pa?

Richard: There is another one. Pero mas corny ito eh.

Maya: OK lang, sanay na naman ako sa kakornihan mo eh.

Richard: Ay, huwag na nga lang.

Maya: O sige. Joke lang, joke lang. Hindi na corny. Gusto kong marinig. Ano yon?

Richard: Remember Luke’s prom. (Maya nodded. Richard recalls taking Maya’s picture without her knowledge)

Maya: Eh sinabi mo na yon sa akin, sweetheart. Kaya alam ko na yan.

Emotions poured in Be Careful with My Heart’s finale episode

In Be Careful with My Heart’s finale episode, Manang Fe expressed how happy she is for the household helpers, Doris, Lea, Joma and Sabel, who announced her pregnancy.

Richard and Maya, who were still in the province, congratulated Sabel and thought that it is about time that they have another baby. Maya said that she will have more time for the kids now because of her new position at work.

The couple continued to reminisce their romantic moments and Maya discovered how much more Richard loves her. They recalled the first time they told each other, “I love you” to which Richard admitted to have done on purpose just so he could hear her say it. Further, he admitted kissing Maya’s wallpaper on his phone which had Maya giggling with joy.

Meanwhile at the Dela Rosa household, Teresita told Arturo how fulfilled she is that despite their struggles, they are still together as a family. Arturo whispered something to Teresita that made her emotional as they hugged each other tightly. Kute and Cho caught them and they all started tickling each other.

Back to the Lim couple, Maya wondered if they would still meet should the “bagoong” bottle did not roll. Richard, believing that they are destined to be together, told her instances where they would still do.

Back in Manila, Maya told the kids that she already knew about their planned birthday party for her. However, she still got surprised to see her whole family, friends and workmates in her 30th birthday celebration. Special people who have been part of her life were there.

Teresita, Kute, Abby and Richard were emotional as they give their messages for the birthday girl. Maya, in tears, said that even though they will not see each other soon, they will always be in her heart.

Kute and Maya sang the “Kapit-Bisig” song. The whole households of the Lim and the Dela Rosas came onstage and joined in singing, as well.

Meanwhile in Be Careful’s Global-Kapit Bisig Day, Richard and Maya, in behalf of the whole cast, thanked everyone for supporting the show and owe it to the televiewers their accomplishments. ABS CBN Channel Head Cory Vidanes and TV Production Head Laurenti Dyogi congratulated them onstage while the people behind the show were acknowledged as well.

“Wala na kaming ibang masasabi kung hindi nagpapasalamat lang talaga kami, taos puso kaming nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng mga taong sumuporta at tumangkilik sa Be Careful with My Heart. Kung naging inspirasyon po kami sa inyo, naging inspirasyon din po kayo sa amin,” said Jodi Sta. Maria who played the role of Maya.

Meanwhile, Richard Yap who played Ser Chief’s role said, “Maraming salamat nga sa lahat ng sumuporta sa amin but this is not goodbye. This is the beginning of something new and something better, I’m sure. Who knows, magkita-kita kami ulit so we’ll see you soon.”

Who would have thought that a simple fairytale-like love story like Be Careful With My Heart, topbilled by an experimental love team and aired in a morning timeslot, would turn out to be one of the most loved, highest-rated, longest-running daytime drama series in the history of Philippine TV?

Jodi Sta. Maria said one reason for the show’s success was because viewers were able to identify themselves and their loved ones.

“Audiences saw how Maya and Ser Chief changed and improved their lives by staying positive, working hard and being united with the family,” she said.

Jodi added that people could relate to characters’ struggles and how they overcame the hindrances.

“Just like ordinary people, our characters faced trials and challenges. Maya worked hard to fulfill her dream of becoming a flight attendant. And when Ser Chief’s aviation company was in trouble, he became strong because of his supportive family,” Jodi said.

Viewers also witnessed how the Maya-Ser Chief couple filled daytime TV with their “moments of love and happiness,” initially as employee and boss, then as sweethearts, couple, and until they became parents to Luke (Jerome Ponce), Nikki (Janella Salvador), Abby (Mutya Orquia) and to their twins Sky and Sunshine (Jeo Angelo Arquines and Elisha Maurice delos Santos).

According to Richard Yap, the cast and crew are inspired by the positive comments they receive from viewers from all walks of life.

“Our loyal viewers abroad also tell us that they feel less homesick because it’s like they see their own families every time they watch us. When we’re tired, we just think of the many people here and abroad who tell us how the show has touched their lives and even uplifted them spiritually,” he said.

Even Jodi confessed that since she became part of the top-rating Kapamilya romantic series, she became more positive about life and thankful to God for all the blessings that come into her life.

