The Value of Friendship
Parang teenager lang ang feeling ko today while I was watching. Remembering the good ole days when having fun and hanging out with friends consumed most of my time. This is what I love about this show, it covers every aspect and stage of our lives, all its unpredictability and many challenges. I remember how simple it use to be, when days use to consist of coloring in the lines, playing with dolls, and going on field trips. Then time slowly takes it away and you wake up one day and it’s replaced by bills, relationship issues, difficult decisions and all the other forks in the road that life throws at you.
Today’s episode is all about friendship, which is undoubtedly a central part of our lives, that at times in the absence of our family, our friends become like family. We need friends for companionship, conversations, and laughter, but the virtue of friendship lies in the support that we get from our friends, and the concern that they show us. When Stacy and Meagan backed out of the slumber party, Maya the “true friend” was willing to sacrifice her monthsary date with SC and bring Nikki and Abby along for the movie. As she expressed later to SC, she knows how it feels to be left out. To be a good friend does not have to mean you have to sacrifice an eye or a limb to prove your loyalty. Being a good friend doesn’t mean you always have ready advice to give. You don’t have to always understand what your friend is going through. But what is great about a good friend is that when you need him or her, they come to your side and listen, and that is exactly what Maya did.
Emman, the “true friend” to Maya. He is Maya’s best and worst critic as he always tells her the truth. He is Maya and SC’s number one fan.He is someone that Maya can count on no matter what happens. He is someone that she can go out with and do whatever and whenever. They enjoy each other’s company, he cheers her up when she is down, and rebukes her to tone down her kilig a notch when she gets too excited. He opened his condo to give Maya a home, chauffeured Maya around, and ready and willing to share his financial blessing with Maya, such as charging her dress on his credit card. Today, Emman was not only a friend to Maya, but to Nikki as well. He arrived at the Lim residence with enthusiasm na may kasabay na tili, that if SC was still masungit would have landed Maya at the principal’s office again. He is the perfect friend, that will bring an all night of fun and laughter for all the “girlalous” in the house, minus Manang Fe, kasi baka hindi nakabili si Manang Fe ng Depends, eh mabaha ang room ni Nikki. LOL!!!

If we follow the natural progression of Emman and Maya’s friendship, it only means that Emman and Kute are going to be either the maid of honor or the bridesmaid in Maya and Sir Chief’s wedding! bwahahahahahaha!Thanks for effectively taking us back to our growing up years, through your post. Sarap bumalik doon kasi ang problema lang ay kung kailan uuwi para hindi mapagalitan ng mga parents kung mali-late sa dinner table, o kaya, if someone will notice that I picked my piggy bank so that I can buy me some sorbetes. Those were the happier days, indeed!

Let me start with a Post Script for yesterday’s episode. We all had fun greeting each other Happy New Year. All these e-scents permeated the forum that I believe that we should all let go our pent-up emotions, clear the air and wish everyone good health and good weekend. Nothing beats relieving ourselves of these good vibes feeling.
This episode reminds us of our teen years. Those innocent days when we felt that the whole world around us was crumbling. We felt confused of our feelings for that someone special not wanting to admit nor show our love for fear of rejection or simply because we were too young. So many sleepless nights, we cried our hearts out, looking for a shoulder to cry on. How lucky Nikki is to have someone like Maya who understands and cares deeply for her.

@Winnie – sorry hindi ako naka-post kaagad dahil pagbalik ko, I realise hindi pala ako ang second dito. Parang nabuhusan ng tubig ang excitementko kasi minsan lang talaga ako maka-pagcomments ng maaga.
Here’s my comments mga kapamilya:
I agree with all of you that this episode is one of those hilarious episodes, abot tenga ang ngisi ng bibig ko. Pero, dahil almost all of you had already mentioned it on your comments, I’ll focus on the other side na medyo seryosong aspect na tinitingnan ko.
Firstly, I would like to say that this Episode today , for me, is the start of the new chapter of our Journey with Maya and SC. I could sense that the writers are focusing on their relationship and inter-actions with the children as well as the progress of the relationship, love and trust for each other. I would like to focus these two words because I’m a firm believer that you can never love a person whom you don’t trust.
I was happy to see that the writers are taking time to show us some proof that Daddy Singkit is not only opening his heart to Maya, he is also showing more reliance and trust in her. In a very simple way, the writers showed this in the scene where SC ask Maya to answer his phone. This seems to be so trivial but it says a lot about the progress of their relationship. Maybe mga kapamilya, you’ll not agree with me on this because Richard was also driving that time, but for me it means so much.
Richard is a very private person, and allowing his girlfriend to answer his phone showed that he has full trust and confidence in her. Then, there’s his acceptance of Emman into his private abode because Maya trusted Emman as friend. The other point that I would like to emphasize, it’s the scene before the end of this episode. Doon sa scene where SC told Maya “Let’s find out what’s happening with Nikki, I have the feeling that she’s not telling us about something.” I could fee that , here in this scene, Daddy Singkit is actually treating Maya as his better half where he puts his whole Trust that this person would be able to help him out with his concern about her precious young lady in Nikki. Lastly, he agreed to watch a lovey-dovey movie just to make her happy even I he really doesn’t want to.
You might say kapamilya, where I’m going with all of these? This is where I’m going: With all the trust that Daddy Singkit is placing on Maya, I believe that there is also very high expectation, and this will lead to a potential conflict. Depends on where the writers will leads us, I saw this conflict unfolding next week doon sa big revelation ni Nicki. If Nicki will have the courage to open her heart to Maya and everybody doon sa slumber party nila about her feeling for Niccolo, Nicki will be expecting that Maya won’t tell Daddy Singkit about it. It will be private and confidential amongst them people in that room. We already saw the text that Daddy Singkit sent her, for sure during their own late night monthsary celebration, SC will ask Maya, If she had find out anything about Nikki’s problem.
This will put Maya in a predicament, will she or will she not divulge any information? Any which way she goes, there will be repercussions. It will be interesting to see, how this storyline unfolds.
Lastly, I would say that I’m happy hindi sila natuloy sa movie. I was already expecting SC to fall asleep doon sa Cinema and Maya will only get hurt. The writers twist is a lot better. Can’t wait to see what Maya will wear pagbaba niya? Will she be in her pajama’s, like what we saw on the teaser? Or will she change into a party dress? Where will she end up sleeping that night? I bet it won’t be in Nikki’s bedroom, pero, I’m pretty sure that she won’t be in SC’s bedroom either. Baka sa Guest Room siya mag-stay overnight. Kita kits uli tayo nxt week. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
At least she have somebody to talk too. Can’t wait for the next episode, SC is going to surprise Maya with an intimate/romantic monthsary celebration.

TO THE RESCUE
Friendship is that mutual affection between two or more individuals. While friendship comes in different shapes and forms, it however exemplifies characteristics to include affection, sympathy, empathy, honesty, mutual understanding and compassion, enjoyment of each other’s company, the ability to be oneself and express one’s feelings, trust and making mistakes without fear of judgment. Friends usually may share common backgrounds, occupations, interests, or may come from similar demographics. And yet, to be friends mean to be able, time and time again, to stay true to a promise – to maintain that certain reliable presence and openness; to be genuinely interested with each other’s evolving lives; being updated with important milestones, no matter how trivial; celebrating victories, big or small; remembering what makes the other laugh or what makes them tick and offering support in times of sadness or despair. For friends play a vital role – they cheer us when we’re sad or blue; support our endeavors, keep us motivated or challenge us beyond our limits or boundaries, help us with our problems, share our secrets and above all else, friends are there when all is well, happy to be sharing life’s memorable moments.
While Nikki and Abby were prepping up for the slumber party with Nikki’s friends (Megan and Stacey), Luke was stuck in his lonesome. Not wanting to be left out in the corner, he invited his bosom friends to hang out with him. Niccolo and Louie couldn’t be happier to oblige and joined him in no time… playing basketball, video games and playing pranks and teasing Nikki unceasingly. For these guys, the old saying “a friend in need is a friend indeed” goes a long way for true friends will always be there for one another; counting on each other, having good times, laughing, acting silly, and simply enjoying doing things together.
Having strong friendships can get one through tough times. When one is feeling down, friends can make all the difference in the world for they will be there cheering you up; helping regain that positive perspective on life; giving and extending the support in whatever struggles or undertakings one faces; or simply listening to whatever problem, big or small. Friends are wonderful – for they are there for us whenever we need them; they share things with us, and let us share our lives with them. However, sometimes, friends no matter how we want them to be there for us, they simply couldn’t and we are all let alone. For Nikki, going through some rough times with her injury and the weird feelings running thru her young mind, she needed to tell her friends to unburden the load, ease out the burden she had been keeping to herself; she needed to vent out… she needed someone to talk to and someone to make some sense into what she’s going thru… But those friends unfortunately had to back out on her in this anticipated slumber party… If that had not been the worse news she got, she had to contend to the teasing, the pranks of her Kuya Luke and his friends and the uneasy presence that was Niccolo. For how cruel could the world be to this young teenage girl who only wanted to spend time with friends, to vent out, clear her confused mind and hoping to enjoy bonding moments with friends she hold dear.
Si Luke,Niccolo, Louie, ang cute na ang kukulit. Aliw na aliw ako kay Nikki at Eman .
Pero bakit si Maya susunduin lang pala si eman sa labas nun dala2 pa rin bag akala mo uuwi na,kambal niya nga talaga.
Winner yong nagpakalalaki kunyari si Eman pagdating sa loob ng mansyon nung sinalubong ni SC.
Nahi-hypnotize yata talaga si Maya ng mga bag na nasa beige/cream shade ang kulay. Kasi yung dati niyang bag na laging nakakabit sa kanya at itong gamit kanina e palaging nakasabit na naman pero kapag yung black, hindi naman!
Yung pagpapanggap ni Emman na lalaki siya when he greeted SC ay hindi ko na-gets. Parang hindi alam ni SC kung ano ba sya talaga knowing nakita na ni SC ang pink walls ng condo niya, ngayon pa naisipang magpanggap!
Kaya nga eh , wala naman kukuha nung bag , lalabas lang sa gate dala2 pa dapat ata yong bag na bigay ni SC lagi ang gamit para pwede niyang bitawan
Hahaha siguro trip2 lang ni emman lokohin si SC.

About Maya’s bag-magnet tendencies… hindi kaya running gag na to? The writers/director probably notices the adiks fixation on her bags kaya sinasadya na nila minsan.

