I walk out of the interview room, preoccupied with the thoughts of a doe-eyed smartass. I almost can’t believe she was willing to forego the job.
Ryan lingers behind me as I climb the stairs to the first floor. I would normally use the elevator but I’m trying to clear my head.
“What?” I ask my friend when he continues to silently follow me without a word.
“Nothing. It’s just I’ve never seen you so…unhinged,” he delivers.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” I ask.
“It means for some reason, that woman rattled you. And I’m curious about why.”
“She’s a menace. Annoying and rude,” I state.
“She’s also going to be working in close quarters with you by Monday. so I suggest you work on controlling your emotions.”
“I have my emotions under control,” I grit out.
