Maya: Tulog ako.
SC: (natatawa) Maya don’t be mad.
Maya: Hindi ako galit.
SC: Ok let’s go, let’s eat im hungry na.
Maya: (SC pigil ang tawa) Sige Ser Chief yan ituloy mo yan tawa ka pa
SC: SMILED.
Maya: Nakakainis naman Ser Chief eh.
AT THE RESTAURANT:
SC: What do you want to eat?
Maya: Busog ako.
waaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! am suppperrr duppper kilig today..everytime ser chief kissess maya..di ko ma control..i have to make waaaaaaa…buti nalang my roomie is at work pa…thank you BCWMH for making me happy always….i don’t know, but each episode gives me a different kind of kilig power…powere na x1000 to the millionth power x whatever…HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERY ONE..am working tonight but..never mind..am happy coz am kilig..to the max.

Maya: Alam mo Ser Chief hindi mo naman kailangan pigilan eh kasi kung natatawa ka itawa mo na kasi baka mamaya kabagan ka.
SC: It was really funny ok.
Maya: Kaya nga eh di tumawa ka.
SC: Hwag ka na kasing magalit, what do you want to eat?
Maya: Hindi ako gutom.
SC: Ok… waiter….pa order naman ng isang….
Jodi and Richard brings out the best in them. Jodi is perfect as Maya and Richard perfect as Ser Chief. I can’t think of any actress that can bring life to Maya, and vice versa with Richard as Ser Chief. There is no actor that can deliver the speech that Richard did, he is a natural.
After lumabas si Maya at tinawagan si Emman.
SC: Oh nakapagvent ka na?
Maya: Oo, talo naman ako inokray pa ko ni Emman.
SC: Eh ikaw eh.
I wrote in my review of 27 May:
What exactly is the magic of BCWMH that has us all wrapped up and riveted in our seats? It is an accepted formula that for a series to be successful, it has to have megastars and be on primetime. Jodi Sta Maria, Gloria Sevilla and Sylvia Sanchez have made a name for themselves as dramatic actresses; Richard Yap, a neophyte in show business, has one series under his belt. Their individual successes were not a guarantee for the longevity of a daytime series. Yet, BCWMH has become a top rated blockbuster for TFC. We, their adoring fans have catapulted Jodi and Richard to stardom and in return, their on-screen chemistry brings us non-stop kilig moments. A fair exchange.
Jodi Sta Maria, a great actress, has honed her artistic craft for 14 years in various supporting roles and is now reaping her just rewards. Just as Audrey Hepburn’s portrayal of Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s is considered to be her most memorable and identifiable role, Jodi Sta Maria’s Maya will be hers.
Maya: Ikaw naman kasi Ser Chief eh.
SC: So ok na puede ng hindi idelete?
Maya: May choice ba ko?
SC: Let’s go
Maya: Anong inorder mo para sa akin?
SC: ____WALANG masabi hihi.
Maya: Wala?
SC: Sabi mo di ka gutom.
Maya: Hmm Ser Chief syempre sinabi ko lang yun dahil naiinis ako.
SC: I can just go back in to order.
Maya: Hindi na ok na Ser Chief, wag na tayo na.
SC: Maya, don’t be like that.
Maya: Hindi ok lang talaga Ser Chief alis na tayo.
Lumabas na si Maya at sumakay sa car.
SC: Maya, that’s not…
Maya: Ayyy!! magnanakaw! masamang loob! Ser Chief carnapper! Ser Chief may tao!!
SC: Maya, that’s not our car.
Maya: Ha?!
More OCD moments….
I can’t help but post these things I saw on this episode that to me is blaring ha ha even though they are all moot points….
1. On the “Ang Nakaraan” they show the part where Maya mistakenly opens another car’s door only to find another driver there…she screams and tells Richard that there’s another man in the car. Richard answers her “Maya that’s not OUR car.” Wala lang. It sounds good to hear him say our car as opposed to my car or the car.
2. There is a small bump or white spot on Maya’s hair when she first joined Richard at the Hangar after she changed to the green blouse. Someone asked me if I saw it. Of course I did but at first I didn’t have any idea what this was. And of course the OCD that I am, it never escaped my mind to figure out what that would be. I think I know. Maya’s hair is fairly thin so the hair stylist added a clip on hair extension to thicken up her hair and that was what it was. It peeked out of the thinner part of her hair fall.
3. The waiter with a crooked tie…his tie was still crooked when he was standing at the back listening to the speech.
4. After Richard cut the ribbon to the hangar, he led Maya in and they look like they just got married except he is holding the bouquet of ribbons and no flowers ha ha….
5. The strings quartet did a great job with their part and probably during taping they were really playing a tune but that isn’t the same song that the production used for that part of the scene. How do I know that? The movement of the violinists bow does not match the song. While their bow went back and forth slowly, the music was short and staccato sounding…ha ha Akala nila maloloko nila ako ha ha Wala lang..obsi kasi…

Maya De La Rosa, You are The woman behind SC success and Jodi Sta Maria You are the woman behind Richard Yap success and soring popularity. Because of your phenomenal acting you sell the character SC as the most desirable bachelor in the universe. I know that you have the ability to grab viewers attention and interest in every character you portray because you are an excellent actress I just don’t know why Star Magic overlooked you as one of their gifted and very talented star. You are under rated Jodi Sta. Maria but I hope after the phenomenal success of your first break as a lead teleserye , TPTB of Star Magic will notice how phenomenal you are and build you more and give you more a lead role project. You deserve it.
Now move on to the show. I applaud the writers for giving us a light and family oriented show .
SA RESTAURANT ULIT PARA KAY MAYA…
SC: Maya, stay there. paorder naman ako…(inorder ng food si Maya)
Maya: Thank you.Ser Chief sige na ok na tumawa ka na.
SC/Maya: Hahaha
Maya: Ser Chief nakakahiya yun ginawa ko, ano ba yun?
SC: Sige na kumain ka na.
Maya: Ikaw? gusto mo kumain?
SC: Tapos na ko.
Maya: hahaha hay… sigurado ka?
At this moment, Richard comes out of the restaurant. He asked her if she is done venting? (in fairness ha Richard, ang bilis mong kumain.? Sininghot mo yong ulam tapos ka na?) Maya changed her facial expression and calmly said yes. She admits defeat and “inokray pa ako ni Ehman” (Help! What does okray mean? In my lingo that is something you add to Pinakbet.) Richard asked her again if every thing is ok with her now? Is it ok not to delete the picture? Maya started laughing. “I don’t have a choice do I?” she said. Richard nodded, an expression of triumph. Then she asked him what he ordered for her? Richard had this look on his face…”ummm, you said you weren’t hungry.” Maya’s cheerful expression changed again to disappointment and maybe a little embarrassment since she did tell Richard she wasn’t hungry. But she is back to “tampo” mode again. (Galing talaga ni Jodi. Kahit anong reaction itapon mo sa kanya yakang yaka niya pagpalit palitin.) Richard tried and said he will go back in to get food but even before he finished his sentence, Maya said it’s ok they can just leave and she turned around and marched on to the parking lot. Richard tried to wave her down to tell her…..Maya opened the car door and screamed at the sight of another person on the driver’s side. “Waaaaaaa! A thief! A bad guy! Ser Chief! Carnapper”..she slams the door and turns to Richard who was fast approaching. “Ser Chief someone is in the car!” Maya frantically tells Richard. Calmly Richard tells her, “Maya, that is not our car.” (Nyek Nyek Nyek) Maya turns to the side and looks at the car and then looks at the car parked next to it and realized it isn’t their car (bwahahaha) Maya was so embarrassed she placed both palms over her face. Richard did all he could not to laugh knowing she is sensitive about him laughing at her. (ha ha napabuntunghininga na lang si Ser Chief para hindi tumawa ha ha. Kung Ser Cheap ko yon, walang patawad pagtatawanan ako kahit saan pa kami.)
Knowing Maya was really hungry, Richard stops at another place so she could get something to eat. They walk inside the restaurant but Richard pulled Maya to sit down at the table so he could order the food for her (talagang dinibdib niya ang promise kay Abby that he will take care of her Ate Maya. Plus one pogi points ka Ser Chief..dinagdag sa milyon milyon mong pogi points).