Bakit nga ba may popcorn? Manunood ng movies pero may wine.Sila naman mag slumber partey…tapos…tapos malalasing sa wine tapos..tapos…parang may fanfic about sa entertainment room akong nabasa eh.
Parang hindi nga bagay yung popcorn sa wine eh. not unless, may laro bang nangangailangan ng popcorn at wine???? Strawberries na lang sana!
Di bale, sabi naman sa FB about the first real kiss ni Maya and SC – nung maghiwalay daw yung lips nila parang may pandikit. Napansin ko rin yun. Proof na talagang lapat na lapat at wapak na wapak! at nanulis din nguso dun ni SC infernez ha!
Eh yung napakagat labi si Ricardo ng malaman na mag oovernight si Maya sa bahay nila. Deadz!
Sana lang, manood sila ng movie habang naka pantulog attire si Maya at si RY, u know na hanggang makatulog sila habang HHWS…….ikaw na bahala sa eksena na gusto mo.

And of course, we are dying for some hot and kilig moments……….whatever Sir Chief is hatching in that handsome head of his, I certainly am waiting with bated breath.
I am with JR R on her prediction that Maya will get tipsy. I also agree with Winnie that they are going to end up in the veranda. And Linda, just take that ride with us for a bit. Follow my train of thought here for a bit. When Maya will get tipsy in the veranda and will end up on Sir Chief’s “hot bod”, he will want to make her to be more comfortable, so he will have to carry her to where she can lay horizontally and rather more comfortably, wouldn’t you think? Any idea where that comfortable horizontal place might be? Definitely not the kitchen counter. Nor the dining table. Not the office desk either. Only one place, in my mind, fits the bill. Guess where that is?

Hmmmm… the dvd, “My Girlfriend’s Engagement” was focused in a scene…is this a clue that may engagement or proposal talaga na mangyayari????
Siguro naman may input si Brad Ryan sa magiging proposal ni Ricardo. Kaya baka hikaw, locket or bracelet lang talaga yun.
Nood sila using laptop?While sipping champagne and munching popcorn. And the hug… Mukhang gigil na gigil si Cardong mekaniko… Ikaw na.
Sa isang taon na pagsasama nila buti naman natuto na syang manggigil. Dahil ba natikman na ang matamis na leps ni Maya?
Sir Chief is so much more tender-hearted than we give him credit for. He is not setting up this monthsary in the veranda, after all. He is going for a better ambiance. He will do it in the garden so that they can both look up at the night sky, reminiscent of the PUS picnic, where they can truly be alone. How romantic is that!
BY THE WAY,Si Maya bitbit na naman ang bag hanggang labas ng bahay para lang salubungin si Emman. Ano ba ang laman nyang bag na yan kaya ayaw iwanan. Sarap ma-ambush at kalikutin ang bag. Gandara pa naman niya!
Hmmm kung natuloy silang manood ng movie, saan niya ibibigay yung box?Dala-dala niya kaya yon hanggang sine? So nakabukol sa pocket niya yung box.
I share the same sentiments, actually. I’m going to terribly miss the show pag wala na siya. BCWMH is not just a show to me. I feel as if I’m part of it. I have to find a coping mechanism to help me bear the separation anxiety when the time comes.
Ano kayang klaseng RING ito?Promise ring or engagement ring. Kaya naman naloloka ang adiks dahil dun sa DVD movie title eh.BUT parang ang simple lang ang dating for be careful for an engagement proposal pero SOMETIMES kung ano yung simple yun yung WAGAS sa KILIG.
ALTHOUGH feeling ko naman parang promise ring pa lang to…pero sarap kung engagement ring kasi all the while sa isip ni SC eh talagang KASALAN ang goal nya when it comes to MAYA kaya kung baga DAY 1 sure na sure sya. Baka naman ala PUS ito na tipong “ONLY IF AND WHEN YOU ARE READY” ang drama ni SC.
Akala ko may-I set up si SC ng home theater nya sa lawn nila, BONGGA! Yun pala LAPTOP ang bitbit sa mahiwagang BENCH.
Anyway, whether it is an engagement ring or not or kahit pa MAHOPIA tayong lahat di na bale at least meron na naman silang moment na I’m sure ikaka-COMATOSE natin lahat.

After 10,000 yrs naka-log in din ako dito sa pex. Ganda naman lahat may colors parang power rangers lang. CUTE talaga ng mga adiks. Sana meron din akong color, nakikisaling pusa po.
Magtatanong lang talaga ako about dun sa headboard ng bed ni Nikki. Nalito lang talaga ako sa room nya. Doon sa familiar sa mga headboard ng beds, bakit nagkaganon yung likuran ng bed ni Nikki? Nagugulumihan ako.

Kaso pag dating ko dito, spazz sana ako ng bongga nakita ko yung mga pictures and hay ang chaket chaket. Kahit na alam mong hindi and wala, ayaw ko pa din makita mga reminders na hanggang PU lang tayo.

But just like in any fairytale, Nikki will be having not one… but two very unlikely fairy godmothers in her Ate Maya and BFF Emman. Nikki, in more ways than one had leaned on her Ate Maya when her goings got tough… she was quick to repair the constellation project that Abby accidentally ruined together with Kute and the houseketeers making it worked perfectly; or cheered her up boosting her confidence when she was too afraid to try the zip line during their Baguio trip; she was ready to comfort her when Dad did not approve her joining the prom as Iñigo’s date… or agreeing to be her chaperone so she could join said prom; or dropping what she was doing to rush to her at the boutique to pick the best replacement gown and eventually chaperoned her to her very first prom; and whatever problems she came across with and will be encountering in her young life – Ate Maya without hesitation would always be there for her, ready to listen, willingly giving her the wisdom she subsequently needs to hear and ever so ready to extend her warm embrace giving her all the comfort and that feeling of security whenever wherever… For Nikki has in her Ate Maya not only a friend, a confidant, a sister, an aunt, a mother, a counselor all rolled into one. And more than that, while she has her Ate Maya, unknowingly she will also have another fairy godmother in Ate Maya’s BFF, Emman. For wherever Maya goes, for sure, Emman will be there, ready to defend, ready to enforce and ready to extend her lively personality to those that Maya holds close to her heart. This duo will always be ready to help each other and help those they love and care, for anything and everything their hearts so desire. And for that, Nikki will be one lucky young lady for she will have this BFFs looking after her, guiding her and mentoring her as she traverses into the complexities of teenage life and if only for that alone, she can be assured they will have her best interest at hand. For when she (Nikki) is alone, they will be her shadow… if she wants to cry, they will be her shoulders… if she needs a hug, they will be her pillow… if she wants to be happy, they will be her sunshine and source of smile… but most of all whenever she needs a friend, they will be there… body and soul.
For in the end, a true friend confides freely, advises justly, supports readily, explores boldly, protects audaciously, endures all patiently, and remains a friend unchangeably. “A real friend is that one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.”

Honestly, I’m glad that Richard married a woman like Melody. Understanding. She’s even friends with Jodi, what more can we ask from Richard’s wife? Considering she’s new to showbiz, I commend her for still being very supportive. Had it been a less well-mannered and good natured wife, I’m pretty sure we could have heard a lot of intrigues about her. But we don’t hear any of that kind. Let’s just be glad that she’s letting Richard do his job.

I can’t help but think that the person who took the picture intended to stir reaction from the viewers of the photo. There was an obvious attempt to put malice between the two ladies. Too bad, some people are like that.
Why can’t people be mature enough to understand what’s real and what’s for TV? It really saddens me.

It seems Maya’s new TOE from Richard is “Attorney”. He finds her to be always persuading him to do something he doesn’t particularly like. But since she is not only Attorney but also his Mahal na Princessa he is willing to try anything she suggests.
Our story today begins at the Lim house with Nicolo, Luke and the other kid (ha ha I can’t remember his name and Luke does not call him out much) playing basketball with Joma. Abby and Doris watches with Doris bored to death. Abby is a bit sad too because Nikki told her they are going to have girl talk first so that she can’t go hang out with her for a while. Doris and Sabel figure out a way to get Abby to do something else and agreed to play dolls with her.
At dinner, Richard tells Maya how much Nikki prepared for this sleep over to Maya’s amusement. She asked about Luke and Richard told him since his was not planned at all, he is hooking up his guests with whatever Nikki had prepared (Talagang magulang ding iton si Luke ano?) Maya commented that Luke didn’t want to be left out so he also had his own party. Richard told her it is understandable because he will be all by himself around Nikki and the girls. Maya tells Richard that girls need to have time for themselves because there are things they can talk about that only girls understand. Like what??? Richard asks. Secret Maya said. Then Richard tells Maya that he thinks there is something about Nikki that she isn’t sharing with him. He is concerned because at times she seems to be in deep thought and not her bubbly old self. Maya told him not to worry. Maybe she is going through some girl issues. She is a teenager after all. Richard pulls out his cell phone and sends a message to check how Nikki is doing?
Back at the mansion, Luke and the boys take with them a plate of Nikki’s cookies. They were so noisy in the hallway enjoying them that Nikki overheard them. She opened the door and asked Luke what they are doing with her cookies. Luke in mid bite said that he thought she baked them for him since he did a lot of work in her room. Nikki said yes she did but not all of the cookies are for him. She takes the plate from Luke’s hand, gave him 2 pieces and closed the door ha ha (You Go Niknik. Alaskador yang brother mo)
Nikki gets her message from Richard. She tells him she’s still waiting for the girls. Then she gets the message from Megan telling her sorry for the late reply but she is a no go because she has a family affair. Nikki calls Stacey but she is sick. In other words, no one is coming. (Boooooo! Wawa naman Niknik) Back at the restaurant, Maya tells Richard they only have 30 minutes before the movie starts. Richard stalls a bit and Maya gets up and pulls him to go. (Wow I thought Maya was wearing a blouse yesterday over her jeans that is her usual get up. But she is wearing this pretty dress that fits her tiny figure. I know you have to be really skinny to wear a straight cut unwaisted dress like that for if you are big it will make you look even bigger like a boxed car. Ha ha Nag ala Pitoy Moreno lang ang peg) At the house, Nicolo, Luke and the UBB (Unidentified Boy Barkada) is standing behind the door of Nikki’s room waiting for her to step outside. When she did, Nicolo scares the lights out of Nikki. She’s “G-R-R-R”…and the boys roll over laughing and continue their teasing. They upped the teasing even more after they learned that Niknik is all alone. The girls are not there to help her fight back. She started to cry when Manang Fe arrived at the scene (Whew! Sige Manang Fe, okray those boys). She sends them away back to Luke’s room.