The New York Festivals-nominated series became such a big hit that it has generated several milestones for the show and the cast, including two official soundtrack albums, special magazines and DVDs, a line of merchandise, a series of jam-packed local and international concert tours and an anniversary concert at the Araneta Coliseum.

To bring back all the love to the Kapamilya viewers and netizens who supported the show through the years, ABS-CBN has set a Global Kapit-Bisig Day today for everyone to unite and celebrate the ‘happy ever after’ of Maya and Ser Chief’s love story.

“We want to give our audience an ending that will make them happy. We want them to see and feel that Be Careful With My Heart is a story of every Filipino. Global Kapit-Bisig Day is for everyone who joined Maya and Ser Chief in their two-year journey,” said ABS-CBN business unit head Ginny Monteagudo-Ocampo.

Richard: Yon ang akala mo. (Richard drove off and hit a mud puddle.

Mud splashed on Maya’s leg. Richard stopped his car, backed up, and got out).

Maya: Grabe naman, hindi mag-ingat.

Richard: Miss, I’m sorry.

Maya: Sorry…. (Ayan natulala si Maya kay Richard). Ano natulala na ako, nabasa pa ako. Sa palagay mo hindi ako magagalit?

Richard: Sweetheart, natulala ka sa kagwapuhan ko.

Maya: Eh, paano kung hindi mo na ako nakita noon dahil sumakay ako ng jeep dahil busy ka doon sa nakabanggaan mo.

Record-setting ‘teleserye’ ends on a (happy) high

Last Wednesday, two days before it ended its record-setting, two-year run, we caught the hit late-morning teleserye, “Be Careful With My Heart”—and we found it an unusual viewing experience.

Here’s why: Most teleseryes about to wrap up their storytelling make it a point to pile one stressful penultimate conflict and extreme danger on top of another, in order to end on a hysterically melodramatic high.

—On the other hand, the concluding “Be Careful” appeared to avoid all possible problems, and instead focused on a series of happy events in its resident family’s existence!

For instance, Ser Chief not just succeeded in overcoming his financial and business crises, but hundreds of his former employees even signed a petition to urge him to lead their airline company again!
For her part, Maya got a promotion, and the kids in the show were doing very well in school, and in their romantic relationships. —And the little girl who couldn’t even talk due to her psychological problems at the start of the series was now cheerfully yakking away—and Top One in her class!

The huge contrast between this daytime series’ conclusion and the turgidly convoluted finales of other drama shows provides a telling clue to explain why it’s been the most popular series on the tube for so long:

From the get-go, while the show did introduce some problematic situations for its characters to resolve, its main thrust was generally removed from harsh reality, and focused more on fantasy, and the fulfillment of its target viewers’ escapist desires!

To start with, its female protagonist started out as a yaya, but slowly and steadily improved her lot. She even ended up marrying her “perfect” employer, Ser Chief—who naturally turned out to be a pluperfect husband, for good measure!

Lip and sass

As for his older kids from his previous marriage, they did give Maya some lip and sass, but they eventually learned to love her—and how!

While the series’ development was generally too good to be true (and thus too untrue to be good), its stars’ careers definitely benefitted from its runaway success. In particular, Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap rose in the entertainment industry’s stellar ranks, in addition to becoming in-demand product endorsers.

Still, the series’ fantasy and wish-fulfillment orientation prevented them from dealing with intense dramatic conflicts, so they didn’t progress as much as actors.

That’s why we were especially grateful for the presence in the show of Aiza Seguerra as Maya’s “butch” sibling. Aiza tells it like it is even in real life, so her TV portrayal was acutely believable and empathetic, unlike her coactors’ often idealized existence.

That’s why we complained when her character’s importance and exposure in the show were reduced—and cheered when she was eventually given more significant things to do again.

Aiza may have been in the distinct minority in “Be Careful” but, pretty much all by her lonesome, she gave it the realism and truth that it sorely needed. So, as we bid a fond farewell to the series, we thank her—with special fervor!

Of all the sites for BCWMH, I think PEx is the best!

Why?

1. It’s easy to navigate from thread 1 to thread 29.

I will update the DVD with PEx index for those who have DVDs.

2. You don’t have to reload hundred times to go to previous dates especially months or year ago.

3. You can still see your post 2 years ago. Sa FB at other sites makikita pa ba?

4. Interesting, intelligent as well as nakakaaliw posts (POVs, comments, poems, scaps, videos) from a lot of talented adiks/fans from past to present.

The one I like the most, everyone is free to post, but people here are very considerate and respectful to each other especially the BCWMH artists…no bashing at all like other groups.Ano pa ba?

