Scene: Emman’s condo, pinakita yung make-up brushes at inaayusan si Maya, putting foundation, lining the brows, putting lipgloss
Emman: (while holding the make-up brush) PERFECT!
Scene: SC’s BMW, Luke in passenger’s seat, nikki at the back
Nikki (talking to Emman on the phone): Is Ate Maya ready na?
Emman: Pag dinaanan niyo pa dito si Maya, lalo kayong matatraffic.
SC: Wait, dapat sunduin natin si Maya. She’s just doing us a favor.
Emman: Ako na po ang bahala kay Maya.
Scene: Hotel ballroom, magkakasabay na pumasok sila Nikki, Luke and SC
Niks: Oh my gee, naunahan pa natin si Ate Maya!
SC: It’s okay Niks, go ahead. I’ll just wait for Maya at sabihin ko nalang nauna na kayo.
SC (to Maya on the phone): Maya, where are you? Nandito na kami.
Maya: Andito na po ako Sir Chief. (Sir Chief starts to walk, finding Maya)
SC: Where exactly are you?
Maya: Dito po, sa may pinto po.
Then pinakita si SC na binaba na yung phone niya tapos para may tinitignan from head to toe while smiling, parang in disbelief and amusement at the same time. He shakes his head and said
WOW!
END OF TEASER
(Took 15 min to get myself together!)…I can’t compliment those people enough…writers, directors, designers in creating the “Prom” episode. These people had built so much hype and set this scene up so perfectly! I wasn’t going to talk about this until I actually see the whole episode, but I can’t help it. The teaser alone made me breathless! I couldn’t have pictured Richard’s first reaction any better when he saw Maya. All he could do was smile and say “wow” as if everything else froze and it was just him and her in the room. It’s Maya’s turn now to take Richard’s breath away…
Manang Fe is the biggest Team Richard-Maya advocate! I love the way she consistently reminds Richard how lucky he is and his family to have Maya in their lives. There’s almost a hiden agenda on convincing Richard to dress up whether or not he’s planning to stay at the prom. Knowing that Maya will be there too, It’s like they’re setting up the perfect scene for these two.
There’s just one scene I wasn’t sure about. I’m not sure (yet) why Richard wouldn’t pick up Maya’s call while he was talking to his friend. I’m assuming he just wants to avoid any questions. This could be nothing and I’m probably just over analyzing it.
As for tomorrow’s episode….There’s a good chance of me not posting right away. It may take a while for me to recover from the wonderful events that are about to happen!!! I’m really looking forward to it.

Mga minor observations lang po, but overall I like this prelude episode to the prom. Basta bukas ha?
One more pa pala… Sana manalo naman si Maya kay Ser Chief kahit minsan lang.
Ang twist bukas ay….will proclaim “KING and QUEEN of Chaperons!” sina SC and Maya hahaha!
BTW, hats off to Manang Fe for being Sir Chief’s voice of reason and sounding board…konting push pa Manang Fe, his singkit eyes will be enlightened and will see the “rare” gem in front of him 🙂

We’ve expressed our appreciation to the brilliant writers and directors but I’d also want to mention the selection of other supporting characters: non-mansion & non-San Nicolas folks. If they have a casting team I’d like to congratulate them as well for putting the right people in the right character. The guys playing students at Luke’s and Nikki’s school, Maya’s school friends, Ser Chief’s office (Liza ) and site personnel, Maya’s training pals, the choice of Yaya candidates, even the Valentine restaurant folks and Nikki’s boutique sales ladies…they all seemed bagay-na-bagay in the roles they play. I’d like to say the casting coup goes to Emman, for being a perfect pink BFF to Maya. He is such a trip and I love him.
We also know how ABS works on end of week cliffhangers. Not to dampen your spirits, the full-blown prom event I think will not take place this Friday but Monday so just keep tight since this weekend is a longgggg one but I’m sure it’s all worth the Monday wait.

I love the lines of Manang Fe : Ang pagiging magulang hay hindi kong ano ang alam mo kundi kong ano ang kaya mong ibigay sa mga anak mo.

Richard can´t help it but to be fascinated with the beauty that slowly getting near to him. This beauty that hold his heart and made him breathless. And Maya, as always, so humble, but different now, a real lady, and Richard is right, it´s not the dress, it´s her.
I have to watch it early in the morning (since i have to get 6 in the morning for my school kids) but got no time to write my review. Excitement made my schedules for today a bit crazy, so just decided to get busy and took the rest of the afternoon as a break to watch it again! 🙂

This totally made up from one whole week of emotionally draining episodes when Maya was in the process of moving out. I may sound like i”m all over the place. I apologize in advance. I’m still in awe. Very well made and thought out. The episode covered everything. From Maya to Richard, the kids on their rite of passage (prom) and a parent/s sentiment when their babies are no longer babies.