Here’s my comments mga kapamilya:
I agree with all of you that this episode is one of those hilarious episodes, abot tenga ang ngisi ng bibig ko. Pero, dahil almost all of you had already mentioned it on your comments, I’ll focus on the other side na medyo seryosong aspect na tinitingnan ko.
Firstly, I would like to say that this Episode today , for me, is the start of the new chapter of our Journey with Maya and SC. I could sense that the writers are focusing on their relationship and inter-actions with the children as well as the progress of the relationship, love and trust for each other. I would like to focus these two words because I’m a firm believer that you can never love a person whom you don’t trust.
I was happy to see that the writers are taking time to show us some proof that Daddy Singkit is not only opening his heart to Maya, he is also showing more reliance and trust in her. In a very simple way, the writers showed this in the scene where SC ask Maya to answer his phone. This seems to be so trivial but it says a lot about the progress of their relationship. Maybe mga kapamilya, you’ll not agree with me on this because Richard was also driving that time, but for me it means so much.
Richard is a very private person, and allowing his girlfriend to answer his phone showed that he has full trust and confidence in her. Then, there’s his acceptance of Emman into his private abode because Maya trusted Emman as friend. The other point that I would like to emphasize, it’s the scene before the end of this episode. Doon sa scene where SC told Maya “Let’s find out what’s happening with Nikki, I have the feeling that she’s not telling us about something.” I could fee that , here in this scene, Daddy Singkit is actually treating Maya as his better half where he puts his whole Trust that this person would be able to help him out with his concern about her precious young lady in Nikki. Lastly, he agreed to watch a lovey-dovey movie just to make her happy even I he really doesn’t want to.
You might say kapamilya, where I’m going with all of these? This is where I’m going: With all the trust that Daddy Singkit is placing on Maya, I believe that there is also very high expectation, and this will lead to a potential conflict. Depends on where the writers will leads us, I saw this conflict unfolding next week doon sa big revelation ni Nicki. If Nicki will have the courage to open her heart to Maya and everybody doon sa slumber party nila about her feeling for Niccolo, Nicki will be expecting that Maya won’t tell Daddy Singkit about it. It will be private and confidential amongst them people in that room. We already saw the text that Daddy Singkit sent her, for sure during their own late night monthsary celebration, SC will ask Maya, If she had find out anything about Nikki’s problem.
This will put Maya in a predicament, will she or will she not divulge any information? Any which way she goes, there will be repercussions. It will be interesting to see, how this storyline unfolds.
Lastly, I would say that I’m happy hindi sila natuloy sa movie. I was already expecting SC to fall asleep doon sa Cinema and Maya will only get hurt. The writers twist is a lot better. Can’t wait to see what Maya will wear pagbaba niya? Will she be in her pajama’s, like what we saw on the teaser? Or will she change into a party dress? Where will she end up sleeping that night? I bet it won’t be in Nikki’s bedroom, pero, I’m pretty sure that she won’t be in SC’s bedroom either. Baka sa Guest Room siya mag-stay overnight. Kita kits uli tayo nxt week. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
2. He has a supportive wife and he is a loyal husband
Philstar asked Richard how does Melody, his wife take all this and she get jealous over-aggressive female fans.
Richard said, “She’s not affected at all. She’s very supportive. In fact, she was the one who took care of everything in this presscon. Sometimes nga, when people have their picture taken with me, they ask Melody to click the camera.”
He also added that if in case that there is a love scene he doesn’t need to ask permission from her “No need. She knows it’s part of my work. Siguro siya pa ang magri-remind sa akin.”
“None. Maybe they know that I’m happily married.” Richard said when philstar asked him if there’s any indecent proposal for him.
He also added in his interview with abs-cbn that he is too old for temptation.
“I think at my age I know better. I know that you have to keep yourself away from these things and something that’s not right, you stay away from it agad.
“And my wife is always with me so that helps me also to stay grounded, good, so you know. You also have to think of your family,” he was quoted as saying by entertainment news site Push.
At his age, Yap said, going on “gimmicks” is the farthest thing from his mind.
“Hindi ko na kasi naiisip yung ganun because I am here for work. Siguro if I was younger siguro maisip ko pa ‘yun pero ngayon hindi ko na naiisip na magba-bar. Tapos na kami diyan,” he said.
2. He shows us in his teleserye “Be Careful With My Heart” that’s it’s okey to be strict and serious but you need to be reasonable.
Have a positive outlook in life and make people around you feel that you are strict but approachable. He also said this in his interview whit philstar.com ““Well, it’s a given that being in the public eye is part of being an actor, so you can’t deny the fact that when you’re outside, people will want to have a picture taken with you. It’s okay with me.”

Had a chance for a bit of chitchat with RY last night, mga random questions lang…
– On his debut album, hoping na marelease by August. 10 tracks and all covers. So far, 2 songs pa lang daw narecord nya, pero kanina may recording session ulit so baka nadagdagan na
– On Zirkoh show, he was supposed to sing only 3 songs kagabi pero ginawa na rin nyang apat na songs for the fans. Yung organizers daw ang responsible sa pag invite ng mga guests kaya he did not know sinong makakasama nya. Even Janella daw recently lang nalaman na kasali pala sya sa show last night.
– On the next Zirkoh show in August, same lang daw as last night although with different performers. Yung complete line up eh wala daw syang idea coz organizers ang bahala dun. (See posters na lang for details.)
May iba pang random questions at konting kulitan. Game naman sya. Di na kami nakapagtanong ng questions related sa BCWMH kasi inasar na nya ako na kung taga PMPC daw ba ako. LOL San daw bang dyaryo lalabas yung interview. Pag daw may nagtanong pa ulit ako na lang ang ituturo nya para sumagot.

Organized Chaos
It sure does feels like Richard is breaking all his personal rules. Between Maya, Nikki and Abby, he’s definitely out numbered. His household is becoming estrogen dominated. Not only the Lims are accepting Maya’s family, they have now also welcomed Maya’s best friend, Emman. I recall in the beginning, the house was worse than boot camp. Everything was forbidden. Noise, music, even laughter were strictly prohibited. No one was allowed to come over, except for the people Richard works with (Liza and Fred). Even the children’s friends from school were not allowed. Poor kids, not only they lost their mother, they also lost their childhood. Of course all these slowly changed when Maya came along. More so now, that Maya can somewhat influence Richard’s decision now. So don’t fret children, Maya is here!
Maya couldn’t have come to Nikki’s life on a better time. Nikki’s dealing with new emotions that she doesn’t what to make of them. She knows she likes how she feels when Nicolo is around, but she suppresses the idea of it being beyond friendship. She understands she’s still young to be entertaining that thought, and Nicolo being her big brother’s best friend sure didn’t help the situation. But Nikki feels what she feels, and you can’t really pick choose who you get drawn to. Maya’s guidance and experience will definitely come in to play in this situation, because Nikki will best relate with her. Even Richard knows, even if he tries, he’s not going to completely connect with what Nikki’s going through right now. Therefore, he sends in his best person to do the job, Maya. Now, that’s teamwork. Divide and conquer as they say. Hearing Nikki’s experience, made Maya go back to those wonderful emotions she felt when she realized Richard is the most perfect gift from above. She had to unwrap him layer by layer to see his true beauty, but it’s all worth it. Those moments that she didn’t know what to do with herself each time Richard was around and completely losing sense of everything, are still so fresh to her. To have someone influence a person this way, emotionally and physically and to lose complete control that you just find yourself in a sweet surrender are just few emotions a person should experience at least once in his/her life. Nikki is definitely in good hands because Maya hasn’t been tainted with bitterness that sometimes comes with bad experiences with love.
Richard definitely doesn’t mind bending backwards for the woman he completely adores. Trying to make popcorn, which I totally agree with him that it doesn’t take two minutes to pop (very confusing I tell you!), was just a sweet and cute gesture. There’s nothing that can melt a woman’s heart but seeing their man in the kitchen. It’s wonderful that the kids associate Maya with fun. Maya = fun! Richard has some serious competition now. From having his house being compared to a boot camp, to throwing random sleepovers and boys’ night, laughter everywhere, this house is definitely a home. The kids are having their childhood back. Each corner of the house has something going on. People laughing, talking, teasing, even screaming, such a total fun. Definitely, an organized chaos.
They are fighting kung sino ang mas fun, boys or gilrs. Asar talo sina Nikki and Emman. Sabi ni Emman hindi daw kaya imake over ng boys ang mga sarili nila. Tawanan ang mga boys dahil ano daw gagawin ng mga girls parlor.
Shocks ang cute ni Nicolo nun magsorry kay Nikki. At si Nikki di nakapagsalita pinagsarahan lang ng door, sabi ni Emman alam na raw nila ang topic sa slumber party nila.
Mga boys nagdalawang isip kasi siguro daw mas fun ang gagawin ng mga girls. Kasi nandun si Maya at Emman and decided na makinig sa usapan outside Nikki’s room eh nasa likod pala si Manang Fe kaya balik sila sa pagkakabit ng tent.
Di raw matitinag si Sabel , walang makakadistract… eh na tulala na naman sa pizza delivery man.
Hindi marunong magluto ng popcorn si SC… tinatawanan ni Abby.
Kinokorner si Nikki kung crush nya si Niccolo.

The Slumber Party Continues
With the arrival of Ehman at the mansion, Nikki’s slumber party is on its way. At the kitchen, Ehman greets everyone…Doris, Sabel, Manang Fe and of course Abby who welcomes her Kuya Ehman complete with a hand gesture wave. (Malantik din pala ang mga kamay ni Abby.) Ehman said he felt like he had a grand entrance much like a “little big star.” Nikki asked Doris and Sabel if the sandwiches they are preparing are for the party? They said yes. However, Nikki felt in the mood for Pizza so she asked if Manang Fe could order some. “More food, more fun.” She said. Manang Fe obliged and mentioned that they need some for Luke and Nicolo anyway. Nikki tones down her excitement on the mention of Nicolo’s name but she quickly picked herself up so they won’t notice a thing. Meanwhile, Ehman keeps looking around when Joma enters the room. He gets excited and whispers to Nikki that he thinks he is in love at the first sight of Joma. They quickly leave the room headed upstairs. Joma asked if he is Ehman? Manang Fe said yes. He asked them why he scurried so fast? Doris and Sabel turned around, told him he is gwapo and pinched him in the face.
Team Niknik vs Team Luke
At the bottom of the stairs, the boys meet Nikki and Ehman. Luke acknowledged Ehman and introduced him to Nicolo and Louie. Luke told Nikki that she found someone to bother. Nikki responds back to Luke telling him that she has other friends kaya duh! Ehman agreed. He told Luke that she didn’t have to twist his arms. He willingly came. Luke said that’s great so lets combine your slumber party to our boy’s night then. They were actually going to ask Nikki to join them anyway. They were going camping outside. With arms folded and head moving side to side, “Too many mosquitos!” she said. “Don’t you worry. We’re setting up camp at the veranda.” Nicolo said (Hoy Nicolo for your information malamok din sa veranda). “This way, we will be close to the food in the kitchen.” Nicolo adds. “No thanks” Nikki replied. “Fine…it is better cuz then we don’t have to do girlie stuff.” Louie said complete with shoulder shake. (Aba aba numero unong alaskador pala itong si Louie…If he doesn’t stop he will get batok from me) “Excuse me? Girlie stuff?” Nikki asked Louie. “Yes” he replies “I thought I was going to have to do pillow fight with you…so cheesy!” Louie taunts Nikki. Ehman rescues Nikki and said, “at least it isn’t corny. How about you? What are yall going to do? Do Playstation?” Ehman rolls his eyes. “We can do other things too besides Playstation. We can play board games, cards and play basketball.” Luke said as the three boy’s high five each other. “Excuse me…we can do all of those things too…except for that sweaty yucckky basketball thing…ewwww.” Nikki talks back. The three boys tease Nikki and Ehman back telling them they have nothing. Ehman, once more to the rescue tells the boys…”We have nothing? Well…can “make over” each other?” The boys die of laughing and they asked. ”What is this? A beauty parlor?” Nikki shoots back…”Just admit it, we are more fun than you.” Luke’s camp fights back “No…we are” “No, we are more fun” Nikki says back. So the two camps argue back and forth who’s more fun (I can truly relate to this asaran conversation because my two boys 8 and 7 are the same way…he did it. No I didn’t. Yes you did, No I didn’t cuz you did it….ugh!)