Kristin Hermosa & Jericho Rosales ang lead stars. Isang poor girl na inlab sa rich boy. Boy is anak ng Vuenavista: Claudia played by Jean Garcia & Tonton Gutierrez. Si Kristin anak ni Tonton kay Eula Valdez. Eula used to be poor na nagsumikap. Nagkahiwalay sila ni Kristin I forgot how. Yumaman si Eula nag revenge sa mga buenavista. Google nyo lang mejo nalimutan ko na sa tagal. Pangako sa yo ang isa sa mga success serye ng ABS na it was sold to asian countries. Jodi played the young sister of Jericho trivia.

The story starts with the love story of Amor (Eula Valdez) and Eduardo (Tonton Gutierrez). Eduardo’s mother, Benita, opposes the relationship since Amor was a maid and because she wanted Eduardo to marry Claudia (Jean Garcia) for political reasons. Eduardo’s brother, Diego (Jestoni Alarcon), who has a crush on Amor, was asked by Benita to separate them. Eduardo, on seeing Diego trying to rape Amor, mistook it as them having a relationship, and is heartbroken and decides to marry Claudia. Amor, now pregnant, is forced to leave the Buenavista hacienda and went back to her mother at a trash dump. She vows to have her revenge on the Buenavista family when she finds out that Eduardo has married Claudia.

The Kapurpurawan rock formation is located on the rocky coast of Burgos, Ilocos Norte. It is known
for its creamy white and streamlined limestone formations, which have been sculpted by different oceanic and weather forces. Burgos is located on the
northwestern tip of Ilocos Norte.

First I was confused with this scene. Showing windmills while they are in Burgos, Ilocos Norte where the Kapurpurawan is located. Because I know the famous windmill farm is located in Bangui, Ilocos Norte. I asked uncle Google, and I found out that they also build another windmill farm in Burgos. Akala ko dinaya lang nila yong shot.

Burgos Wind Farm is a wind farm in Burgos, Ilocos Norte, Philippines.[3] It is the second wind farm built in the province of Ilocos Norte. The estimated cost for the construction of the wind farm was US$450 million. The wind farm was commissioned in November 9, 2014 and upon its completion it became the largest wind farm in the country and in Southeast Asia, covering 600 hectares and three barangays of Burgos, namely Saoit, Poblacion and Nagsurot. The project was the first one to be nominated by the Department of Energy as eligible for the department’s feed-in tariff scheme.
In 2005, Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, son of the former President Marcos, inaugurated the first phase of the NorthWind Bangui Bay Project with 15 70-meter wind turbines standing on the windswept shores of Bangui. This project was highly prioritized by Sen. Bongbong Marcos, Ilocos Norte governor at that time, because of power shortages that slows down the economic growth of the province. Thanks to the researched conducted by NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory), growing a wind farm on Bangui’s beach is a green light. Businessmen, engineers, and builders from the Philippines and Denmark worked together on this monumental feat – Bangui’s massive wind mills were the first in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia.

November 28, 2014 Ep THE KAPIT-BISIG END….

Maya and Richard continue their travel all around Ilocos. Maya sticks her head out of the front seat of the pick up truck and screamed in awe of the place. She said it was beautiful.

Meanwhile, at their house in Manila, Manang Fe sits in the backyard and watches Doris and Lea play with Sky and Sunshine. Joma was also hanging out because Manang Fe is there. Manang Fe tells Doris that she is so very proud of her. She told her that she feels so much better seeing that Doris loves and cares for the family as much as she cared for them. It warmed Doris’ heart to hear Manang Fe say that. Then Manang Fe turned to Lea. She asked if her new employer is ok? Lea told her she is fine where she is working now. Then it was Joma’s turn. She told him that she is happy that he could now have Marco on weekends. Joma didn’t say a word. He just cuddled with Manang Fe. Doris had to complain that she really favors Joma most of all seeing that the two are so close and hugging each other. Lea said it is unfair. But to settle down the girls Manang Fe remembered Sabel hasn’t made it to work yet.

At that time, Sabel shows up apologizing. She said she is late because she had to stop by at the hospital. While everyone was startled and wondered why Sabel had to go to the hospital, the happy look on her face told it all. She looked at Doris and Lea and just let out a scream. A couple of seconds later, Doris and Lea got it and they too screamed. Then Joma and Manang Fe got it. While the girls all hugged each other, they joined in the celebration of Sabel’s happy news. (Waaaa! Too bad we are not going to see Sabel’s baby. There are so many things we are not going to see. It is just too bad. )

“Pregnant? Pregnant!” Maya excitedly said while reading her text. “You don’t have to shout Sweetheart. I know that you were pregnant then.” Richard replied. But Maya’s hands started waving like a bird trying to fly. She is trying to remove that thought on Richard’s mind. “No Sweetheart, I am not the one who is pregnant. It is Sabel. Sabel is pregnant.” Maya said checking back the text message she got once again. “Really?” Richard asked. “Yes.” Maya replied. She showed it to Richard and when he read the text he was delighted at the news. He immediately took his phone and called Sabel. Once he got her on the phone, he placed the call on speaker. “Sabel…Congratulations.” Richard said. “Sabel let’s talk when we get home ok?” Maya said. “Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Chief.” Sabel was over the moon happy. Richard and Maya were for her too because they know how much she wanted to have a child.