AFTER EATING
SC: Ok ka na?
Maya: Ser Chief sorry ha?
SC: For what?
Maya: Ang arte ko eh.
SC: No, you were just a little bi sensitive.
Maya: Eh di maarte ng inenglish mo lang.
SC: SMILED…
Maya: Hay… Ser Chief kinakabahan ako kasi buong umaga na akong palpak, eh pano pagdating dun sa launch palpak pa din ako. H- wag na lang kaya akong sumama.
SC: Don’t say that. I need you there.
Maya: Talaga?
SC: I need a good laugh pag kinabahan ako, anyway if you decide na ayaw sumama ok lang I still have your picture (pigil ang tawa).
Maya: Ah ganun.
SC: Hahaha
Maya: hahaha
(SC phone rings)
SC: Sonny, oh malapit na kami diyan. They need me right away. (teasing) Uuwi ka na ba?
Maya: Ser Chief talaga…
SC: Hahahaha
Pag ganiton usapan hindi na si Richard Lim ang nakikita ko kundi si RICHARD YAP!!
Awwww daming inorder ni SC para sa gutom na Maya <3. Like ko yung grabbing by the arm…touchy SC.
Nasa Lim mansion na si Nicolo inaasar nila Dorbel dahil basted daw.
Hahaha kaya pala puro handa ng pagkain ang Sabel kay Nicolo gustong magpaturo ng assignments tapos nung malamang mas matalino si Luke, sinabihan si Nicolo na dapat sya maghugas ng kanyang kinainan
Nag meet na sina Atty Ryan at Maya sa office ng hangar. Si Atty Ryan shock nun makita si Maya and he start to tease the two.
Sukiiiii, naku, suking-suki ka na talaga when it comes to poetry! Morantic ka talaga!!! Bravo bravo talaga – 100 stars sa ‘yo and your romantic poem! Wala na akong panalo kaya sa translations na lang ako hehe… i-try natin yung kay Ser Chief, kse mas nakikiligggg ako para lang nyang sinasabi sa akin hehe…
The night at the prom you simply looked gorgeous (Ang ganda ganda mo talaga nung gabing ‘yon at wow lang ang nasabi ko!)
I could not help myself, wasn’t it too obvious (Driver lang talaga dapat ang role ko, kaso hindi ako makaalis, nabighani talaga ako sa kagandahan mo!)
That little black dress did something to me, I guess (Salamat talaga kay Nikki & Lisa kundi hindi ko nakitang naka-little black dress ka. Yun pala tawag dun?)
I wanted to kiss you, to hug you in a sweet embrace (Hindi lang kiss ang gusto kong gawin nun, kaso gentleman kse ako kaya kiss muna sa pisngi!)

Ryan: Ah no hindi bababa na nga ako eh… I’m just so glad to meet you.

Since we’ve already mentioned their year’s journey repeatedly, this time I’m only referring to their one-month relationship (I guess it’s almost 2 months in our actual timeline but I don’t think it’s been a month in their timeline)

This time his “You’re the boss” smile is very sincere as he relinquished control to his lady love on how they are travelling back to Manila.

My comment for this episode is only for Nikki. Nagmana ka talaga sa Daddy Singkit mo. Mahal na mahal mo na si Nicolo, ‘di mo pa rin alam. I remember when I was on my teenage years at my friends were teasing me, ” the more you hate, the more you Kuhit,” This saying becomes a reality to Nikki Grace. I can sense her love in the tenderness of her voice doon sa door scene nila ni Nicolo.

I just realized that the last thread I read last night was yours. By then, I was on my 3rd glass and that was just before I bowed out from the forum. Now that I am awake, I revisited your thread and I realized that I failed to read the second half. That must have been when I momentarily “blacked out”. wahahahahaha.
This morning, I re-read the totality of your poetic contribution and I can appreciate it more since I am more clear-minded, now. So, with a fresh set of eyes and a more engaged brain, I read your poem again. And this is what I see now that I failed to see, earlier.Wow! What a beautiful poem. I can feel the lover’s emotion and hankering for each other. They are deeply longing and craving for an all out PDA which in my mind will definitely culminate in more than just a gentle lip-lock and tender embrace. Oh no, how I read their emotions only one act can satisfactorily express how they presently feel. Taking a cold shower! ha ha ha.
I just realized that your poem actually has two parts, and it is delivered by two voices, that of Maya’s and that of Sir Chief’s. How brilliantly composed!
For the first part, you successfully recollected the first time Maya came to the hangar and compared that scene to the latest hangar scene. Likewise, you masterfully articulated his perspective in how he initially felt disdain for Maya to how he has gradually became so besotted with her and eventually, now, how he feels he can’t live without her. How romantically composed!
You are such a sucker for romance, after all. You should not limit yourself to just merely writing comedic takes expressed through your scripts. Although those are well-thought out and quite hilariously delivered. But this latest one, I believe, is the best poem you have penned thus far. The tenderness and poignancy that runs through the lines of the poem’s entirety, personally, raises your literary contribution to a contemporary version of the famous Shakespearean sonnets. Your lines which are lyrically-exact, could easily be delivered by our modern day Romeo and Juliet.
Again, I am in awe of your literary skills and dexterity. You have definitely outdone yourself with this piece! Brilliantly conceptualized indeed! Bravo!

Ser Chief and Maya’s banter
The light moments between the lovers are really entertaining. It’s been quite a while since I last saw this Maya ( esp. the mistaken car moment). I’m glad to know that Jodi’s comedic timing is still there. Ser Chief on the other hand was simply adorable when he teases Maya about the picture. I was laughing really hard when he said “Ano? uuwi ka na ba?”
I also liked that subtle kilig moment when Ser Chief would just watch Maya eat after their tampuhan. Oh and what about that moment when Ser Chief was supposed to change his shirt. I really thought he’s gonna remove his shirt infront of Maya since he was playing with the hem of the shirt. Me and my wild imagination.
All eyes on Maya
Yup.Catherine will obviously watch Maya like a hawk during the launch. She’s after all undeniably envious of Maya being the girlfriend of loverboy Ricky. Then there’s the fact that she’s spreading rumors( okay fine, it’s true that Maya was once a yaya) about the GF of no less than the owner of the company. I really hope that before this hangar launch ends, Ser Chief will catch her gossiping about Maya and put Catherine in her rightful place once and for all!
Liza the Sergeant of Arms
Liza, liza, liza! You are such a sweetheart! I really love how Liza handled that situation with Catherine and her cohorts. She managed to silence the girls without being unprofessional. I knew that she won’t take the matter sitting down. She’s after all, one of the first members of the Ser Chief-Maya fans club, if not the Vice President ( of course, Manang Fe is the president).
Atty Ryan finally meets THE Maya Dela ROsa
Kudos to Cris V. for his acting during that scene. He genuinely looked pleasantly intrigued by Maya. I’m anticipating more teasing from him once Ser Chief finally sees Maya in her purple dress.

Honestly, I didn’t quite get why Maya delayed telling Ser Chief that his shirt has dirt. Wouldn’t it save Ser Chief from more embarrassment had she told him earlier about it? Well, then again, maybe the writers thought that it’d be more sweet for Maya to get his luggage for him instead.
I liked the fact that Maya respected Ser Chief’s privacy by not opening his suitcase without his permission. Though she’s the GF, she still realizes the fact that Ser Chief might not yet be open to giving full access to his stuff.

I’m quite sure that not a few viewers found their mouths hanging as well when that slow-mo scene was shown at the end of today’s episode. I know I did Ser Chief in plain white shirt is just….pure woman’s heaven!
Nicolo-Luke & Sabel-Doris Moments
I like this combination. The exchange of lines came out naturally. It’s as if they’re just at home and having that friendly banter. Nicolo may not be the matinee idol type but I give credit to his comedic timing. Luke on the other hand is getting more charming by the day. I won’t be too surprised if the teens in this show will be given their own series in the future.
Whatever happened to Cho?
The bullying scene is the show’s attempt to relate to more kids. It’s a fact of life that there are kids who are physically shorter but can be really mean. Cho just has to know how to stand his ground. Honestly, I can relate since I was once a victim of bullying when I was in first grade. But after giving the girls a piece of my mind, they never bothered me again.