BAYANIHAN
The concept of teamwork comes to mind as the most suitable thread in today’s installment. Every single person in the Lim household willingly pitches in to ensure Nikki’s Slumber Party, Luke’s Sleepover and Sir Chief’s Surprise Monthsary celebration is successful. All, in the kapit bisig tradition, happily contributes to make sure that these events, which are happening simultaneously, go off as smoothly as they can.
Emman takes control of Nikki’s Slumber Party by showing up with a suitcase full of tricks. He is ready to watch a movie, play board games, shuffle cards, spin the bottle for ”truth or dare” or lead the “girl talk” to the wee hours of the morning. However, a quick assessment of Nikki’s predicament allows him to quickly reset his plans so that he can play the role of a sympathetic psychologist to Nikki. With Maya’s silent but strong support, Emman helps Nikki sort out her feelings for Niccolo and effectively reassures her that he can be trusted with her innermost thoughts and feelings. The tandem between the two best friends, Emman and Maya, provide Nikki the emergency steam valve that she has been desperately in need of. The pressure that she has been experiencing lately has been causing her numerous sleepless nights. For a type A personality, who tends to have everything in order, being out of control is totally exasperating. However, this slumber party has served as an opportunity for Nikki to confess her feelings of anxiety over her long-held secret and confusing emotions over Niccolo, whom she concurrently finds both irritating and adorable. She has finally found someone she can safely confide in. What a relief!
Luke, on the other hand, realizes that his hosting skills need some help. He quickly learns that it takes much more than food and basketball to keep himself and his friends entertained. Thankfully, Joma steps in to provide some ghost stories to get them momentarily engaged. With Manang Fe, Doris and Sabel managing their gustatorial needs, the boys are essentially taken care of. That’s cool!
Meanwhile, Sir Chief shows a rare glimpse into his romantic side as he displays his wickedly creative mind. With Abby excitedly lending her assistance, Sir Chief prepares a surprise romantic monthsary celebration to share with Maya. Proudly, he strives to personally prepare their midnight snack with no help from anyone. He even burns several packages of popcorn as he experiments with the right cooking time using the microwave oven. Patiently, he waits for her to be available, even if it happens to be way after midnight. He meekly bides his time. How sweet!
Today’s episode is filled with many examples on how one can help to relieve stressful situations. With everybody’s commitment to teamwork and cooperation, solutions to their current challenges are easily found. And the once-heavy clouds of dismay and disappointment effortlessly make way for the spirit of joy and celebration. Can’t wait to see what it is that Sir Chief has in that small box. I bet it is the key to his heart! Ha ha ha ha ha.

Popcorn and bubbly is such a rush! Only lately have I tried that but it’s actually very good, just be easy on both the bubbly and the butter hahaha!

The girls party is more fun than the boys. Eman figured out that the perfect topic for the night is about crush. He knew that Nikki feels something special about Nicolo. This is the moment of truth and Nikki cannot deny about her being awkward when Nicolo is around. Maya is very supportive of her and we just don’t know how Sir Chief will react if he finds out about it.
And the most exciting part is Sir Chief’s preparation for the monthsary. Abby is making fun of him not knowing how to cook popcorn. The writers made us think again of what is inside the small box. My guess is “ a promise ring” as Sir Chief’s pledge to a serious commitment. Whatever it is, sigurado super kikiligin tayong lahat. This show is always full of surprises.
Boys: Yun….huh!
Nikki: Excuse me we can do all of that din except that nakakapawis na basketball ewww!

A NIGHT OUT, A SLUMBER PARTY and A CELEBRATION
The Lim Mansion had really gone a long way…. From that boring and deafening silence enveloping the mansion from eons ago, now it’s full of life, sound, laughter and even screams… a once rigid and stiff family filled with grief and loss finally came out of the shell of their past and started living, breathing, smiling, laughing, communicating and loving one another openly, creating a very harmonious and adoringly warm atmosphere conducive for growing and nurturing.
As everyone’s prepping up for the slumber party (Nikki) and a boys’ night out (Luke), a little teasing and bantering couldn’t be helped between the boys and girls camps just like any typical teenagers would do. Lucky for Nikki for she found a strong ally in Emman and of course her Ate Maya will always be there to help out whenever she needs her. And just like any married couple would do, Richard and Maya, attuned with each other, came between the two camps, appeasing both camps becoming the peace ambassadors in the house. And this lovely sight seems to be what will be expected when this two love birds will eventually be the king and queen of this household. A lovely prelude to what’s in store in the future for this family.
As the two camps go on with their separate activities, Luke, Niccolo and Louie were setting up their tents at the veranda where they chose to settle for a night of board games, chit chat and goofing around. But as it turned out they were getting bored and couldn’t help thinking of the girls’ activity to be more exciting and fun with their Ate Maya around. Everybody knew how lively it would be with her never ending stories and jokes to share for its always fun being around their Ate Maya. Luke suggested to Niccolo that he should have invited her to their camp out when he went to Nikki’s room of which Niccolo said, he had been unwelcomed with door slammed at him and not a single chance of inviting Ate Maya. But, as Doris served the drinks, Joma came to the rescue and ended up with a scary story-telling that paved the way to the boys’ practical joke on Doris when they noticed her being so scared to death while listening to Joma’s story.
On the other hand, the girls’ party started in the kitchen as Emman greeted the houseketeers, Doris, Sabel, Manang Fe and Abby while waiting and anticipating with excitement a sighting of Joma. And when he finally did, he froze and couldn’t contain himself and whispered to Nikki of him feeling love struck with Joma. And then they proceeded to Nikki’s room for their girls’ slumber party with his trance-like actions. As Maya joined Nikki and Emman, Nikki shared the encounter at the kitchen how Emman reacted when he came face to face with Joma and this would pave the way of Nikki’s slow opening up of what would be the topic of the slumber party alongside Niccolo’s appearance at her door. Emman and Maya’s tandem in convincing Nikki to open up and share whatever was bothering her was one so coordinated and calculated wherein Emman took the lead aggressor role while Maya took on the subtle route of spectator and counselor. Finally, upon continued prodding from Emman, as Maya looked on, Nikki started opening up, revealing what she had been keeping to herself all this time. Ah the joys of teenage life… Nikki will be finding out from her two fairy godmothers the joys and excitement of teenage crush, growing up and of course they will sprinkle the accompanying reminders and breaks as this stage is one roller coaster ride for teens like her.
And yes, having a crush can be one heck of a roller coaster ride, sometimes enjoyable, the world turning rosy and sunny but other times can be scary and gloomy. For a crush is when a teen starts experiencing strong feelings of liking and affection for a specific person of the opposite sex. He could be a student from school, a friend, brother or sister’s friend or even a complete stranger like a celebrity, an actor, a singer. Teens find these feelings of crush new, unfamiliar, weird, and confusing at times but nonetheless interesting and exciting; it can be heart-warming and gut-wrenching at the same time. In Nikki’s case, her object of her crush is Niccolo, her Kuya Luke’s best friend. And as Emman pointed out, the signs were all there for Nikki – always thinking about her crush; becoming shy and speechless whenever she comes across Niccolo; feeling sad, dismal and disappointed when he didn’t notice her; but when he did, she would blush incessantly, be speechless yet giddy with excitement. But this is but expected as this is only part of a teen’s development.
SC: What are you guys arguing about?
Nikki: Dad o they making asar kasi.
Luke: Ha! Asar ka agad? Kahit kailan ka talaga oo, Dad nagsasabi lang mas fun ang gagawin namin
kesa sa kanila.
Emman: Don’t worry Nikki we will prove to them that were away to fun compare to them.
Maya: Naku! ano ba kayo ok lang yan puede naman maging parehong fun di ba? Halika na, halika na.
SC: Right! Guys gawin nyo na sa labas yan.
Louie: Sigurado pag na bored sila magmamakaawa silang pumunta sa atin.
Boys: Hahaha!
As a child, kids developed the most important attachment with their parents but as they go into the adolescence period, they then start seeking for independence, initiating, forming their own identities and becoming socially connected with people other than family. So as Nikki came to her own realization, she is very fortunate to have Emman and her Ate Maya guiding her, giving her advices on how she will succeed this right to passage of one of the exciting stage of her teenage life. After all, this tandem had gone thru that same path before so Nikki is in good hands and she will learn a lot from both Ate Maya and Emman.
And as the night progressed, loud screams were heard in both camps and just like any heads of the family, both Richard and Maya wanted to know what’s going on – Richard asking Doris to check the girls while Maya requested Sabel to go check on the boys. And the two (DorBel) finding out the actions of the lovebirds couldn’t contain their happiness and excitement of what it would be like if the two would end up as the Mr. and Mrs. of the household.
With the two camps having a blast on their separate activities, Abby was left undecided where she would hang out, and Richard just saved her by inviting her to go with him as he’s planning something special for Maya. Looks like, the Mahal na Hari is preparing something special for his Mahal na Princesa after all, a home movie date to culminate their monthsary celebration. Abby, as excited as her Dad, conspired with the Mahal na Hari and helped in preparing the special surprise for her Ate Maya. And when all was set, and the rest were resting, Richard requested Maya’s presence at the garden of what would be yet another unforgettable romantic date for the two of them. And with anticipation, Richard handed a tiny box to Maya as a gift for their monthsary with Maya filled with uneasiness and wonder as to what could be inside that tiny box of a present. Richard had come a long way too… From the champorado package, to the book strap, a bouquet of flowers to the necklace and black bag, his love for Maya had grown so deep that he would resort to nothing but the best for his beloved Maya and even taking all the effort to prepare his little surprise on his own with a little help from his Little Princess.
But while this tiny box may bring us viewers to a maddening and frenzied anticipation, we could only let our vivid imagination run wild but let us never forget that Richard is an old-school type of guy, conservative, respectful and very considerate of the feelings of everyone around him specially his loved ones, the kids and Maya. And finally, that while he may be thinking and preparing for the long term, he will definitely prepare everyone, Maya included for that eventuality. And that will include him preparing both families, Maya’s family in San Nicolas, his own parents and finally the kids for he will definitely include them in the preparation for that much awaited proposal as he learned the hard way how the kids got affected when they weren’t part of the courtship. After all, Maya will not be taking in Richard alone but the kids as well. But then again, let’s all wait and see… Let the anticipation begin…