Cat got your tongue, Richard? Again, it’s nice to see more of Richard’s perspective in this story. I guess it’s safe to say Richard is the one who is “torete” now! With the piano playing a classic song, The Way You Look Tonight on the background and with Richard’s breathless reaction, this scene couldn’t have been more perfect! It was real obvious he was eager to pickup Maya so that he can see her. But I’m glad it worked out the way it did. It looked like Richard’s heart skipped a beat or multiple beats the moment he saw Maya. Richard Lim doesn’t stutter, gets flustered, or worst lost for words. EXCEPT when it comes to her. His singkit eyes just locked in on Maya. At least now, he sort of understands how she feels when he’s around. Although he’d given her compliments from the past, but most of the time he would say them in nonchalant way. This time he, himself couldn’t get over it. He couldn’t even stop smiling. I love the part when Richard said she’s beautiful because it’s her and not just because of the dress. The “old” Maya would’ve probably get so flustered, turn red, scream and then run away. The “new” Maya handled the situation with grace. She gladly accepted Richard’s compliment with just a simple smile. The shoe is on the other foot. Maya is now having Richard guessing what’s going on her head. But of course Maya wouldn’t be Maya without her clumsiness, even she if slipped a little bit she still handled that situation with confidence. It was cute though when Richard texted her, which only means he couldn’t take his eyes off of her. Apparently, someone had a change of heart on staying. Richard doesn’t wait on anyone or anything either. He could find better use of his time. Original plan was for him to just pick up the kids later. So what changed? Maya? It’s refreshing to see the sweet and sometimes corky side of Richard. I’m sure the audience will be seeing more that side soon.
Wala kasing substance yung character ni Joey eh, other than the masunurin, goody-goody type of girl… siguro kung lagyan nila ng a little drama sa relationship nila ni Luke, like kunwari selos siya baka sakali. They have not really explored the character of Joey kaya parang bland ang dating.

Ako rin. Na super-glue yata yung akin. The slow-moving episodes built up the right amount of longing and maybe a dash of desperation from the fans kaya tuloy gumunaw ang mundo for 45 minutes dahil sa episode kanina. hahahaha

Very significant yung apology ni SC for reminding Maya of her dad. Despite dealing with his own feelings about Nikki growing up so fast, which is very hard for a parent, he was very caring to Maya about her issues with not having a dad. Their exchanges about Mamang as kasayaw sa debut also shows the intensity of their friendship. I see the transition!!! Ang depth talaga ng character ni SC is so admirable. The writers do such a great job!

Tingin ko parang ina-assure lang ni SC si Maya pero alam niyang there’s something na between the two of them. Well, sa part niya at least. Baka kasi ang itinakbo ng convo eh parang vulnerable pa si Nikki na maniwala sa mga tao kaagad-agad tapos maging friends sila then lovers then in the end eh sasaktan niya lang si Nikki (whoever the guy is) pero sabay sabi ni SC na iba tayo eh!
The casual touch of Maya’s hair by SC shows that he has a comfort level with Maya. It’s so unassuming and so kilig at the same time. The stolen shot, another step into the right direction, ever so slowly.
So it looks like he’s taking her home, just imagine all the possibilities………or we can have some more hopia.

The way Maya loves, she doesn’t ask for anything in return…she just loves. No ifs and buts. And she’s fine with that. But now we are starting to see reciprocity from Richard. He’s definitely showing more affection towards her. Him tucking her hair in behind her ear might seem to be a simple gesture, but that means a lot. He’s reaching a certain comfort level with her. He’s allowing himself to open up more. He even invited her to dance. The difference with this one, he’s doing all these even there are people around. Also, it looks like there’s a reversal of roles now. Him taking Maya’s picture without her knowing was totally a “Maya” move. I’m excited to see what he’ll do with that picture. As a spectator, I’m glad to see Richard’s character is allowing himself to be happy again. The “wall of defense” is slowly coming down.

Yung sa scene nila Luke and Joey: I liked it for the description of Luke of just what Nikki is to the family. How they were all broken up after the death of Alex, and how it was Nikki who insisted on their resuming a normal life – how she was the one who made them laugh and keep on going.
Which made it all the more poignant when the camera focused on Nikki trying to be brave. Kudos to Niccolo for finally showing the sensible young man he could be – if only for the one night. *g*
So…si Joey ay third generation prom queen, tama? Sana naman kung may konting fire sa interaction kay Luke, but hey, I do know some couples like that, actually.
The teaser…jusmo, jusko, jus natin lahat…be still my beating heart! Tamang tama, nasa cardio appointment ang waswit ko; sabihin ko nga sa secretary kung magpatune-in yung TV sa ABS-CBN. Uwaaa. Kung hindi, iwantv is my date again.

My take on it is…Ricardo knows somewhere in his subconscious that he is attracted to Maya. But being the snob and full of pride man that he is, I’m pretty sure he can always come up with an excuse as to why he will make beso to Maya. For instance, he can always say ” It’s just like how I am with Rafi. We beso and hug but nothing to it”. He can also, just tell this to himself as he seems to have successfully denied for the past 9 months that he likes her. I won’t be surprised really. But hope springs eternal