Liza’s reaction is a huge proof of how gorgeous Maya will look during the launch. The guys and yes even Catherine with her cohorts, will be left awed by Maya’s beauty based on the teaser. This didn’t surprise me because Maya’s character is after all living a some sort of a Cinderalla story.
Ser Chief will be her dashing date. Heads will turn, eyebrows will reach the roof. But what I’m really anticipating is how Catherine will act towards Maya during the launch. Just how will Maya surpass the watchful eyes of the “mean girls” and the questions about her background from Ser Chief’s colleagues.
This might actually mark the start of another hurdle in the love story. Maya’s humble beginnings juxtaposed with Ser Chief’s high-profiled world.

I remember yung pic where Maya had a long face.. baka that’s after hearing the rumors? You know how she is.. kahit na may prob o naoffend.. cheery pa rin on the outside. So I really want to know how she’ll deal with Catherine and her cohorts during the launch kapag pinaringgan siya. I remember Maya’s encounter with Abby’s tutor noon.. sana ganoon pa din si Maya.. will stand her ground and supalpalin yung mga mahilig manliit sa kapwa.
I love what Liza did for Maya but I am still hoping SC would put Catherine in her place so that once and for all it would put an end to the office gossip and due respect would be given to Maya. Maybe, Atty Ryan will relate to SC what she did or else SC will witness it for himself.
I don’t think Maya will have a hard time defending herself. We know her to have a sense of self as when she was confronted before by James Ventura. I don’t think she’ll be easily cowed by these people na hindi naman importante sa kanya. – Maya will stand her ground and show that she is far from being “non-intimidating” (Remember when she gave SC a piece of her mind in San Nicolas before he apologized? THAT.)
– SC will see the baiting of Catherine and her minions and step in to put a stop to all the mayhem and foolishness (it would be nice if he tells Catherine that as a result, he will never do business with her company in the future, let her explain THAT to her real boss).
– Maya will stand her ground, then SC steps in to deliver the final blow (by far the nicest option I can think of, as it give Maya a chance to stand up for herself and SC a chance to show how dear she is to him).
What a pity that Joma isn’t at Clark to appreciate Liza’s gown. Dear heavens, that neckline will put Catherine in the shade.

On another note, I don’t think SC would care whether Maya will adapt to the social world or not since he himself is a very private person. Remember the time when they went to the restaurant for their Father’s day date? SC was more uncomfortable than Maya eating at the restaurant. He preferred a more private setting just like at their Valentine’s day date. So I don’t think SC would be bothered even if Maya embarasses him. He would just be amused by it siguro at aasarin ng todo si Maya but he would not take it against her.
However, if somebody else dares to deliberately embarass Maya, then that would be another story because I think SC would definitely seek redress.

With more stylish clothes and either her pearl or stud earrings, Maya had evolved to fine woman. Her movements are more refined. She speaks with wisdom. Maya had finally reached her peak. Although, once in a while the old Maya comes out, she knows when to turn on her charm. One man is responsible for bringing out her inner glow, Richard. Just like the new hangar that he’s been working on the whole year to perfect before he can show the world, the love he has now with Maya and her transformation, have also been one year in a making. Richard may say, there’s no such thing as the perfect timing, but subconsciously he had mastered the art of it. You are ready, Maya dela Rosa! Now, let your hair down and let everyone see you.
If Manang Fe is the President, and Raffi is the VP for Team Richard-Maya, Liza is definitely the commander of the high guard. Liza have always been ready to defend and watch her boss’ back. Now that Maya is an important part of Richard, Liza’s got Maya’s back covered as well. Not only that, looks like the team is growing and gained a new member. Before meeting Maya, Ryan had always been curious with her. Richard always speaks very highly of Maya, as he should, but Ryan hasn’t really seen what was it exactly with Maya that captured the chief’s elusive heart. That moment Ryan met her, though he could hardly contain his excitement and he looked like he just met the first lady, everything made sense.
There’s something about Maya losing herself each time she sees Richard in action and/or his own element. In other words, hotness meter is at its maximum. Although, it had the same effect on Maya from the first time she saw Richard like this, it definitely had a different outcome. This time, Richard reciprocated with that infamous smile. Somehow, these two are capable of creating moments like this as if it’s their first time falling in love with each other
Maya walked in a room full of people and as everyone turned to see, Maya’s glow simply captured them. Even from a distance, while Richard was gazing on her as, it seemed like was a gravity that pulling him in closer and closer. His mind, his body and his soul, shifted towards her. With no or very little effort, Maya definitely shone. All front and center…all eyes on her. Maya had arrived.
“Physics makes our planes fly. It’s the people we love that make our planes soar” In this launch, Richard not only opened his new venture to the people. That moment when he was up on that stage, Richard had also let the people see through him…his personal side. He, every so often veered his focus to Maya, the woman who became his “why”. Why have courage, why take chances with change and why not to let go. Who he was before, his knowledge, his wit, his determination, technicalities, and logistics made him fly. But with the love of his children and Maya, he is now flying effortlessly. Ascending higher and higher to reach altitude, Richard and Maya will then glide together beautifully. To answer the question everyone is asking on how would Richard introduce Maya to his world. Simple… Curtains up….with her on his side, everyone took a glimpse of Richard Lim’s heart.

When Richard told the kids that there’s nothing interesting in the Hangar Launching and that it’s practically boring, I was hafl expecting that his speech would be about statistics on how many planes this hangar can service and how much percentage could this hangar contribute to the increase in company’s annual turnover and bottomline, and how much their new technology can reduce their carbon footprints.
On the contrary, his speech was so full of personal touch, filled with gratitude, conviction and belief that since change is inevitable, you can conquer all the hurdles and stumbling blocks that would come along the way as long as you have faith in what you’re doing.
When he glanced at the captivating beauty before him, he seems to spoke to her personally, affirming that she is worth fighting for and that as long as they work together they can overcome whatever obstacles that will be thrown their way.
If the kids would have been there listening to their fathers sppech, their hearts would have been overwhelmed with pride and love for a father that would always put their best interest first above all else. When Richard mentioned at the end of his speech that “it is the people we love that would make our planes soar, I can see it in his eyes how thankful he was that he found love again in this charismatic young woman before him, who loves not only him but also his children unconditionally. What a magnificient scene this was! Thank you so very much to all the members of BCWMH team!
Now let’s focused on Maya, labeled as simpleton girlfriend by the envious women. But they didn’t know that she has a fairy godmother in the person of Ehman, who waves her hand and taught her how to turn herself into beautiful swan on this important milestone of his boyfriend’s life. Thanks to you Pink Godmother Ehman, the simple girlfriend has revealed her captivating beauty to the Kingdom of Lim Aviation. In response, the King proudly show her off to all his subjects. For sure humaba ang hair ni Maya then, umabot hanggang EDSA. All I can say to Maya is that ” Somewhere in your wicked childhood, you must have done something good.”
At sa inyong lahat mga kapamilya, na walang sawang nag-post ng inyong mga reviews good or bad, made this teleserye worth my while. Marami akong natutunan dito, my vocabulary has widened, not only my English but my tagalog as well.
Before I close my review, I would like to say that I didn’t know that physic would make planes fly. All the while, I thought it’s aerodynamics that would make planes fly, not because I know the meaning of it, feeling ko lang dahil merong aero :-). Or maybe Aerodynamics is a branch of physics? It was many moons ago that I studied physics and all I can remember is the meaning of force because my teacher made an indelible mark on me. My teacher said that ” force is any push or pull, “but he did not stop there, he continued on saying, “that produces people.” I was only 15 then, so when I went home, I memorise it loudly in preparation for the test. When my father heard it, I was sternly reprimanded.

You are right in your deduction, that Physics constitutes many inter disciplinary areas of research such as quantum chemistry, biophysics, nuclear physics, ergo, aerodynamics would logically fall under this academic discipline.