finally,… Ehman is such a character so happy and discerning and go go go girl. Nikki had no way of dodging the bullet when Ehman started, it was what she was really craving for, someone to share what she was feeling and unburden herself from all the pent-up feelings / emotions. Nikki has been used to keeping things to herself because for years she had no one to turn to – it is only now that she is experiencing having someone to open up with but still the habit of suppressing her feelings is so ingrained that it is finally taking its toll on her. Maya feels that Nikki is troubled hence the agreement to have Ehman come over for the slumber party but her mode of getting information is more subtle and she allows Ehman to take the lead. Maya is true to her inner sense of fairness hence her way of getting information from Nikki was through Ehman’s prodding. Then she gives her words of wisdom to emphasize that it is but natural to have a crush on someone but follows it up with a reminder that it should be up to a crush only since Nikki is only 13. Here Maya is in her nurturing mode, encouraging too because she wants Nikki to learn to trust her, that she is there if Nikki needs someone to talk girl stuff with.
Well the boys had to admit that they were bored. Points to Nikki because she was right, they were enjoying the sharing / chikahan.
The best part is still hanging……oh my G! what’s in the box Sir Chief??????????
The Lim household is becoming one big happy family, with Manang Fe being forceful without saying a word; Doris and Sabel each able to make their presence felt with seamless ease with due respect for Mr. Lim and the children, Joma being his usual on the sideline but also a go to guy.
Abby is still the Princess. And a very smart and intelligent one. She feels for everyone. Her goal is to call her Ate Maya “Mom” or “Mama”. She will always be by her Daddy’s side waiting patiently until this becomes reality. Little Maya nga kasi.

Sunday Morning
It was a good thing that Richard and Maya had to go back home. Popcorn, sparkling red wine, and who can forget the diamond stud earrings, with a perfect gentleman, this makes it such a perfect date. It sure beats being in a theater with strangers. Definitely a blessing in disguise. Richard got what he initially wanted which is just to spend an intimate and quality time with his woman. At last, Maya closed her eyes and allowed herself to get lost in the moment and most importantly, she kissed him back. Even though, that wasn’t the couple’s first kiss, something happens that is beyond explanation, Richard and Maya always make it look it’s their first. These two make falling in love look ten times sweeter, ten times better, and most importantly less scarier. Falling in love is one of the most powerful emotions and it’s scary sometimes, but when they’re together, seems like nothing can go wrong. I know there’s no such thing as perfect relationship or a perfect couple, it takes a lifetime commitment to perfect a relationship and these two make it look so effortless. Regardless, of how strong and independent a person is, at some point, you need to shed your armor and allow yourself to be vulnerable. With all the battles these two had fought and won, at last, at the end of the day, they have each other’s shoulders to lay their heads on to allow themselves to breathe. They have redefined the meaning of a soulmate. A soulmate is not someone who is flawless, rather it’s the person that opens your eyes to the things that scare you, and will hold your hand in facing all your fears and yet still feel safe. It’s someone who can tell you when you’re wrong and not afraid to correct you and someone who can reach deep inside you to touch your soul.
The house is loud, unorganized and Richard didn’t even get enough sleep. Typically, these kinds of things would make Richard flip his lid. But then he looked around and saw smiles gleaming on everyone’s faces, especially on Maya’s. All of sudden being disgruntled is his thing of the past. Often times, people compare struggles to rain. But rain also symbolizes a new beginning. Rain, is the water that washes away impurities to have a clean start. Feel the rain in your skin, Lims! Don’t be afraid of the rain, but instead dance in them. Let your feet soak in puddles and just be carefree. These are just one of the simple pleasures Maya is teaching this family. While watching this family play in the rain, just like Richard, I couldn’t help but smile, but of course I had tears while smiling. This family had been through a lot, emotionally. Richard’s lonely corner of the house is now being replaced with happy memories. Instead of being in deep thought, or look of sadness, for the first time in a long time, Richard is smiling while watching his family at their happiest. At that moment he saw how his family would look like with Maya in it. It’s Sunday, a day for family, a day to be at peace. Just like that Maroon 5 song, as Richard looks in to Maya’s eyes, she’s definitely his Sunday morning.

The Lim mansion is one huge home if one compares it to the homes of those in the slum areas or the modest low housing communities, the apartment complexes or the condominiums in the city. It is situated in a gated community, with hired security to ensure highest level of safety among its residents. And then in it of course, the family – Richard, Luke, Nikki and Abby and the household staff – Manang Fe, Doris, Sabel and Joma and a memory of a devastating loss freezing them all… to coldness of hearts, to long silences, to talking but not really communicating, to lonesome togetherness and merely co-existing just because.
As fate would have it, Maya came with her bubbly personality equipped with all her unwavering optimism as her ultimate secret ammunition, wrapped in an overflowing of love for life, family and living… touched each and everyone in the household and changed everything, slowly… gradually – forever changing the course of their lives. For that change had been engrained and embedded to the very core of each of the members of the Lim household, not at once, but one after the other… one quickly (Abby), others gradually (Luke, Richard) and ever so slowly (Nikki). For Richard may have all the luxuries in the world that money could buy – clothes, the healthiest food to eat, a mansion for shelter, expensive cars to transport from place to place, the best education…ensuring he gives all the best stuff anyone could possibly dream from a comfortable home. For a home is that compilation of memories of special occasions, Abby’s many firsts – playing at the park, that first taste of play school, her birthday celebration, the sound of her sweet voice, laughter and giggles, the return of her childhood; Abby’s and Luke’s graduations; Nikki’s first prom; Luke’s first love and breakup; Abby’s first day at the big school; Luke’s going to college; or Richard’s launching of the new hangar in Clark. Or that special surprise for the one truly loved (Maya), painstakingly preparing for his (Richard’s) biggest surprise with a simple fixing of popcorn, of wine and a romantic movie for that perfect movie date with that perfect gift to express his heartfelt gratitude for that second chance at love and life she unexpectedly bestowed on him by simply coming into his life. Ultimately, home is really where the heart is – etched with love… enveloped in the warmth of that sweet embrace… sealed with the sweetest tender kiss and a night of blissful togetherness witnessed by the stars in the sky. Richard is finally home… for his heart resides lovingly in Maya.
In addition, home is made up of times spent together, of good times experienced and yes, even the difficult times that had been shared and cried upon. Nikki couldn’t believe that she, one who has an impeccable taste, has a crush on Mallows? Maya asked her why not? She tells Maya that Mallows is so jologs and no finesse. He isn’t her ideal guy Nikki says. Ehman says he understands how she feels. If one can teach their heart who to like, why not? But love comes in mysterious ways. Nikki thinks, if that is the case then she is doomed. Then she asked Maya and Ehman to please not tell anyone about her crush. This is a top roomie secret Ehman said. Nikki begs Maya to please don’t tell her Dad because it is embarrassing. Maya swore Nikki. Like Ehman, Maya said, this is a top roomie secret and she promises not to tell. In order to assure Nikki, Ehman said they have to pinky swear that who ever tells will turn into an ugly frog. With that, the three made a pinky promise not to tell their top roomie secret.
Downstairs, Richard was finishing up his surprise for Maya as Abby looks on. Richard looks proud of himself. Nikki tells Ehman and Maya about AiraTse going to the school to confront her. Ehman thinks there is an underlying reason why she did that. He thinks that Aira is definitely threatened by Nikki. “What do you mean by that?” asked Nikki. Ehman explained to Nikki that Aira Tse thinks that Mallows likes her back. Nikki doesn’t think so. Maya said that it isn’t impossible for the person you like to like you back. She miles and remembers her own experience. Maya remembered when Richard told her he’s fallen for her. She wanted to know just when did he think that happened? Maya remembers Richard telling her it was the time they lit up the lantern. (One of my most favorite parts at the beginning of their love story is this lantern lighting and how much Maya has made Abby and the family happy that night.) With all these thoughts going to Maya’s mind, Ehman noticed and whispered to Nikki that Maya is having a moment. Maya heard him and she said she just remembered something. Then Ehman and Nikki together (like a chorus) said “it’s SC”….The three laughed. So Ehman continues to ask Nikki what was she going to do if Mallows has a crush on her too? Nikki said nothing. She promised her Dad that she is not going to have a boyfriend until she is in College. Besides, Nikki continues, she does not like the fact that she likes Mallows. She can’t stop thinking about him, she cannot sleep and she doesn’t like this irritating jealousy thing. (Spoken like a true teenager ha ha) Maya laughs and tells Nikki she is the only person in the world she knows who doesn’t like the feeling of having a crush. Doesn’t she know that crush is a normal feeling because she is now becoming a young lady? Nikki admitted that it is not all that bad because sometimes it feels nice too. Nikki nodded. “Just enjoy that experience, that feeling because you can’t control it. You need to always be aware of your limitations because you are still young.” (Yes Counselor Maya ha ha) Nikki tells Maya and Ehman she is so happy they are there with her. anyone who is not affected in a positive way by today’s episode of bcwmh should be considered not normal,
not human. from start to finish, the episode is replete with positivity.there were a number of unexpected surprises. i’d bet my bottom dollar that every single viewer was sitting upright,
on full alert and glued on the monitor with breath abated, when maya finally opened the mystery box. the ooohs and
aaahs, had they been recorded, methinks would equal those when neil armstrong first landed on the moon. everyone’s
in awe when the screen showed the diamond stud earrings. another pleasant surprise was the most tender kiss (the song
that reverberated on my head…”warm, my lips against your lips and warm my fingertips by giving me your hand…warm
to have you close to me and hold me tenderly, i never felt so warm…”). that both of them, SC and maya, falling asleep
together where maya’s head resting on SC’s bosom is blissfully delightful to watch. finally, the rain scene. that was
poignant watching SC’s sweet surrender to the children’s plea to experience playing in the rain in response to maya’s
suggestion. the first part of the song let’s stay together, is the one i heard playing (“i, i’m so in love with you, whatever
you want to do is all right with me…”).finally, the teaser. the whole song of let’s stay together took over my consciousness…”we oughta stay together,
loving you forever, whether good or bad, happy or sad…i’m so in love with you”.

Emphasizing that each person’s ideas are valid and everyone should have the chance to share happy news as well as what’s bothering them. Relationships are somewhat like a garden. Without proper care and attention the weeds take over. Find activities each person enjoys and participate enthusiastically. Today’s episode, the boys and girls had their own separate slumber party, but no one felt left out and they each had their own fill of fun and laughter. Playing in the rain together seemed to be the ultimate activity to end the slumber party and to start the day. SC confirmed that they have not been this happy in a long time. Today he got a glimpse of his future family, which brought him immense joy and in return brought all of us joy too!!!
Every day family members contribute in ways that are worthy of appreciation. It is important to be aware of their efforts and express your gratitude with meaningful words and gesture. It is also important to appreciate others not only for what they do, but also for who they are. Putting family first means that everyone takes time to consider how their decisions will affect the other members of the family. They are concerned about one another’s welfare and happiness, and seek to structure their lifestyle in ways that promote unity and harmony. Even though Luke and Nicolo won’t let up on making asar to Nikki, it was nice to see that they were still all laughing and having fun and we all know that Luke loves his sister inspite of their constant bickering.