But the thought of Maya being pregnant never escaped Richard’s mind. He was so happy for them but was so worried that Maya’s taste buds because overly picky. There was nothing in the world that she would eat except for Richard’s burnt pancit (noodles) which they discovered by accident. One night he decided to appease Maya and cook her some pancit. But because he isn’t used to cooking he burns it a little but Maya surprisingly loved the dish. “It tastes good.” Maya said with her mouth full. “You’re kidding?” Richard asked. But she couldn’t get enough of the pancit. It is either she is starving to death or her taste buds were totally off. It could be a combination of the two. “No it really tastes good. It is up to you if you don’t believe me.” Maya said while her mouth is still chewing.

Then Richard could remember the time when he woke up to Maya on crossing over him while he slept. He was so surprised but Maya acted as if he is the one who is doing something weird. “What are you doing?” Richard asked. “Huh? Me? You…what are you doing? Aren’t you supposed to be sleeping?” She asked. Maya and her superstitious beliefs got to her mind again.

Richard couldn’t help it. It was a pregnancy so different from any of his three children. He felt like a new experience again. He took Maya and placed his hand around her shoulders so they could continue walking the path of white sand along the coast.

Their hike took them to a place called Kapurpurawan (The Whitest) where you could go horse back riding along the beach and in between the rocky shores. Along the way are tide pools and some breath taking sceneries of the ocean.

The two kept walking until they reached a hillside opening to the rocky, hilly oceanfront. At the top of the opening, they walked to look at the view. They enjoyed the peace and serenity of the place.

Maya took the time to apologize to Richard for her demeanor some two and some years passed when she was pregnant. “Sweetheart, I am sorry that i gave you such a hard time when I was pregnant.” Maya said. “You have nothing to be sorry about. I enjoyed every minute of it.” Richard replied.

He remembered the times catering to her cravings in San Nicolas. Richard went with Tatay to the wet market to find some fresh crabs showing it off to Maya. “You are excited to cook dinner. It is still early.” Maya said. “Sweetheart, we need to cook seafood right away to retain its freshness.” Richard replied. And then at the dinner table when they prepped the banana leaves on top of the table and everyone ate with their fingers, Maya noticed that Richard ate like a horse.

Richard’s question to Maya came somewhat as a surprise. “Do you think it is time we have another baby?” Richard asked. (Waaaaa! I am kilig! ) Maya laughed. “Why not? I don’t have to fly so often anymore because of my new position so now I have more time for the kids.” Maya replied. “I think we can give Sky and Sunshine a sibling.” Maya happily said grinning showing her beautiful teeth. “Great!” Richard said as he leaned forward to kiss her. But Maya stopped him. “Sweetheart, not here. There are too many people who might see us.” She said. Richard chuckled. He was just too excited to work on the next siblings for the twins. (Ahhh! See now we are not going to see that. But if she becomes pregnant just about a few months after Sabel then their babies with Sabel would be the same age. They could be best buddies almost like twins. Waaaaa! We won’t see it anymore.)

Richard looked around and then asked Maya a question. “Do you see the windmills Sweetheart?” Richard asked. She took a look around. Although she did not respond, Richard could tell she sees them. He placed both his hands around Maya’s neck and stared at her face. Then he got corny (). “You are the windmill of my life. You give my wings the wind they need to make me fly.” Richard said. (Wow that is a mouthful. Try saying it a hundred times for a tongue twister. I bet Richard had a few takes. He easily get tongue tied ) Maya smiled while she savors the words that came out of Richard. He just does not know how much she appreciates her husband’s love and passion for the life that they have together. And in this place, where they could both enjoy the natural landscape that the Lord created, Maya could only say thanks to God for giving her Richard.

Richard stood there and while keeping his eye on Maya, he slowly leans forward to kiss her. The two felt like they were floating on air. Love radiates out of the pores of their skin to one another. They savor the moment that they could enjoy the beautiful surrounding, the breeze from the ocean and each other. After the kiss, Maya places her hand on Richard’s face as if she is thanking him for this day. They stand in the shadow of the mountains staring at the clear blue sky, the water and the rock formation that is the witness to their love.