What infuriates my father then, is that I reasoned with him that Force is really necessary to produce people. I didn’t put any malice whatsoever on that definition.
But my father was so angry that he bring it up with the PTA. Luckily, it was not only my father who got offended, some other parents reported it too. The case was escalated to the School principal. The teacher was not suspended, he was given a written warning instead. From that time on he stayed on the straight and narrow path.I believe that what he says meant to be a joke dahil it was the start of the school year, but when none of us laugh, he already know that he was in trouble.
I’ve replied to your comments here because I don’t want you to get a wrong idea that the teachers in the Philippines will just get away with this kind of antics. Even before the sexual harassment law was enacted in PI, our schools had already installed procedures and processes to prevent student from being abused by person’s of authority.
The lesson that I learned from that experience is not to accept anything at it’s face value. In fairness to my teacher, he was really a good sort because after I posted here yesterday, it came to my mind that there were other physics term that I learnt from him. It’s the law of inertia, and there were two classes of inertia: inertia in motion and inertia at rest.
I remembered that law of inertia explains why we jerks forward and backwards when we are in a moving vehicle. We will jerk forward when the vehicle stop abruptly because the inertia in motion is still going and when the vehicle moves forward we will jerk backward because of the inertia at rest.

SC’S OPENING REMARKS
Good evening everyone!
We could have been here five years ago. That was Lim Aviation’s original plan, but the project such as this is never easy. This requires a lot of work, preparation, and study because change is never easy. It took sometime before we got everything right. Even then something always came up, another problem another hurdle. The timing was never right until we realized there’s no such thing as perfect timing. One could never foresee let alone prepare for everything, more than the research and the numbers.
What we needed was a leap of faith. Faith that change can be good. Faith that this project worth it, faith that whatever happens we can and we get through it. Ultimately it’s our faith in each other that can ensure the success of this endeavour.
So tonight, we are celebrating not just the launch of the new hangar but, the courage it took to believe in something worthwhile. To fight for it and to work for it; with that I would like to thank everyone who took that leap of faith with me our staff, our engineers, everyone including our families.
Physics makes our planes fly but it’s the people we love who make our planes soar. Thank you!

The BCWMH team has outdone themselves again. another teleserye would probably just have settled for a so-so speech but not bcwmh. You know that SC’s speech was really thought out – well crafted, descriminating in its choice of words. the speech, while it spoke about the dream project of Lim Aviation could very well have also spoken about the personal journey of SC and Maya’s relationship. Most of all, it also spoke directly to the viewers, well at least to me personally. For i am sure, we all have experienced or will be experiencing getting out of our comfort zones and taking that leap of faith into the unknown. Much like deciding to migrate to another country as we did, realising in the end that indeed, “change can be good”.
Thank you, Winnie O. for quoting SC’s speech verbatim in your post and to your wonderful summation, as always. I reckon that no one among the present crop of actors in the phils could have delivered that speech as effectively as RY. For that speech, to be effective as it was, had to be delivered by someone with intellectual depth as RY. Someone, who in real life, understands and accepts that everything is temporary (as he said in Che Che Lazaro’s interview) could eloquently deliver a message about change and leaps of faith.
And now, about Jodi/Maya. I had goosebumps when you walked into that room, you know.you were the epitome of classic beauty, subdued elegance and overall class. That can only come from someone who does not try hard to call attention to herself, who is confident on who she is in her entirety. Paulo Coelho said that “simplicity is the greatest of beauties”. Seeing you in that scene made me understand what he meant and made me agree with him completely.
Thank you bcwmy team for another heartwarming episode. Wish ko para sa inyo, sana like SC giving bonuses to his employees, kayo rin bigyan ng abs cbn ng bonus, say X amount for every day that you are able to extend this teleserye and still keep your viewers enthralled. Aba, pwede palang maging sweet ang muntik nang masagasaan. hahaha! Kayo lang ang makakagawa nun!

if i may do some lawyering for the bcwmh team, the bullying problem is still in the process of being built up in the story. perhaps because u have not been a regular viewer that u missed that portion that explains why cho is succumbing to the bullying. as you may know, this is only a sub-plot that showing its resolution is taking some time. in case you will watch the serye on monday, malamang kesa hindi eh wala pa ring resolution ang problem of bullying. and in case you will skip watching the following days and find time to watch it again on friday, baka by then resolved na itong problem na to and you would not know what transpired.
if i may speak on behalf of those who still find this show worth our while, we take no offense that you express your opinion…but pls avoid using foul language. and if you will consider my own opinion, too, words that look like, sound like in bad taste, is offensive.

WHAT A REMARKABLE SPEECH!!!! To the writers you all deserve a standing ovation!!! So touching!!!
It was the launch of the new hangar, but more momentous, it was the launch of SC and Maya’s relationship. Gracefully she sat across, making eye contact, clapping, smiling and eventually teary eyed watching and intently listening to his speech, as she bathe in his love. He, also making eye contact with her was speaking to her heart and touching her soul. Their’s , was a relationship that started off as an arm’s length, impersonal cash for labor transaction, with SC employing Maya as Abby’s Yaya and SC agreeing to Maya’s condition that he sends her to FA school. It was an interdependent and mutual investment for both of them. The relationship possessed many attributes that we can associate with marriage; emotional and economic investment, interdependence and expectations that the relationship will endure absent bad behavior. The “project” meaning the relationship would not be easy. But SC and Maya has a “nondoing” approach to love, rather than forcing the matter by seeking it out and pushing it along, they simply keep themselves open and receptive to love, letting it happen naturally. Although they came together naturally, they still have a lot to learn about each other, which comes with time and, inevitably, will encounter conflicts but none that they cannot work out together. “Kapit Bisig” attititude.

Kasi SC was affirming to Maya that she was worth the leap of faith he took, when he fell in love with someone not in his “social class or league.” Dating someone who is out of your league is not always easy, as they’ve experience with Nikki initially, because leagues of people are generally separated by financial aspects of life (sad, but true). These societal standards can affect a couple, but SC never made Maya feel unworthy of his love. Hindi katulad ng mga Tse girls (CTO: Winnie). He genuinely loved her and affirmed that she is “worthwhile and worth fighting for.” Aaayyyy naku pamatay talaga and speech. Beneath their overtly visual romance, is the visceral experience they both feel when relating to one another. They can be silly, child like (SC taking Maya’s picture sleeping), sad, clueless (too many to mention for Maya) but this paves the way for creating a safe space for self -expression. Maya can be herself, bubbly, naïve at times and SC having a resolute attitude because of his professional affiliation. Their relationship is buoyed up beautifully by acceptance, gentle humor and curiosity. Haaayyy the feeling of “being in love” is intoxicating…
I can’t end my review without appreciating Maya’s elegant, and classy look with matching impeccable charm. ..may pakindat kindat pa sya. kay Engr Gutierrez. Buti nalang hindi sya nakita ni SC, baka nag tiger mode sya. It was such a proud moment when SC introduced Maya…”everyone this is Maya, my girlfriend.” SC you’re the man!!!