SC and Maya, have lead by example by being strong and clear about their expectations with the kids. They show them the value of freedom to make choices and to think for themselves. Children learn primarily by watching positive role models and the Lim children have two great role models. They nurture the children’s positive features. The first step to guiding your children to become resilient is to foster positive values. The most important values are love, wisdom, self discipline, inner peace and happiness.

Sir Chief and Maya’s first monthsary celebration is very romantic. They are so perfect for each other. I watched this episode many times and the kilig is over to the max. The writers and directors deserved more than 5 stars for this episode. We did not expect the kissing scene and that will be shown early early this week. That was a good surprise for us. You guys never fail to amaze us with your creativity. You always bring us so much more than we like to see in every episode.
Kay Abby girl, you are so sweet, adorable, and very smart kid. Eman, you are so funny and very talented. Nikki, your stars are shining and you are so good na in acting.

I do agree with you that a few of us did take the option of taking stock of what has transpired in the past so that we can truly appreciate and be grateful for the celebration at hand.I will be missing the camaraderie that we, MINKs, have found through this site. I wouldn’t know what to do with myself when this show will go off the air as the cast prepares for their movie and before the creative team comes up with the sequel to this drama. I just hope that we won’t lose contact of one another during the down time. RAIN
When I was growing up, one of the rhyming lines that I learned which pertains to rain, goes like this:
Ulan init, piesta sa langit, Ulan landong piesta sa silong.
Translated to English it goes:
Rain when it’s sunny means there’s a celebration up above. Rain when it’s overcast means there’s a celebration down below.
In the Philippines, rain essentially signals the end of summer. It happily quenches the thirst of the parched dry land resulting from the summer’s heat. To the farmers, rain primarily signals the start of the planting season. It is basically time for everyone to get busy to furrow the fields and get it ready for sowing. In Hawaii, where the sun almost always shines all year long, it is widely considered auspicious when rain pours down on a life changing event. It is especially welcome at wedding celebrations because it supposedly signals good fortune for the couple and favorably ensures the blessing of children in the marriage.
While rain fundamentally brings life back to the once dry agricultural fields, in people, rain generally brings cleansing and inevitably ushers in new life. According to old tradition, rain primarily cleanses the soul and it enables the afflicted to start anew, feel re-energized and encouraged to be reborn.
Summer has had its reign of a very dry spell in the Lim household. Its season lasted for five long years. However, that season is about to come to an end. Maya’s arrival in the Lims’ lives signifies the end of the long, hot dry spell that they have experienced, thus far. Maya, virtually, brings refreshment not only to Richard’s soul but also to the children’s and the entire household’s. Maya’s gift of nourishment is generously poured into their parched lives. And their reaction is quite favorable. They all can’t seem to get enough of her. Starved for love and affection, they welcome her vivacity, optimism and joy of life. Their response to her is surprisingly total and complete. They willingly cast out their old dysfunctional behavior, voluntarily surrender to her new and fun ideas and gladly embrace the positive changes that she is introducing. Essentially, she is helping to usher the rebirth of a better version of them.
Before Maya, the Lims are lifeless. They merely exist but they barely live. Interactions between them are limited to the scheduled mealtimes. Conversations seem forced. Silence is customary. Music is not allowed. It is as if their house is a mausoleum for the undead. However, after Maya’s sunny entrance through its doors, the sadness that permeated its walls essentially dissipated into the dark recesses of the surrounding landscape. It is not immediate but the change is necessary and gradual. The cold silence that initially greeted her when she first arrived in its hallowed halls has now become a distant memory. Today, the Lim house is filled with laughter, its inhabitants filled with contagious energy and joie de vivre. Its master is virtually reborn from his self-imposed grief to a cheerful and loving man, now simply a shadow and, almost unrecognizable from his old cranky self. He is the result of the total character makeover that Maya unintentionally started when she walked into his life. His alteration is definitely welcome. His transformation is totally complete. Everyone, including him, is ecstatic with the revision.
Recognizing that Maya has effectively and single handedly made all of these beautiful and much needed changes in their lives, Richard is left with the only choice he has to consider. Actually, it is not even a consideration. He has long acknowledged to himself that he must do all he can to secure that the author to his new lease on life, can only be properly appreciated, if he pledge genuine love and devotion to her for the rest of his life. He knows that to do so essentially show his vulnerability. However, he has made up his mind. Thus, with carefully chosen words, he tenderly tells her what he has always known in his heart and has wanted to say with his mouth. “I want to share my life with you.”
Rain, rain don’t go away. At the Lims you have to stay. SC’s children want to play. Maya, Maya say you’ll stay. Don’t go far or fly away. Sir Chief says, “please marry me.”

That was a breath taking episode! The monthsary date in the garden probably drew out all possible happy emotions in me. It was just, oh so sweet, so tender, so pure. Today’s episodeis just so…. hay naku, I’m speechless!!! can’t get over it… the 2nd gap keeps on replaying on my mind… the hug, the kiss, holding hands, leaning to each other, sleeping together… those scenes came out so natural, no awkwardness, no inhibitions, just two people in love.
Parang ramdam ni SC yong crush ni Nikki kay Nicolo…pinipilit si Mayang magsabi.
And my goodness, the teaser…. the car conversation! so love it!!! Maya living in the Lim mansion permanently is bound to happen very, very soon.
The kiss was so nice, a pleasant surprise for all of us. The rain scene was joyous, it shows how Maya has touched this family so much, it is now a happy home. Then the teaser, is this the precursor to what seems to be inevitable, ang kasal? But wait! Meet the parents first, now, this is going to be interesting.

I love the way this show is written and I dread the day that it will end. We can see how the relationship of Ser Chief and Maya has grown from boss-subordinate to friendship to lovers. And looks like Nikki and Niccolo are going in the same direction as well. Pati yung transition ni Nikki hindi biglaan. What she is now as a person is a far cry from the way she was in the beginning. She is more mature, treats the household staff like equal and knows how to handle her emotions.
Unlike Ina Kapatid Anak (the only other show that I watched), yung transition ng character ni Margaux hindi realistic. Dito sa BCWMH, magaling ang transition ng mga characters. If you guys noticed, Maya doesn’t talk like a kindergartener anymore. She’s more sophisticated now.
Maya: Ano?
SC: Yung anong pinag-uusapan nyo.
Maya: Wala yun girl talk.
SC: Hay… I refuse to take that argument palagi na lang ginagamit ni Nikki sa akin yan.
Maya: Hmm hindi ko kasi puedeng sabihin sa’yo dahil nagpromise ako kay Nikki.
SC: But I’m your boyfriend and her father…
Maya: Kaya nga hindi ka girl.
SC: Haa! Maya.
True love, what else can we say….SC learned fast and he made up for the weeksary. The enjoyment when he was preparing with Abby is so endearing that even Manang Fe just left him because he was having fun doing it, a complete reversal from his usual short fuse before. Maya on the other hand is enjoying the sister bonding, young enough to understand what is happening with Nikki but mature enough to know when to say something or stay quiet for a while. Emman the forever go to girl was very effective….Nikki could relate to her with her mannerism and way of thinking and talking and having that circle of trust was what Nikki really needed to unburden herself from what she was going through in her young life….having a crush on mallows.
The earrings….oh my, SC you’ve come a long way, how sweet that they are so natural with each other, the kiss, the champagne, the movie (I get the popcorn for the movie) but anyway, the togetherness was just so lovely.
The morning after Maya is just so happy everybody was there….she was just so happy, even the rain did not dampen her happy spirits and see how contagious, even the Lim children had to experience running around and enjoying the rain, SC’s facial expression was so cute he just couldn’t stop the spontaneity of the moment especially with all his children with their hands clasp as if praying he will say yes…which he did and everybody started running down, even doris and sabel….
It’s been awhile since we were this happy…..methinks Sir Chief will take another step especially when the teaser was shown, he said he can see Maya living in the house with them na….OH MY G! next episode …. a proposal?

OH MY GEEEEE! This episode is super kilig talaga! eeeeeks! i am screaming like crazy right now because of the kiss. eeeeks! The kilig scenes are just getting sweeter and sweeter every week. i loved the scenes where they were sitting on the bench so close to each other while holding hands. i don’t think they even finished watching the movie and they already fell asleep in each other’s arms. eeeeks! ano ba yan? baka mahirapan na naman akong makatulog niyan. hehehe! baka maya-maya pa ako mahihimasmasan niyan. lol!
nakakatawa si SC kasi when he whispered to Abbie about what is in the box masyadong obvious that he said they were earrings. i thought that was funny. si SC naman masyadong curious about nikki’s crush! i hope that since he has a feeling na it is nicolo that he will keep it a secret. if nikki finds out that SC knows about it, she might think that maya broke their roomie code when she didn’t. i hope that there won’t be any problems regarding that. i also hope that nikki will continue to trust maya regarding her secrets.

PRECIOUS MOMENTS
Life is made up of special moments which make it worth living. Sadly, there are so many cherished moments that we missed out with the fast pace daily living along with the many stresses that obscure our very being. And if only for that, we must try to slow down from time to time and remember how precious it is to be alive. For these precious moments are like jewels adding sparkle into our lives… they are like dew drops that should be cherished before disappearing with the morning sun… or the rainbows in the clouds giving that possibility of hope after the storm, for these are the moments that make life really worth living, for no matter how hard times get, there will always be those unexpected moments that lift us right back and spring us back stronger, better and bolder.
Today’s episode is all about Richard as he watched at life unfolding right before his very eyes. As he looked at his children laughing their hearts out, playing in the rain and having the time of their lives and watching Maya having fun with the kids, he loved what he’s seeing for the very person who brought that enormous change in his life is becoming an integral part of his kids’ lives as well. And seeing them all happy, laughing and giggling, Richard could only reflect that life really is not measured by the number of breaths taken, but by the moments that took his breath away, for he couldn’t stay away from watching everyone… he had to come back and kept on watching and looking at the blissful event happening outside, right in front of him. He couldn’t let this wonderful moment pass him by, so he had to immortalize it by capturing those precious moments of the love of his life Maya, together with the kids enjoying and having so much fun playing and dancing in the rain. Watching them , seeing the women in his life, Maya, Nikki and Abby so close together sharing laughter, giggles and having a grand time, gave him pure bliss he could only smile with so much joy radiating in his heart. He is finally realizing that the more time he’s spending with Maya, the more he’s drawn to her and now even the kids are drawn to her. She’s the magnet that pulls them all together, gravitating towards her. She is becoming more and more the center of their lives. And that feeling around her is one of pure bliss, contentment and peace with such calming effect that is something he can envision for a lifetime. For she has built this order, a very solid foundation, the calm and peace within him and his family, filled with so much love overflowing, respect, fun and a lot more.
For Richard, all he wanted is to find himself again, find that center in him that will allow him to be at peace with everything in his life – his personal life, family, career and all other aspects of his life. All he wanted is to find that inner balance, achieve that inner peace and live life to the fullest. And Maya had been his answered prayer and if only for that he’s forever grateful she came into his life… for making that life-changing difference not only to him but to the kids as well… he’s thankful for her smiles… her never ending encouraging words… her unconditional love, her warm embrace, her infectious smile, her sweet voice…all of her… And just the thought, as he said dropped her off back to the condo, he said it loudly, he’s missing her… he terribly misses her already.
Ultimately, may we never forget that life consists of small everyday occurrences or events that put deeper meaning to what happiness is really all about … playing in the rain, a beautiful sunrise, a warm embrace and the best part will be those small nameless moments one spends smiling with someone who matter the most to us. The most memorable moments in life are the ones we never took the time to plan; and these are the very moments that count the most.