The two continue their walk. On another part of the rocky oceanside, They walk toward the clearing by the water where they could now feel the waves and hear it crashing against the rocks. “Do you remember the time when we first said our I Love Yous?” Richard asked. Maya laughed. “Yes Sweetheart. It was when we both said it by accident?” Maya said remembering. Richard laughed at what Maya said. “The truth is…you are the only one who said it by accident.” Richard said. Maya was surprised.

“I did that on purpose. I really wanted to say I love you. And I really wanted to hear you say it too.” Richard admitted a secret. Maya remembered that night. They missed each other at the airport so they didn’t get to see each other. They were happy that they could talk that night. Richard told Maya about Luke’s depressed state since Joey broke up with him. She dared him to make Luke feel better with his jokes and such. Richard took the dare and just before they hung up the phone, Richard said goodnight. Maya followed and said goodnight. Richard said I love you and Maya replied the same. But after saying it, Richard was shocked that his plan worked. Maya was shocked too. It just rolled off her tongue without control. She covered her mouth and hung up the phone wishing she could take it all back. Now she knows he knows. (Waaaa! Kilig ) But what Maya didn’t know was that after Richard hung up the phone he grinned from ear to ear while he walked to his car. When he got in and just before he started the car, he couldn’t believe Maya said it too. He was so happy he said “Yes” three times and pounded the steering wheel in excitement.

“Sweetheart, why does it look like there are so many things you haven’t told me?” Maya asked. “I am embarrassed to say. I don’t want you to think I am corny.” Richard said. (Hmmmmm no Richard. What’s corny is when you said she is the wind that make your wings fly. Nobody talks like that anymore. Not in the norm anyway.) “Sweetheart what is corny about it when I am dying of giddiness here.” Maya argued. “Do you want to die more of giddiness?” Richard asked. “Aaakkk!” Maya covered her face. She is so excited. “Is there more?” Maya asked. “There’s another one.” Richard replied. (Yep it looks like the writers are on a roll. Come on, give it to us.)

“Aaaakkkk!” Maya couldn’t help it. She covers her face with her hands. “What is it?” She asked holding her face on her hands. “But this is even more corny.” Richard said. “Never mind I am used to your cornyness.” Maya replied. “Well I don’t want to say it then.” Richard pretended he is upset. “Ok it’s a joke. You are not corny. I want to hear about it. Please tell me.” Maya begged. “Remember Luke’s prom?” Richard asked. Maya nodded.

Richard told Maya that when they were waiting for the Luke and Nikki out in the lounge of the hotel, Richard stole a picture of Maya when she was standing by the piano looking at her phone. “But I already know about that. You told me about it already before.” Maya said. “But there is something I didn’t tell you.” Richard said.

That night on his way to the car, he looked at his phone again and stared at her picture. Then he set it as his lock screen and home screen. After he did that and while no one is around to see, he took his cell phone and kissed her photo like she did with his photo that he took of him in Baguio. (Waaaaa! You could tell this was a figment of the writer’s imagination. First, this was not the cell phone Richard was using during the prom. It does not have the Harley Davidson back cover. Secondly, the Date and Time of the phone. The time was 12:19 AM (Past midnight) and the date was November 28 which is the morning of the day of the final episode. Of course we don’t really care about the glitches. We’ll give that to them. We are just super fan addicts that nothing gets passed us. ) Weeee! I thought that was cute. Corny but cute Richard Lim.

Maya couldn’t believe it. “Did you really do it Sweetheart?” Maya asked. “I told you it was corny. But I just copied you. Remember the time when I caught you kissing my picture on your phone?” He asked. Maya chuckled. She couldn’t hide it. It is the truth. She covered her face once again. She is embarrassed about all the things she did before. But she is still excited over these new revelations she learned from Richard. “Sweetheart, there are so many things I am going to tell the kids when we go back.” Maya said. “No Sweetheart. You can’t tell them. This is our secret.” Richard begged. “But no Sweetheart, I am so excited over their reaction.” Maya insists. “I am going to be mad.” Richard said. “It’s ok.” Maya insists some more. “But Sweetheart.” Richard didn’t want her to tell. “Don’t you see how cute it is. They are going to find out about our love story.” Maya argued. Maya begged but Richard said no. He tried to tickle her but she insists on telling the kids. “Don’t be embarrassed with them. Pramis, they will love it.” Maya said. They continued to argue about telling the kids and for now, this is something we would never know if they are going to tell or not.

Back at the house in Manila, Nikki is busy on the phone. She is calling everybody she knows about Maya’s party the following day. Luke was doing the same while Abby is listing down all the people that RSVP’d. Sabel brought the kids some drinks while they are busy. “Niks did the people you called say ok?” Luke said. “Well not all but more than half already confirmed.” Nikki said. Luke was delighted to hear and so was Abby.

