“You’re sleeping over too, right?” Sunshine asks me as I tuck her into bed.

“Of course, she is,” Sky replies for me.

Richard arranged for another bed to be placed in Sunshine’s room so the kids could have a sleepover tonight. He said it was for them but we both know he wanted me to stay the night. I don’t mind his schemes though and the kids were excited as well.

“Yes, sweetheart. I’ll prepare breakfast for you tomorrow morning. What do you want?” I ask her.

“Pancakes,” she yells at the same time Sky yells, “Waffles.”

“We’ll just have both,” I say to appease them.

“Good night, kiddos,” I tell them.

I move to Sky’s bed and place a kiss on his cheek before moving toward Sunshine.

“Good night, Maya,” she says as I kiss her forehead.

“Wait,” she suddenly says as I move to stand.