Leap of Faith
Richard’s leap of faith started even before he knew it, way before he realized it. For that leap of faith was interwoven and sealed by a cute sweet little angel who’s been keeping him alive when every inch of his soul was dying a slow and unbearably painful death. He drowned himself with work, running his company, day in and day out burying all the sadness, the melancholy consuming his very core. For what was holding him up to keep on going for the past five years was his Little Princess, named Abby. For he may had been cold or lukewarm to everyone, including the two older kids, Luke and Nikki but he made himself warm and strong if only for that little angel who needed him, who craved for his love, who demanded his utmost attention. For a long while, he took a vow to go the great lengths to help Abby his little angel bring her voice back, her smile, her childhood; and even envisioning for that day when he would hear her calling him Daddy, laughter she would be letting all out and all the stories she would have wanted to tell and share.
That fateful day came on a typical day at the airport when Maya Dela Rosa, a provincial lass saved Abby’s life (Richard’s Little Princess) from harm’s way. And that encounter forever changed the lives of not just Abby’s but the two older kids as well, Luke and Nikki’s and ultimately Richard’s. Maya’s overflowing unconditional love for Abby radiated well and beyond the Lim family, slowly growing into their bruised and wounded hearts until they all awakened gradually healing each of their grief-stricken souls. Abby’s monumental transformation and that special bond between his Little Princess and the godsend Maya captured his curiosity to look from a different standpoint and when he did, he was enthralled, and he never looked back. He had been pulled closer and deeper and his heart had never been the same for the seed of love had grown so deep, rooted and blossomed until finally he took that leap of faith and pursued his love, Maya’s love.
And currently, as he took another leap of faith, with the launching of the new hangar project in Clark, he was filled with joy that Maya, the love of his life, his source of strength was standing before him and beside him as he unveiled the launching of this new expansion project of Lim Aviation Services. As he delivered his speech in front of everybody, his staff, engineers and industry colleagues, everyone seemed to be enamored by his speech, but Richard’s soul in the truest sense was speaking directly to Maya’s heart, declaring his gratitude, his joy, his love and ultimately his soul to the woman who changed his life around to a state he never imagined he could ever be again. His eyes, the window of his soul, wholeheartedly expressing deep and lasting gratitude for allowing him a touch of eternity the moment she accepted and embraced him, his love and allowing him to take residence in the purest of her heart. For what matters most in Richard’s realm, is the love that he and Maya shared for that particular moment and will be sharing and nurturing hopefully for the rest of their lives. He now understood that life is a gift and time is truly precious for every moment of every day needs to be treasured. He knew now that the light of life is right in front of him, staring at him affectionately, sending him eternal love straight to his very soul. For that fleeting moment, forever is within his reach, within his and Maya’s reach. He is after all, coming home…
As the event progressed, the two stood side by side each other; he was reaching out to hold the hand of the most important person in his life, the love of his life, Maya. Unmindful of all the watchful eyes, Richard and Maya were into each other, loving every moment shared by two hearts beating as one. And later, the inseparable couple moved around, proudly he introduced his beloved to everyone while gracing the guests with their presence. And after the program, they retreated from the background to spend some “alone time” sharing with the success of the launching. Maya, so happy and full of love, congratulated Richard and in turn, he tenderly and lovingly embraced her with content and pure bliss planted on his face and he the rested on her shoulder. Finally, he is home…
He was lucky. Indeed he is… For there is nothing in life that love cannot change. For whenever we feel love, our hearts feel much lighter; it lets us feel the tenderness and warmth giving that sense of “wholeness”; it helps us bear hardships without grievances; it can change the night into day yet make things so much sunnier and brighter for us. It is of great motivation to want to keep growing and making ourselves better for it gives us that purpose and goal to work for as it is the only thing that can bring us pure bliss, contentment and peace within ourselves.
This is a less organized reaction paper, I guess it’s because I’ve expected most of what happened in today’s episode ( e.g. Maya being the center of attraction, Ser Chief acting like the proud BF,Liza and Atty Ryan teasing the lovers,The “mean girls” giving Maya a once over, Niknic having a moment to themselves, Ser Chief’s inspirational speech)
~> I kinda got irked by Nikki’s acting when she fell. She’s maarte in the truest sense of the word. And what’s with all the exaggerated reaction of the whole household esp Luke and Manang Fe. She has no wounds for Pete’s sake! So please…kalma lang?
~> Nikki, what a way to raise your concern about Nicollo’s feelings. You’re one “sneaky” lass.
~> This is just me, but Nicolo’s eyes kinda scares me.Is it because he has deep set eyes?
~> Cris V. I officially love you! I really like how you act around Maya and Ser Chief! Continue the good work!
~> Cho, you should start telling your mom. Kute’s gonna get worried sick and you wouldn’t want that right?
~> Maya’s outfit is the epitome of “simplicity”. The dress isn’t a Vavavoom! type, but since we love Maya and in our little hearts we wish for her Cinderella night to be perfect, she still stood out of the crowd in our eyes.
I personally liked the little black dress more. It looked more foxy than this purple dress. In short, it got spunk! Well, then again, this purple dress has a different purpose. I guess the goal of the dress is to make Maya appear more “classy”. Oh well….just my opinion.
~> Ser Chief’s outfit also made him stand out. Well, since most of the guests wore black and his was gray. Still, he’s a real looker so either way, he will get noticed. Oh and yes, he’s the man of the hour since he owns the hangar.
~> The holding hands under the table is the best part of this episode.
~> Catherine should learn a lesson. I so hated that part when Ser Chief gave her a beso. It’s like the kiss of death!
I’m still waiting for that scene where Ser Chief will make it clear to Catherine that he’s not gonna do business with her anymore since she lacks basic business ethics ( gossiping, hello??)
The Preview
~> Well, I guess the end is really near. We get to see more physicallity between the leads ( e.g. the car scene where Maya held Ser Chief’s biceps *dies of envy*)
Then there’s the part where he bought a bouquet of flowers and told the kids it’s for Maya ( Maybe a thank you gesture for her support during the launch). The kids are going to accompany Ser Chief to pick up Maya. A great family moment and a prelude of things to come.
Of course, there’s the hesitation on Maya’s face when Ser Chief told her that his parents are visiting soon. The next hurdle in their relationship is “meeting the parents”.
I’m also quite curious as to the role of that elderly woman at the hangar launch who asked about how Ser Chief and Maya met. Is she by any chance his Aunt? or perhaps Alex’s mom? I remember her from old films and tv shows kase.
Oh well, at least it’s clearer now that Nikki has accepted Maya based on the preview. At least that’s over and done with.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! This episode is so full of love I can strongly feel it in the air and lumalabas pa sa TV screen!!!
a. I LOVE how SC took care of Maya and more. Ginawa niyang special (as in spell VIP) si Maya sa launch. He introduced her to all his colleagues and in so doing leveled her status up. Di siya tuloy malapitan ng mga ingitera…o baka hinarang lang ng mga adik yung mga inggitera sa kanto at binantaan na wag manggulo.
- I LOVE the way SC tastefully gave Maya priority over whatever her name is. “Excuse Me!” lang pala ang para sa kanya, a subtle way of saying I don’t want to spend more time with you than what’s necessary.
- I LOVE LOVE SC’s speech! It gave tribute to Maya, at the same time, it embodied a lot of hometruths and inspiring words. I particularly like the last part…”It’s the people we love who make our plane soar!” (nagkalightbulb moment ako dito, ito pala ang significance ng mga paper planes ni Abby, I don’t know if this was explained in previous episodes but ngayon ko lang naintindihan)
- I so Love the kilig parts…the lambingan parts which looked and felt real!!! ramdam ko ang love between the two, kudos to RY and JSM for a job well done!!! Altho, yung sa teaser nagtaka ako why all of a sudden nasa backseat na silang dalawa and biglang nagkaroon ng driver si SC. Diba si SC ang nagdrive? But regardless, I still love that scene. Ang sweet nilang dalawa doon!!!
- And finally, I LOVE the reconciliation of Nik-nic!!! Kahit yung pagka-OA ni Nikki sa scene na yun was so cute! Si Janella lang yata ang lovable kahit kontrabida at suplada!!

Ser Chief is the ultimate CEO with an added bonus, he really cares for his staff and treat them as a team and one of the keys to his success.
This is the second time that Maya hear Ser Chief speak, first was at the Summit. This time though she was mesmerized by his speech and his demeanor.
Ser Chief, (Richard Yap gave justice to his role), was wonderful and his speech wasn’t just about the launching of the hangar but when he looks at Maya,
he”s telling her what they had to overcome to reach this stage in their relationship. Maya becomes teary watching and listening to Ser Chief, she understood what he’s telling her with his words and his eyes.
Ser Chief proudly introduces Maya to his world as his girlfriend. Maya is so calm and confident. She’s not frazzled at all because she knows that Ser Chief is at her side to support her. When Ser Chief hugs Maya after she congratulates him, we can see his happiness.
If Ser Chief is Maya’s wind beneath her wings, then Maya is Ser Chief’s soulmate. Her love for him and his children is unmeasurable. Ser Chief and Maya’s relationship is strong now. His parent’s reaction will not matter as much. They will accept Maya when they witness her love for their Ricky and their grandchildren, and when they see Maya’s beauty inside and out.
At last Ser Chief tells Maya he’s so lucky to have her. Maya, you achieved your dreams with your added bonus, Ser Chief.