Richard and Maya decided to sit on top of one of huge boulders with the ocean behind them. “Sweetheart than you for the best birthday gift ever.” Maya told her husband. “This is not yet my birthday gift to you Sweetheart.” Richard replied. Maya was surprised. “Huh?” she said.

In San Nicolas, Nanay and Tatay were in their dinning room talking. “Arturo, our kids have a good life now. Everything they dreamed about that they want to achieve they have done so.” Nanay said. “I agree Tere.” Tatay said. “Just think…of all the things we have been through, here we are. We are all together and happy.” Nanay said. Tatay nodded in agreement. “And that is why, there isn’t anything more that I would like from God.” Nanay added. “Well, Me? There is something else. There is something else that I would like to ask you.” Tatay said. “What is it?” Nanay asked. Tatay took Nanay’s hand and kissed it. Then he leaned over and whispered in her ear. Nanay laughed while her eyes began to well up.

The two embraced tightly. At that moment, Chris and Cho came out of their room and saw the two locked in an embrace. Chris immediately covered Cho’s eyes and told them there are kids around or two children. Tatay and Nanay let go. “Christina Rose we are not doing anything.” Tatay said. Tatay pointed his two forefingers ready to attack. Chris and Cho began to back off scared of the pointy fingers. It means he is ready to tickle them to death. They go running away from Tatay but Tatay caught Cho by the front room while Nanay cornered Christina Rose in the dinning room. They chased each other around the house. The scene of a happy family. They stopped for a moment to embrace and show their affection and love for one another. It was such a joyous scene to see the de la Rosas enjoy a simple life full of respect, togetherness and love. (This was really a poignant scene specially after knowing that behind the cameras these people have became friends to a point that Cho actually treats them like mother and Grandmother and Sylvia is actually going to be a Godparent to Aiza’s wedding to her girlfriend. They will be friends in the true sense of Kapit-Bisig in life. )

Richard and Maya continued to enjoy the peace and serenity of the Ilocos ocean front. Richard feeling nostalgic and feeling honest about things he’s embarrassed to admit. But what he is about to tell his wife isn’t something he wants to hide. “I have said this to you before but I am going to tell you again. Thank you for coming into my life.” Richard said putting his hand on her face. Maya wanted to talk but Richard assumed she is going to ask about the other gift again. He tells her to wait until tomorrow. “No…” Maya said telling him she has other things in mind. “I just want to know what would happen if we didn’t meet?” Maya asked. “What do you mean?” Richard asked. “If we didn’t see each other at Jones Bridge? If the Bagoong Bottle didn’t roll over to the street.” Maya answered. “We would have still met that night.” Richard said. “How?” Maya asked.

In Richard’s mind, the night that Maya was walking across the bridge happened just like it did. She was bitter about being dooped by her friend Lorna, the recruiter who took off with the money from the loan using their house as the collateral. But she was bound and determined that isn’t going to define her existence. She is not going to be defeated by that incident. That is when she noticed her shoe gave out on her. She opened her duffle bag but while the bottle of Bagoong fell off the bag, it didn’t roll off the street. That is when Richard drove passed her. As Richard got to the end of the bridge, Maya started to walk going in the same direction.

“So you just drove passed me. How are we going to see each other?” She asked Richard. “Well something would have happened to me. I was so pissed off that night. I was hot headed.” Richard said. In his thought, he would reach the end of the bridge and attempted to make a right turn when another car came to the corner from the alleyway and they almost hit each other because he didn’t yield. (Well there are no signs to yield from the alleyway but it is obvious that you just don’t make a right turn without looking if there is a car coming from your left. That is just a common reaction if you are driving. So Richard had the right of way. Just saying!) Richard gets out of his car and yells at the driver of the other vehicle. “What’s the matter with you?” Richard asked. “You are the one who is not looking on your way.” The other driver said. “Why not?” Richard asked. “Look, I am here first. You are still turning and I am already here.” He argued. “I actually was here first. You just zipped out of the alley.” Richard said. While the two are arguing, Maya arrived at the corner. She could hear their heated argument but because she is trying to be careful, she just walked passed them without any of the two men noticing her. She wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible avoiding to get caught in the fight. Richard argued he had the right of way, (which he does) but the man isn’t accepting it. “I got here first.” The other driver argued. “It isn’t about who got here first. It is who has the right of way.” Richard argued back. Maya just looked at them but she started to walk fast away from them as possible.

“Sweetheart, if I saw you two arguing, do you think I am going to stand there and watch the fight? I just got to Manila and I don’t know anybody. I would think I would just stay away.” Maya explained. “You would?” Richard asked. “Yes and incidentally, I was thinking of something else that night. ” Maya said. “You were still going to walk away even if you saw me arguing with another man?” Richard asked. (Ahhh duh Richard…what do you think? She didn’t know you from Adam and the only reason why she noticed you was because you stopped for her.) “But of course.” Maya said. “Well then that is not the end of the story.” Richard answered.