Naalala ko tuloy yun early days ng be careful ang sungit pa ng Lim Family kay Maya. pinatikim niya yun tsampurado with tuyo sa mga kids at dun nagstart nagmellow si Luke sa kanya. pero ngayon ibang iba na para na talagang mga anak ni Maya ang Lim kids, kasal na lang ang kulang.

Watching BCWMH made an impact on my everyday life. It is a light-hearted drama, full of real life situations, it showcase our culture and traditions, learnings from problems the show tackles carefully not over bearing. It made me appreciate about life better. It made me realized the so called precious moments I have many of those through out my life but some did not consider it as such. Thanks to your perception and your take on the matter, it affects me profoundly. Sorry I got carried away.

Alone in the Rain
Just even before the summer started, the Lims were put under a lot of heat. Luke experienced his first heartbreak. Although, Richard and Maya became official during the summer, they had to keep the relationship on a down low. Nikki’s transition from a little girl to a young lady was in full effect. Her hormones were raging, very emotional and she was experiencing something that she could hardly explain and that there was no one she could talk to. Her outbursts often resulted to more conflicts with people around her: Nicolo, Aira and who can forget what it did to Richard and Maya. Just a thought of losing Maya nearly brought Richard to tears. They all leaned on one another. It didn’t come easy, but everyone had one ultimate goal, which is to be happy.
At first, they thought the sudden downpour of rain would ruin their Sunday breakfast plans, but of course Maya saw the bright side. The only noises now are the sounds of laughter and rain drops echoing from his home. No more deafening silence, no more calculated movements, no more tears falling from their eyes. All their lives, they were told to shelter themselves from the rain. But look up, soak it in, and laugh Lims! Dance in puddles, make your own splashes and be like children. Being soaked in the rain alone is lonely, but being soaked with people you love cultivates an amazing bond that no one can break. Open your arms, breathe and welcome this new beginning with Maya. You are not alone in the rain anymore. Aside from the family, Manang Fe, Doris, Sabel and Joma have seen how this family dealt with their pain. They too, are celebrating. What happened today was one of the amazing things Richard had experienced. He didn’t want the day to end. He can barely let Maya out of his sight. He’s worried that when he does, that emotional high will go away and never come back. He definitely doesn’t want this to be one of those things that are too good to be true or just one time deal. He can see his forever with Maya and he wants this to be permanent. He knows what to do…So go ahead Maya, sukob na. Join him under his umbrella. You are his last hope to happiness. Eventually, Richard won’t need his umbrella anymore and he will feel the rain with Maya. Hold his hand ‘til the morning comes, and until he can see that he’s alone in the rain anymore.

“Let Your Hair Down”
Since SC and Maya became officially a couple, Maya has literally been letting her hair down. I must say she looks BEAUTIFUL, especially when she dropped off the fruits to Nikki wearing a red top. Pati si Sabel, in today’s episode had her hair down (ganda nya ah)!
Since Maya is now the gf of SC and no longer an employee, she can “let her hair down”, meaning she can relax and let go of inhibitions. Which more accurately refers to relaxing social rules and letting go of inhibitions that would normally hold a person’s behavior in check. Maya is content that SC loves her, and she has nothing to worry about. He does not want to change her. He loves her for who she is…makulit, madaldal, pakialamera. As she “let her hair down” today, while she was dancing in the rain, she did not have a care in the world. She danced, she laughed to her hearts content, together with the real children and the “feeling” like children (Doris and Sabel). Relaxation, enjoyment and fun come very naturally to Maya, and with all these she will fill the Lim household.
Watching them play in the rain, made me miss the Philippines and how I also used to play in the rain with my siblings.

Maya: Okay.
SC: It’s Nicolo isn’t it?

This gift evolves to a blessed treasure, which not only changes the lives of these two. It also instinctively reaches out to influence the lives of those who surround them. Consequently, the relationship that is initially intended to only be between the two, exponentially impacts the entire household. Dramatically, the yaya and the alaga transform the lives of the entire family and impressively convert them from their myopic astigmatism to viewing the world with boundless optimism.
Manang Fe arrives in the life of Richard when he was young. She is hired as his nanny. However, their relationship has effectively matured through the years. The trust and confidence that the former nanny and the former charge share has strengthened throughout the years. The former has assumed the role of the latter’s trusted house manager. In the absence of the mistress of the house, Manang Fe has taken on the responsibility of managing the goings on in the house. Their love and respect for each other undergirds everything that they do. Theirs is a relationship that can be likened to a mother and a son. She is inevitably consulted in every major decision he makes. He respectfully yields to her counsel. From a distance, one can hardly tell the difference between the devotion and affection they have for each other from that of a biologically-initiated relationship.
Maya and Manang Fe admirably raise their charges to become healthy, responsible and well-adjusted children with the hope that they mature to become trustworthy, civic-minded citizens and positive contributors to society. Richard has proven that Manang Fe has indeed been successful in raising him. After all, he has become an outstanding CEO, who is admired by his colleagues in the industry, remarkably has turned into a doting and loving father to his children and definitely exhibits the character of a person worth emulating. Abby, on the other hand, is honestly showing signs, in her young age, that she is going to closely follow the steps of her father. She openly demonstrates her selflessness and loving personality, as Maya has fondly taught her. Undoubtedly, she is going to become a woman of substance who is going to make her own positive indelible mark in society. Under the skillful tutelage and wise guidance of these two remarkable shadow mothers, their charges unquestionably grow to become the person, whom they and their biological parents, can truly be proud of.

Ser Chief: Sige po, Manang.
CHAPTER 2. SCENE 1. (Back in the verandah, Ser Chief watches the kids enjoying the rain. Manang Fe joins him.)
Manang Fe: Ricardo, ayaw mo bang sumali sa kanila? Huwag kang mag-alala hindi kita isusumbong sa Mama mo. (Ser Chief looks at Manang Fe mulling over her suggestion)
(Camera then pans to Ser Chief down in the courtyard; everybody frolicking in the rain. Ser Chief still wearing his pajamas and bedroom slippers, shoots with his video camera and wearing a mini yellow eared-raccoon umbrella on his head).

Ser Chief: I can see that you’re enjoying. Ayokong mabasa ng ulan.
(Abby and Maya look bemused at Ser Chief, now dripping wet from the heavy raindrops pouring down from his mini head umbrella to his shoulders and start laughing.)

Warmed Stomachs
Inside the house Manang Fe is seen tasting her Aroz Caldo (That’s right Manang Fe, Keep Ricardo away from that Aroz Caldo for fear he’d burn it ha ha). Enters Luke and Nicolo soaking wet opkors and dripping. They smell the warm aroz caldo and wants to taste it right away. Manang Fe shoos them away to get dressed first because they are dripping all over her kitchen floor. The two tried to steal a spoon anyway when she swats them this time (ha ha I’m scared of you Manang Fe). Maya and Abby came in next but with just one look, Maya takes Abby away to change. The next scene is everyone at the dinner table having Manang Fe’s warm aroz caldo. The rest of the help is at the kitchen counter. They were all dried, changed and hungry. Manang Fe serves everyone their soup (I wonder if they went ahead and ate Maya and Abby’ breakfast too? I couldn’t tell). Nicolo stops everyone dead on their tracks to listen to him. He asks Manang Fe (Older than dirt as per Sis Jan so me thinks she isn’t gonna get this ha ha) if she is rain? “Why do you ask?” Manang Fe replies. Nicolo said “because you are really a good cook.” He laughs and Nikki laughs and everyone just kind of what????? (ha ha Nicolo is hecka jologs ha ha) Luke tells him he is irritatingly corny with a joke that doesn’t connect and meaningless. He argues with Luke and says “Why? Is there a rule to make jokes connect all the time?” Luke responds, “You are not making sense and you are embarrassing to my family. Abby was quiet but she gets it. She isn’t puts her hand over her mouth so she doesn’t laugh because she sees her Ate Maya try to stop herself from laughing. (Abby you are something else!) Richard keeps observing. Nikki (she is glowing…such a good actress you are missy Janella) tries to play it of. She straightens up and says it isn’t funny. Doris pipes in and plays the same kind of joke and essentially stumps Nicolo (Sorry I can’t translate that joke because I myself didn’t understand why it is funny. It must be street lingo.) They all Hi5 each other in laughter. At the table, Nikki tries not to react.
Time to Say Goodbye
Luke comes downstairs with Nicolo who is getting ready to leave. He is saying thanks and goodbye to Luke when Richard comes out of the Principal’s Office. Nicolo asks where Abby and Nikki were because he wanted to say goodbye. Richard told him not to bother. He will relay the message to the two. He said goodbye and walked out the door. Upstairs in Nikki’s room Ehman gives her a last minute advice. She needs to calm down in front of Ehman and spare her smiles. Nikki said, “Yes Ehman.” Ehman replies, “We have just spent a weekend together so we are now close friends. Just call me Emmy.” Nikki said “Ok Emmy!” (ha ha in a very Ehman kind of way) Maya advices her to think about making up with Aira Tse because “it is a heavy burden in your heart to have someone that you don’t get along with. It stresses you. And when you are stressed….” “Chakaness! (Ugliness???)” Ehman says. Nikki promised her Ate Maya. Then Nikki tells them both thank you for being there for her and the tres Marias hug. Downstairs, the Lim gang stands to say goodbye to Maya and Ehman. Richard fixes to take them home. Abby tells her Ate Maya to come back again next week so they could go and play in the rain again. Maya tells Abby that it might not rain. Then Abby replies (in true Maya fashion) “But the weather man said it is now rainy season.” Everyone laughs. “See, she is starting to argue just like you.” Richard tells Maya. Maya quickly replies, “I know what Abby, you be a good girl always so Daddy will let you play in the rain again.” Abby puts her two thumbs up and agrees. (Weeeee! Mutya needs an Oscar for best child actress…Not only is she a natural, she turns on the charm every time and you can’t help it. Your heart just melts.) Ehman says goodbye enumerating everyone and lastly he says goodbye to Kuya Joma. Joma replies “Bye” in his manly kind of voice. “Eeeeep!” Ehman reacts and quickly gets inside the car. After the three left, Luke lets out a big sigh and realized the mansion is quiet once more. Nikki said this weekend was so much fun. Abby said that she didn’t realize how much fun it is to have a big family. Manang Fe said that she hasn’t seen the mansion chaotic like that in ages and she likes it. This was music to Luke’s ear and right away he wants to have another one of the like next weekend. This made everyone excited. Sabel realized they might be ordering more Pizza (so she could have a glimpse of Mr. Pizza delivery man). Everyone’s mind was already playing the scene in their heads when Doris lets out a strong sneeze. This made everyone leave for fear they’d get the sniffles from Doris.