Watching this episode really made me in awe of the writers, directors and acting abilities of our bidas – see they are really all out na of the PDA-pinks (as opposed to blues) we were looking for… kse nga naman hindi pa 100% noon sa mga bata kaya restrained-na-restrained ang kanilang ‘showing off’ their love for each other, even when they were just alone at the condo. And now look at where we are, give na give (at read na read naman ng lahat) ang kanilang love for each other!!! (I specially like it and the feeling of Kiligggg when SC reached out and hold Maya’s hand while they were listening to one of the speeches)
Since late na late na ako for my review and am sure marami nang nosebleed and awesome reviews from all of you MINKs and MONKs kaya I am choosing to concentrate on Ser Chief’s speech.

We could have been here five years ago. (Limang taon na ang nakalipas ng feeling ko nagunaw na ang aking mundo)
That was Lim Aviation’s original plan. (Marami kaming plano talaga noon ni Alex…)
But a project such as this is never easy. (Pero wala eh, pumanaw sya at naiwan ako kasama ng mga bata)
This requires a lot of work, preparation and study because change is never easy. (Ang hirap talaga nang biglaan maglaho ang masasayang araw ko…)
It took some time before we got everything right and even then something always came up (Kahit nung dumating ka sa buhay namin, at nakilala mo ako in my worst moments … [sorry mas maganda englishin yung ‘moments’])
Another problem, another hurdle. (Dami mo kse palpak nung umpisa eh, more than 3 strikes if I recall)
The timing was never right …until we realized there is no such thing as perfect timing. (Kahit wala ka minsan sa timing, dahil puro kapit-bisig ang bukam-bibig mo, bumigay na rin kami ng mga bata isa-isa…)
One could never foresee, let alone prepare for everything. (Hindi ko talaga inaasahan na meron ulit magpapaligaya sa amin… sa akin…)
More than the research and the numbers, what we needed was a leap of faith. (ipinaresearch at detective work na kita noon, pero ang kailangan pala eh letting it go, para bumukas ang bintana ng puso ko…)

Leap of Faith (Part 2)
Maya’s biggest leap of faith started the moment she stepped into that doorway of the Lim residence. Naïve, pure-hearted, full of dreams yet scratched by the harsh and cruel realities of life, she agreed working for Richard Lim to care for that little angel named Abby in exchange for that chance to finish her education so she can later pursue her dream of becoming a Flight Attendant. Equipped with nothing but her positive outlook in life, her determination to get to her intended goal and her fondness for this little angel who captured her heart, she took the challenge and never looked back. Little did she know, that there’s more to that household than Abby’s inability to speak. For she later discovered that she’s walking into a big house filled with grief, loneliness, emptiness; a house, not quite a home, a family blinded by misery, not seeing eye to eye nor heart to heart, engulfed with pain, heaviness of heart, for everyone seemed to have died along with the matriarch of the house.
But with her determination to help not only the little angel she had grown to love and cherished, she set out to turn things around, no matter how hard, no matter how difficult for she could not bear the thought of this family to rut in vain; living on the exterior yet dying a slow and painful death inside. She made it her mission to focus on Abby by showering her with unconditional love, hoping that would be enough to turn things around. Her patience paid off slowly for that unlimited, unconditional love and that special bond had grown so deep paving the way to that monumental transformation of the little angel who had been traumatized with her mother’s death that her speech seemed to have been lost and faded away, including her childhood. Maya’s perseverance, unwavering persistence brought back the life and liveliness in Abby, enabling her to experience the childhood she never had known, feelings and emotions she never felt and understood, activities she’s never been aware of, and traits she should have been equipped with as she stepped out of her sheltered, protected life and into the real world, with all the good, the odds and ambiguities amidst life’s many challenges. And yet, beyond her call of duty, she not only made impact in Abby but even the older kids who like their youngest sibling had been adrift, lost and needed some serious shepherding. And her equally significant achievement by far, had been melting the cold-hearted master of the house from the stern, serious and distant father, metamorphosing into the loving and committed father, spending more time bonding, reconnecting with the kids and rebuilding what was once broken, anguished and inconsolable family.
As she triumphed with her mission, she slowly morphed her lifelong dream into reality. Her efforts had been noticed, appreciated and highly regarded by those she had met along the way in her quest for that dream. Her dedication, commitment, sleepless nights to reach her dream came to fruition with the wings she earned from training school. She has reached her destination, her dream was fantasy no more; it’s now as real as she had envisioned it to be. She had spread her wings like butterflies do, squirting out of that cocoon, embracing freedom to fly and soaring even higher as days went by. Exploring her new adventures, fueling with more excitement, her stories never ending and her smile always ready to those needing it. She definitely has reached her coveted life-long goal and she has arrived at the end destination…finally.
And unexpectedly, as she had grown to love the older Lim kids equally as she did with Abby, she was drawn to Richard too; pulled into his silent magic spell… fell deeply in love for the very first time. With complications waiting to happen she tried staying away only to be drawn right back until she could no long resist, she gave in, took another leap of faith, this time with the man she loved the most. And they never looked back. They stood strong, united and vulnerable at times, but that same faith kept them together, ready to face anything and everything if only to fight for what they truly believed in, in each other and the love they shared. And with the launching of the new hangar, Maya would be on the spotlight and at the center of Richard’s world as he officially introduced her to his own turf. But Maya’s been ready all along; she has undeniably prepared for the occasion. When she emerged into the venue, all eyes were on her for she’s like a bud blossoming into a beautiful flower where everybody’s invited to experience beauty, simplicity laced with class and elegance, confidence emanating from the purest of her heart and a personality beaming with wit, radiance and warmth. She had won them all. For Maya is the epitome of wit, beauty, calm, confidence and most importantly love radiating all over her, all because of one person, her soul mate, her Sir Chief.

Thank you guys for the updates when we couldn’t get to watch it during its airtime..
I’m a working mom/housewife but mind you, I never missed a single episode. My evening routine…watch the episode online(soon as i get home from work)…dinner…lurk on PEX until bedtime. Buti na lang college na ang daughter ko (no more tutor stuffs at night). For almost a year now, ganyan ang life ko, at hindi ako nagsasawa. Thank you din sa mga writers sa EB.

Good evening everyone. (Maganda din talaga ang araw at gabi ko dahil kasama kita)
We could have been here five years ago. (Ang sabi nga nila eh limang taon na daw ang nakalipas nung magbago ka at hindi na ulit nangiti)
That was Lim Aviation’s original plan. (Alam ko naman na deep down hindi mo talaga planong maging mausoleum ang mansyon nyo)
But a project such as this is never easy. (Ang hirap kaya nung bago akong dumating sa buhay nyo, puro ka tiger-mode)
This requires a lot of work, preparation and study because change is never easy. (Andami kong hirap pero gusto ko talagang maging FA at siempre crush din kita at nakita ko kung paano kayo hindi masaya ng mga bata)
It took some time before we got everything right and even then something always came up (Hayyy, marami ding beses na muntik na akong mapa-alis o kaya kusang aalis… )
Another problem, another hurdle. (Naalala mo nung summit? Sige na nga, sabi mo nga, jelly ka lang, kaya sige hindi ko na uungkatin…)
The timing was never right …until we realized there is no such thing as perfect timing. (Kaya ngayon nandito na tayo, mahal mo ako at mahal din kita, at mahal na rin tayo ng mga bata… kapit-bisig kaya ang galing na ng timing!)One could never foresee, let alone prepare for everything. (Hindi ko rin talaga inaasahan na ang isang Richard Lim eh magmamahal sa akin ng ganitong todong-todo)
More than the research and the numbers, what we needed was a leap of faith. (Wala akong ginawang research. At ang numbers lang na ginawa ko, budgeting. Para marami pa akong mabibiling damit na tulad ng suot ko ngayon)
Faith, that change can be good. Faith, that this project is worth it. (Hindi ko rin alam ang tagalog ng faith? Basta ang alam ko, matutunaw na ako sa lagkit ng mga tingin mo!!!)

So tonight, we are celebrating not just the launch of this new hangar but the courage it took to believe in something worthwhile, to fight for it and to work for it.