At the end of the argument, the other driver just decided to go and leave Richard. He drove away so Richard got in his car as well to leave. “But I walked far already. You would not see me anymore.” Maya said. “That’s what you think.” Richard said.

While Maya walked the dark sidewalk, Richard drove by again but this time he hit a hole on the street that is full of rain water. He accidentally splashed dirty street rain water and drenched Maya. She at first got startled and then bent down to brush off the mud on her pants, legs and shoes. Richard saw what he did. He stopped and backed up. He got out of the car. “Miss I’m sorry.” Richard said. Without looking up, Maya retorts. “I’m sorry???” she said but suddenly when her eyes caught his, she was speechless.

“So I was speechless and lost all my senses and you sprayed me with dirty rain water. Do you think I am not going to be mad?” Maya asked. “Sweetheart, you were speechless because I am too handsome.” Richard teased. Maya started laughing because it is true. “So what if you didn’t see me because I rode the jeep because you were busy with the guy you were arguing with?” Maya asked for another scenario.

“We would have still met at the airport. At Seafare Airlines.” Richard replied. “What if I didn’t apply?” Maya asked. “You were working at the airport then. You will see Abby and you will save her. So you and I will still meet no matter what.” Richard argued. “But what if….” Maya had another scenario in mind but to shut her up, Richard gave her a kiss instead.

Maya once again became speechless. “Sweetheart, we were destined to meet each other. So even if you turn things around about our past, we will still see each other.” Richard was serious. “I love you Sweetheart.” Maya said. The two of them got up to watch the sunset together. Right before the sun finally set, they started heading back crossing the same bridge they took yesterday.

I am assuming it was an overnight trip and the following morning they arrive back at the house in Manila. As soon as they got in, the entire family with Manang Fe and Mang Tacio met them. They all greeted each other with the usual kisses to everyone. But as soon as they finished, Maya was excited to ask the magic question. “When is the party?” She asked. Everyone was surprised. “Dad you told her?” Abby asked. “She is annoyingly persistent. But I didn’t tell her everything.” Richard said. That made the kids feel better. “Anyway Mom you are so gonna love this.” Nikki said. “Huh?” Maya was surprised. “Yes Mommy but for now, you two should rest so you can be ready for the party later.” Luke said. “Are you sure you don’t need my help?” Maya asked. “Um no Mom. Everything is already prepared. ” Nikki said. Luke agreed.”We got it all taken cared of so let’s go and get you up and resting.” Luke insists. They all walked up the steps of the house.

Outside the party venue, Maya is still insistent on trying to find out what her surprise is going to be. “Sweetheart. I am too excited. What is the surprise?” Maya asked. “Just you wait and see. You will love it.” Richard said.

He pulled the door of the banquet room open. When both doors open and Maya walked in, everyone yelled “SURPISE!” Behind the beautiful arch by the doorway are all familiar faces. They sang her Happy Birthday while Luke brought the Croquembouche type of pastry with a candle on top. “We brought all the people here today who has been part of your journey.” Richard said. Maya’s mouth dropped open. She couldn’t believe all these people who are here today to greet her a Happy Birthday.

They all clapped and happily sang her a loud and fun Happy Birthday.

“Mommy make a wish.” Luke said. Maya closed her eyes to make a wish and then blew out the candle. Everyone clapped after she blew the candle.

Maya then thanked her Mother and Father in law for coming to her birthday celebration. Then she spots Christina Rose and the de la Rosa family. “Tay I told you I was going to bring the twins to San Nicolas and here you are. You came.” Maya said. “Surprise!” Christina Rose said. She asked her parents when is the wedding? It appears that is what Tatay requested Nanay for them to renew their vows. “Soon” Tatay said. Then Maya saw Simon whom she hasn’t seen in a while. It turns out, he is working in Singapore now and that is why he hasn’t been around. But he told Maya that he took a day off to come and attend her birthday party. “Anything for you my friend.” Simon said. She greeted Lino who introduced her to Lindsay; she also noticed Bugoy (It was good to see him); she said hello to Aling Ebing, and her two friends who were with her when she came to Manila the first time. They were the same girls who were also dooped by Lorna the fake recruiter. And of course hugged Manang Fe and Mang Anastacio.

She mentioned the names of the people…her main support…Doris, Sabel Lea, Una, Joma, and Jerry. She said thank you to them all. Then Maya turned to her friends from Time Airways starting with Ms. Pacheco and Ms. Calandra, Eds, Eman, Dane and Dez (whom I could barely recognize). They all hugged each other. She of course made extra mention Roomie after all he has been a big part of her journey. She also saw Wilson who was gone for a long time. In fact he never showed up again after his stint until today. I guess he didn’t bring Jonah with him. Then all together Luke and Nikki’s gang of friends including Nicolo greeted Maya a Happy Birthday. Maya was thankful they could make it.