Particularly love that silk violet tie!)….
Ok back to your post hihihi…Kung hindi ko nabasa yung suggest ni Jan dun sa planting and harvesting mo, sasabihin ko sana we wait and see kung ano ang translation ng BCWMH staff. Yun naman pala eh si mensa sistah have the correct answer! Reaping and sowing lang pala hahaha! Salamat talaga at dahil sa iyong two-fers eh naging updated pa rin ako this week at me kasama pang picture ng Avel creation!

Methinks same set of guests nga sa wedding of the century, naku pero di ba ending daw ng book1 eh wedding? I agree, the speech is very touching but I also think that, that speech was also directed to BCWMH family since their anniversary is coming. I said these because I watch their endeavor and struggles how to make this show a success and it was a team effort to get them where they are now at Che Lazaro show.

MANILA, Philippines — The International Labor Organization (ILO) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) are eyeing “Maya” as the poster girl for the promotion of the Kasambahay Law.
In an interview, Labor Undersecretary Rebecca Chato said negotiations have been ongoing to get actress Jodi Sta. Maria, who plays “Maya,” the nanny in the popular TV series “Be Careful with My Heart,” to be part of their information campaign about kasambahay law.
The law, which took effect on June 4, aims to provide adequate welfare and social protection to Filipino household service workers (HSWs).
Chato said they saw Sta. Maria as a good example for HSWs because her character allowed nothing and no one to stop her from chasing and fulfilling her dreams.
“She worked hard to uplift herself so she would not remain an HSW forever,” the DOLE official said, adding that the ILO has been helping them promote the law.
In the hit TV series, Maya is an idealistic provincial girl who dreams of becoming a flight attendant but ended up becoming a nanny for a wealthy family in Manila. She took the job in exchange for an educational scholarship from her boss and eventually fulfilled her ambition.
Ana Valencia, ILO national project coordinator for domestic workers program, said that the ILO has already forged an agreement with SM cinemas for the showing of a series of infomercials on kasambahay law beginning September.
Valencia agreed with Chato in saying that Sta. Maria could be a good kasambahay model as many HSWs can easily identify with her character as “Maya.”
Aside from Maya’s love story, Valencia said Sta. Maria’s character is a good example as she was able to study and her employer treats her well.
The kasambahay law entitles house help to wages of at least P2,500 if they are employed in Metro Manila, P2,000 in other cities and first-class municipalities, and P1,500 elsewhere in the country.
Workers are also entitled to Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth and Pag-Ibig coverage.
Chato said the SSS, Pag-IBIG and Philhealth have been working on developing a unified system of registration and enrollment of HSWs.

One rainy night in the last week of June, a social worker from New York with her friends, the most prominent lady dentist in St. Luke’s Global City, her mother-in-law and her medical mentor converged at a palatial house in Victoria Valley, the site of a shoot for an episode of “Be Careful with My Heart,” the teleserye.
The wide-eyed bunch breathe in the cinematic details, the production design and the cast. But they only had eyes for “Ser Chief” aka Richard Yap, the lead actor who hardly acts—he’s not going to be an action star anytime soon that’s for sure—but has swept ladies off their feet wherever they are in the world, across all economic classes.
Why? Whatever it is, the soft-spoken, bespectacled and clean-cut Yap has got “it,” which arouses the ladies’ so-called “kilig” to the max. Sigh.
ABS-CBN’s “Be Careful with My Heart,” the weekday drama—with a weekend rewind—has made fans out of unlikely teleserye viewers.
Inspired by Jose Mari Chan’s pop ditty “Please be Careful with My Heart,” the series shot to No. 1 on daytime TV, thanks to a combined feel-good plot and a winsome cast of characters.
The comparative ratings released by both AGB Nielsen (Mega Manila) and Kantar Media (nationwide) for June 24 to 28 show that “Be Careful” holds a considerable edge over its main competitor on GMA 7, “The Ryzza Mae Show,” hosted by child sensation Ryzza Mae Dizon.
For that time period, “Be Careful’s” daily ratings ranged from 23.3 percent to 25.9 percent on AGB Nielsen, and 23 percent to 25.2 percent on Kantar Media. On the other hand, “The Ryzza Mae Show’s” ranged from 15.1 to 16.3 percent on AGB Nielsen, and 10.5 to 12.1 percent on Kantar Media.
According to Kantar Media’s overall program rankings, also for June 24 to June 28, “Be Careful” was the only daytime show that made it to the top five for the whole week.
Hooked
Hayley Almazan, a 40-year-old operating room nurse living in Toronto, Canada, was going through a tough time early this year when a friend urged her to watch the show.
“She said I’d get a good laugh. And I did … I got hooked,” Almazan said. “I don’t watch anything else.”
Almazan said she has given up watching TV two years ago, with all the gratuitous sex and violence onscreen. “Be Careful,” she said, was the sole reason she picked up the remote again.
The show airs at 1:30 a.m. in Toronto on The Filipino Channel (TFC).
“Be Careful”—which shares some plot similarities with “The Sound of Music”—tells the story of Maya (Jodi Sta. Maria), a provincial lass who dreams of becoming a flight attendant. She comes to Manila where she bumps into widower Richard Lim or Ser Chief (Yap), a businessman in the aviation industry. In exchange for Richard’s help, Maya agrees to be his children’s nanny.
Obsessed
“I watch it during my ‘relaxation time.’ It’s light and charming, but it makes me cry at times, too,” said corporate lawyer Pia Zobel-San Diego, who makes sure to find time to watch the show either on her TV phone or on the Internet, when she comes home. “My colleagues and I actually talk about it during meetings.”
Marlyn Javier, 50, a finance manager and accountant at a construction company, is so obsessed with “Be Careful” that she makes sure she’s free at 11:45 a.m.
“Honestly, it’s really the highlight of my day. I even move my meetings for it,” said Javier, who collects everything “Be Careful”—DVDs, soundtracks, news and magazine clippings.
“I meet with a lot of auditors and lawyers as part of my work. Surprisingly, a lot of them also watch the show,” she said. “Dealing with money and people can be tedious, but seeing Maya and Richard handle their problems with so much positivity inspires me.”
Before following “Be Careful,” 27-year-old architect Marie Lou Chris Camarillo, was not much of a fan of local soaps and preferred watching foreign TV series instead. She initially found “Be Careful” to be baduy, but gradually had a change of heart after watching episode after episode.
“I used to think that all teleseryes are the same—crying, kidnapping, shouting … but ‘Be Careful’ is different. I get stressed at work, but after watching the show, kinikilig at happy na ’ko (I am thrilled and happy) at the end of the day,” Camarillo said.
Target viewers
Occupying the late morning time slot, “Be Careful’s” original target viewers were housewives and their househelp, according to Jeffrey Jeturian, who directs the series’ episodes together with Mervyn Brondial.
But as the TV series went on, Jeturian, also an acclaimed filmmaker, said he started receiving text messages from his friends, requesting that the show be moved to prime time, so they need not sneak out of their work just to watch it.
“One of them works at a bank, and fears that she may get fired if caught watching the show on her phone,” Jeturian said. “Then one time, while on a location hunt in Nasugbu, Batangas, we dined in a popular restaurant, whose owner is a big fan of the show. Via TFC, overseas Filipinos have also caught on with the craze. “There’s a steady stream of balikbayan asking us if they can visit our set and meet Ser Chief,” he said. “Our running joke is that Ser Chief has become a tourist attraction.”
According to the “Be Careful” staff, the cast went on a world tour and held shows in the United States, Canada and the United Arab Emirates. They’re also slated to visit Singapore, Japan and Europe.
Given that most professionals are not really inclined to watch drama series, especially the local ones, Jeturian said that having such audience was an achievement. “And they’re not ashamed to admit that they watch the show,” he said.