Behind them were the LAS/LAI people, Sonny, Minerva, Engr. Yamaguchi and Atty Ryan. Among the invited were Maya’s OB-GYN and of course the Pediatrician. Then her three friends from the new Mom’s forum (Kitchee is the only name I could remember) which I am sure their names escaped Maya’s mind because I could barely remember them either.

Behind them was a man that Maya would never forget. He is one of the very first people she’s met from Manila. They met on the plane and he gave her her first job in Manila. He is Tatang of JD Manpower. (Don Julio) She gave him a hug and ran to tell Ricky.

“Sweetheart look they are all here.” Maya screamed. “Nope.” A familiar face came out hiding from behind Richard. Maya’s eyes grew wide. “Not everyone.” She said. Maya got excited. “Raffy!” She jumped for joy. The two excitedly embraced one another. Raffy told her she missed her. Everyone started clapping. They were so happy for Maya. Her day seemed to be complete with everyone present at her party.

So after they ate, the program began. Chris started by going ahead and giving her speech first. “Before our beautiful Birthday Girl talks, I would like to say something first. As you all know, Maya is a very special person. No one is like her. When she loves you she will give you everything. She will always be there for you. She will never leave you. She holds on. There are times I kept pushing her away but she just won’t let go. She’s like a glue when she latches on.” Christina Rose told the people in the audience. Then she turned to Maya. “And now that it is your birthday, ahh…I want to let you know that I love you very much and I am so lucky…” Chris holds her tears back. “I am so lucky because you are my sister.” She finally finished what she wanted to say. Maya’s lips quivered. She tried her best to hold back tears as well but her heart is full with the lasting words of her sister. Chris came and hugged Maya with a bead of tear on her eyes. The audience clapped.

It was Nanay Teresita’s turn. “Me? I can say that I am a very lucky mother because God blessed me with children like Christina Rose and Maya. She turned to Chris and said, “You have always been our shoulder to cry on when we need one.” Then Nanay turned to Maya. “My dear daughter, thank you for bringing our family back together again.” Nanay said. She turned to the audience. “She didn’t stop there. She never gave up because that is how she loves. She would never give up. Thank you my darling daughter.” Nanay said. She gave Maya a hug.

“I am giving thanks because Mommy came to our lives and our father stopped being grumpy. Kuya Luke, Ate Nikki, Sky and Sunshine, we are very lucky to have her.” Abby said. She is the spokes person on behalf of the Lim children. After all she is the little girl that brought her parents together. Before anyone in the Lim household saw the goodness in Maya, Abby saw it first. “Happy Birthday Mommy.” Abby faintly said as she ran toward her to embrace her. (Oh Abby…you break my heart. I feel your sadness even though it is supposed to be a happy day celebrating your Mom’s birthday. But like you, we saw the goodness in Maya’s heart because she cared and loved you first of all.)

Then it was Richard’s turn. “A few years ago, my life was a mess. I was so grumpy and my relationship with my kids was hopeless until Maya came along. She made me a better person and a better father. (and a better actor ) And I couldn’t live my life without her. I love you Sweetheart.” Richard said. There was not a dry eye in the audience. They are all overwhelmed with emotion coming from the most important people in Maya’s life. Richard came to give her a hug. Maya couldn’t stop crying.

She tried to compose herself. She knew she had to get up there to say something. But she couldn’t help it. Tears just kept flowing from her eyes. It is as if the faucet was turned on and there was no stopping the waterworks. “I am sorry that I am being a best actress again. But time first. Could I please have some water?” Maya asked. Christina Rose seemed to know exactly what she needed because she was already gone to the waiter to fetch a glass of water. Maya took a gulp to calm herself down. She kept wiping the tears from her eyes. But with a brave face and a smile, she had to go on.

“Ummm thank you very much for everyone who came to celebrate with us. Thank you. Thank you everyone. Ummm Maybe after today, it will take some time before we are going to be completely together again. But…but even if we don’t see each other, you will always be in my heart because we will Kapit-Bisig in life. And not only that, you have become a part of our family. And that the most important thing.” Maya talked in between sobs. But she bravely continued. “What’s important is the people we love. The people we consider a family. And no matter what happens in our lives, I believe that our good relationship and love for one another is enough to bring joy into our hearts. Thank you very much to all of you.” Maya concluded.

She turned to look at Richard. After all he is her partner in her entire journey. He was there on the wings just waiting for her until she needed him. They embraced when the music began to play. Maya wiped the tears from her eyes…still sobbing.