Asked what could have possibly attracted professionals to “Be Careful,” sociologist and pop culture expert Dr. Gerald Abergos posited that some of them perhaps relate to Ser Chief, who has to balance his time between career and family.
“The show is a sort of escape for these professionals; it’s like a fairy tale if you will,” he said. “And I think it’s comforting for them to see that while Ser Chief is away, there’s someone like Maya who loves and takes care of his children.”
Teddy Dullano, a 30-year-old systems applications and productions consultant at a multinational IT corporation, echoed Dr. Abergos thoughts, saying that he indeed sees himself in Ser Chief. “It’s about his time management. You have to give equal importance to your family and loved one—’di lang puro work (not all work),” he said.
Inspiring, motivational
Abergos said Maya’s unwavering resolve inspires some professionals who religiously watch “Be Careful” to strive even harder. “Filipinos readily embrace success stories … In real life, success stories can be few and far between, kaya masaya tayo kapag napapanood natin (that’s why we’re happy when we watch them),” he said.
A service level manager at an international IT corporation, Louiezhel Borja, 29, said that watching Maya keeps her motivated. “I admire Maya’s perseverance; she doesn’t let her humble background get in the way of achieving her dreams. If she can do it, there’s no way I can’t,” said Borja, adding that “Be Careful” is her “alarm clock” before going to work at 3 p.m.
But for Jodi Sta. Maria who plays Maya, there’s really no big secret why “Be Careful” manages to attract not only housewives, but also working professionals. “It’s something we can all relate to,” she said, adding that “everyone falls in love.”
“Or maybe they see the show as a stress-buster. Kikiligin at tatawa lang sila (They’ll just laugh and be thrilled),” added Sta. Maria, who is being considered by the International Labor Organization and the Department of Labor and Employment to serve as poster girl for the “kasambahay law.”
The movie
The unexpected success of “Be Careful”—which will be turned into a movie by Star Cinema for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival—is something Sta. Maria still can’t believe and explain. For the 31-year-old actress, playing the role of Maya “was just another job” when it was first offered to her.
“It has always been heavy drama for me, so I was just really excited to be doing a romantic comedy. I didn’t know the show was going to be this big,” she said. “‘Be Careful’ became a hit because of all the people working on- and off-cam—the writers, directors, production staff, crew. This is a group effort.”
Asked until when “Be Careful” will last, Jeturian gave a rather vague response: “As Ma’am Charo (Santos-Concio) said, ‘forever.’ Seriously, if ever it will end this year, there can always be a book two.”

I like the way the story enfolds, kaya lang may wardrobe malfunction si Sir Chief, his collar was unbuttoned bukod tangi sa lahat ng gentlemen in the gathering but it was covered up by the sweetness of Sir Chief introducing Maya as his girlfriend.

IN A QUANDARY
Richard and Maya’s relationship is finally on the right track. United, they are going to be a force to be reckoned with. With the children’s blessings secured and the rousing acceptance of Richard’s friends and colleagues obtained, the lovers can temporarily calibrate their journey on auto-pilot. With the most recent events, at the home front and at work, that had, for some time, got them beleaguered, they openly welcome a much deserved respite on the drive back from Clark to Manila. Thoroughly exhausted both mentally and physically, Richard and Maya find themselves melt in each other’s arms as they doze off in the backseat of a chauffeured car. Bliss is the state where their hearts and their minds dwell, at the moment.
While the adults seem to enjoy blessed peace and tranquility, the children’s world seems to go topsy- turvy. Alone, Cho is plagued with the problem of bullying while Nikki finds herself trying to understand a strange feeling that she has most recently become aware of.
Puppy love is indeed alive and well in the world of Be Careful with my Heart. Nikki Grace Lim has fallen in love with Niccolo Cortez although she just does not know it yet. With her hormones causing havoc in her system, she struggles to understand what is happening with her. She is unable to sleep, she is unable to focus and she is acting strangely, as her friends have observed. Initially, Nikki openly displays her aversion towards Aira and her disapproval of Niccolo’s relationship with the latter. With the news that they had broken up, she feels mortified to know that she is inwardly rejoicing. She is elated that Niccolo is currently emotionally unattached and he seems to be seeking comfort in her company. At the same time, she is disappointed that he seems to still want to pursue Aira’s affection again. Last year, she remembers being easily exasperated with him. She found him annoying and irritating. However, she also strangely discovers that she secretly liked being in his presence. Although she seems to like him, she found herself unable to control herself from insulting him, demeaning him and despising him. In short, she is demonstrating exactly the opposite of what she feels towards him. She is rather perplexed!
Cho, on the other hand, is trying to handle his 7 year old problem alone. Presently, he is being bullied by his classmates. The boys are actively harassing him. They not only take away his lunch but they have also resorted to destroying his personal belongings. Trying to act like a big boy, as his father has admonished before he left to work overseas, Cho does not tell his mother or his grandparents about the abuse that he is experiencing at school. However, the most recent events prompt him to do something. He attempts to reach out to his parents. He starts to write a letter to his Papa Pards but quickly abandons that idea when he overhears through a phone call that the latter is presently having some problems at work, himself. He asks for his mother’s support by asking her to bring him to school. He feels that with her physical presence, the boys might just back down. However, this last attempt to address his situation does not seem to work either. He finds himself deeply troubled but he does not know what to do. He is definitely faced with a challenging conundrum!
It will be interesting how the Creative and Production teams address these two situations. However, I know that whatever and however they choose to resolve these issues, it will be both entertaining and edifying.

I love the old-fashioned values of this show, centered upon the innocent love affair of SC and Maya. No intrigue, no audience-manipulating plot devices, just sincere emotions both joyous and heartbreaking. The conversation about how to improve the business of Time Airways made the point that the quality of service to the customers is paramount–an old-fashioned truism of good business. SC said businesses need to treat customers like family. How refreshing in this age of profit and greed trumping more humane values such as caring and service.

One thing about the show, sarap balik-balikan and I still get the same emotions I had the first time I watched the episodes. Andyan pa rin ang kilig kahit wala na ang suspense kasi alam mo na ang susunod na mangyayari. I don’t know if the other teleseryes could do the same.

Nung una talaga I don’t watch it.. tapos kinukwento lang ng friend ko na ofw. Ang nakapagpadecide sa akin to watch it e nung time na sinundot ni Maya si SC (after her confession) then exclaiming.. “totoo ka nga!” Basta after non.. I was hooked.. and then rewatched previous episodes.. while hindi ko masasabi na napanood ko lahat ng episodes (kasi I was really impatient dahil minsan mabagal yung stream or hindi na available *** vid )… nagenjoy pa rin ako and I’m really glad na naging part ako ng community dito. Kasi sobrang saya and we’ve got classmates na will answer our queries lalo na kung newbie ka.

– nang dahil sa show, naibalik ang mga values na nalimutan na nating mga Filipino
– nang dahil sa show na ito, nagkaroon tayo ng napagkukunan ng lakas na sa kahit anong problema na ating kinakaharap, may katapat na solusyon as long na nagka-kapit bisig
– ng dahil sa show na ito, maraming niluluto ang nasusunog, maraming nag le-leave, na le-late, nag a-absent, nag ca-cancel ng appointment, at kung anou-ano pa, but who cares … basta lang maka nood ng episode everyday (ako nga palaging natitisod sa kakatakbo para lang makaabot after ng klase – lol)
– kung isusulat natin ang lahat ng mga magagandang bagay na hatid ng show na ito, baka abutin tayo ng thread 1000 or more (exaggerated ba? i don’t think so)
– meron bang negative na naidulot ang show na ito? of course, meron naman – maraming na comatose, hinimatay – biglang nagkaroon ng temporary na sakit sa puso – merong nagsasabunutan ng dahil sa kilig (kawawa tuloy ang katabi, ubos ang buhok) pati tuloy sarili sinaktan na rin at iyong mga sinabi kong mga nasusunog at iba pa – at marami din ang naghirap – paano hindi maghihirap – naubos ang pera hindi lamang sa pagbili nang lahat ng mga bagay related sa show (DVDs, magazines, newspapers, subscribe sa TFC & iwanttv para lang maka nood replay, notebooks, shirts, mug, concerts tickets, etc..etc…) not to mention ang mga oxygen na binili at mga gamot tuwing himatayin, plus hospital bills na binabayaran everytime na atakehin dahil sa kilig sa show

Naaalala ko to. Ito yung naglayas si Maya dahil nalaman niya na pinaba-backgound check siya ni SC. Iniwan niya yung maleta niya sa guard house tapos kumuha siya ng NBI clearance. Actually, di pala siya naglayas. Sabi ni Maya, sinesante nya raw si SC. Hahahaha.
I don’t really watch TV that much. I was kind of a couch potato when I was younger kaya na porga sa TV nung lumaki. Now, I watch TV again!