MAYA’S RAIN
It was rain that precipitated the seeming series of unfortunate events for Maya. For it was the heavy downpour which caused the roof of their house to leak which in turn led to Kute’s accident when she and Maya tried to fix the roof by themselves. One unfortunate circumstance led to another until these circumstances brought Maya to Richard’s house and eventually his life.
Fast forward to the present – Maya has overcome the odds and realised her dream to be an FA. And more than that, she found a new home in Richard’s heart. And how was that possible? It is because Maya met life’s trials head on and even drew strength from them, believing that with faith and perseverance, there is nothing that the human spirit cannot overcome. Symbolic of this attitude towards life, notice how Maya did not scamper nor seek cover when rain suddenly fell. Instead, she extended her arms, welcoming it with complete surrender. Rain could indeed be a harbinger of misfortune as it can bring discomfort, destruction, even grief. But rain can also be a cause for celebration – a requisite for growth and a precursor for life. Maya welcomed the rain and even danced in its glory. She embraced it for everything that it was, be it a harbinger of misfortune or a cause for celebration.
Trials and triumphs, sadness and joy, darkness and light – let us embrace them all. Take in stride if we can, overcome if we must. Just like Maya and the many occasions of rain in her life. Only then can we truly live.

The eloquence by which you described her gives her the justice that she so greatly deserves. If Dona Esmeralda fails to see Maya for who she really is, then she must be totally blind.
I believe that you have outdone yourself with this piece, girlfriend. You have masterfully crafted a literary gem in this essay. I can totally feel your emotions as I read through the lines. This one, I personally feel, goes into the annals as one of your most beautiful creation thus far! BRAVO!

REGAINING FOOTHOLD
The queen bee has arrived from her foreign state visits. A quick survey of the kingdom makes her realize that some remarkable changes have been made in her absence. Some structural modification has apparently taken place resulting in her losing her key position in the social hierarchy. Someone else seems to currently occupy the throne to Richard’s heart. This does not bode well for her if she is to maintain some semblance of control in the royal household. She immediately sets out to reestablish the status quo.
Dona Esmeralda has had to contend with sharing Richard with his nanny all these years. Suddenly, it occurs to her that she has to share him with another nanny, yet again. It seems like she has to continuously play tug of war against nannies when it comes to Richard’s attention and affection. From her point of view, Maya as Richard’s girlfriend, poses a threat to her position in her son’s heart. The fact that she used to be a nanny is laughable. It is as if fate is toying with her. Presently, it is déjà vu all over again. Hasn’t she already gone through this once before with another nanny?
There is an existing but imperceptible tug of war between the women in Richard’s life. The fundamental issue that underlies the conflict is jealousy. It is inevitable that the two find themselves in a love/hate relationship when it comes to Richard. One is the mother, who thinks she is superior, by virtue of the fact that she brought him into this world. On the other hand, the nanny, the humble subordinate who has essentially assumed all the responsibilities in raising him from the cradle to what he has now become. Richard loves them equally, however, both probably quietly entertains the thought that he loves her slightly more than the other. Because of their unquestionable love for the same child, they have promptly learned the art of compromise, sensing that to do otherwise, would eventually affect the very one that they are trying to insulate from their personal issues. Hence Dona Esmeralda and Manang Fe have come to an unwritten understanding that they have to absolutely keep Richard’s best interest at heart, no matter what. Despite the paradoxical situation in which they unwittingly find themselves in, they have slowly fostered a modicum of respect and cultivated and enjoyed some form of friendship, throughout the four decades that they have known each other.
Maya, however, is another issue. How does she play tug of war with the very one that her son apparently claims to love? Unlike Manang Fe, Maya is not an employee. She used to be but presently, she is no longer one. Hence the superiority card is not going to work on her. Doubtfully, she cannot pull off the exclusionary act on her as Richard would start questioning his mother’s motive for doing so. Noticeably, Richard seems happier now than she has ever seen him since Alex’s death. This definitely can only mean that he is totally serious about her. Dissuading him from pursuing her is indisputably an exercise in futility. That tactic is no longer applicable at this stage in their relationship. If she persists, it might just backfire and will unmistakably alienate her son from her. Nevertheless, she stubbornly makes up her mind that she will not simply acquiesce too easily. She endeavors to gain some foothold in Richard’s life. After all, no one would incontrovertibly be brave enough to break the established tradition that she has set forth, as the family matriarch, and irreverently change the accepted old Lim family dynamics. She will certainly call the shots and effectively preclude anyone from dictating to her what she should do and when to do it. Hence, she imperiously decides to exert her power over tonight’s dinner plans. To Richard’s and Maya’s disappointment, she simply cancels it. Meeting Maya will inevitably happen but, it will only happen when she is completely ready. For now, Maya will just have to patiently wait.
OA naman si Donya E kay Abby.. Sipon lang eh, kala mo seryosong sakit na… nakakatense palang makaharap si Donya E. Kaya pala sabi ni Manang Fe na di nya isusumbong si Ricardo kung sumama syang maligo sa ulan… ayaw pala talaga ni Donya E… what a waste!!! He missed the fun.
I think Nikki will realise na mali ang pagsumbong niya kay Lola niya kaya just like with Aira, she’ll try to correct this!!

Bumabagabag lang sa isipan ko… mag isa bang son si Ricky boy? May sister ba siya? Obvious wala kasi wala namang naikukwento tungkol don. Saka pag chinese di ba may 1-child policy?
Nung bata siguro si SC takot din si donya Esme na makagat sya ng lamok, kaya kahit sa beach nakapajama pa din sya at never nag short.
Nilalabas na nila ang mga rason kung bakit ganun si Ricky boy. Si Donya Esme pala ang salarin.
Kawawang Ricky boy…takot sa tubig, lamok, ipis; walang kalaro; di marunong magluto ng popcorn at di marunong magtimpla ng kape.
Kaya pala nung college sya, dun sya gumawa ng mga silly things.
Ang tanong…talaga bang magkakasakit ka kung maligo ka sa ganoong kalakas na ulan? Ang alam ko magkakasakit ka pa nga sa pa-ambon-ambon lang eh. Pero kung basang basa ka na sa ulan ewan ko lang ha, pwera lang kung nachi-chill ka na!!!

I hear you loud and clear jan, but I still have the feeling that Dona Esmeralda will be very careful if as you said she wants a foothold…..too much changes has happened and I do not think she will be playing it hard….her answer to Nikki that she couldn’t judge Maya as she does not know her and also knowing that the rest of the household likes Maya, she will be very careful indeed. I think she will just need time to have a one-on-one with Nikki to test the waters. Her putting Manang Fe in her place is already ominous yes, but she tried to hide it in a smile, and I do think D.Esmeralda knows how valuable Manang Fe is to Richard. Yes she is only the nanny, but she gave her whole life to Richard and no one can take that away at this late stage.
You present another side so beautifully. I still think she might have that in mind only for the sole reason of being the natural mother but bringing up Richard…I do think she knows Richard knows it was Manang Fe who was there for him all his life. Just praying it will pan out that she is reserving her judgment of Maya due to Nikki’s cry for help.
Uy!!! Ang cute ng subuan ng magjowa, pero bakit stretched na stretched ang arm ni Mayabels!! kakangawit kaya!!! Biglang nag-ala Abby si Ricardo??? Buti lang walang pa-airplane airplane ang pagsubo!! Hi Jan, so glad you can grace us with your presence here, taking time out from the sand, beach and the luau.
There is a saying, “A son is a son till he takes a wife, a daughter is a daughter the rest of her life”. I agree with you that Dona Esmeralda is thinking that someone else again is occupying her throne to Richard’s heart. Though Manang Fe has been, to use your term, a shadow mother to Richard, she’s not threatened by her. Maya, however, poses a different kind of threat, someone who will occupy Richard’s heart forever. Her Ricky’s wife will always have priority over her; so as a mother, she wants to know for herself who this special person is. Being a mother myself, much as I hate to admit, I would be like Dona Esmeralda, taking time to personally know my unico hijo’s future partner. But the similarities between her and me ends there.
And maybe as her last hurrah, “she imperiously decides to exert her power over tonight’s dinner plans”.

What Dona Esmeralda needs to realize is that she is not losing her son. She has the opportunity to gain a daughter when Richard will marry Maya. But it seems like Dona E likes to mark her territory and does not want her position usurped by anyone, especially to another nanny. Ha ha ha. However, the creative team is going to put things to right soon enough. As cynch has brought up in her comment, and many more have also written in some other posts on this page, Nikki will be the catalyst to Dona E’s change of heart. I am looking forward to how they will have this issue resolved. I am sure that it will be another “cry me a river” session.Cynch, thanks for posting your comment and for the shout out. Time to Make Amends
On the way to school Nikki sent a text message to Aira Tse wanting to return her hankie back. Nikki wants to know where she could drop it off? Aira said she will be going to PUS later on today to see Nicolo. Nikki asked Luke to please give the cookies and the hankie to Nicolo to give to Aira. Meanwhile at the mansion, Manang Fe doles out duties to everyone. She told Joma to take Sabel to the market and hands Sabel the market list. It is extremely long this time and Sabel started wondering why? Manag Fe told her not to ask questions just buy everything on the list. Doris asked what she is supposed to do? Manang Fe said for her to prepare the guest room, change to fresh sheets and complete cleaning. They all know it is because they are anticipating guests coming. (Wow this is a big cleaning and cooking day right after the big crazy weekend. I feel for the help.)
At Time Airways, Maya was seen checking her schedule. Edz asked Maya what’s up? Maya said Richard’s parents are coming. Edz got all excited. It marks another milestone in their relationship and she teases Maya. “It’s already meet the parents time?” She asked Maya. “You are gonna have to impress them.” Joshua said. Maya smiled. Edzaline added “She can do it.” (That’s right Edz. We all have confidence in Maya don’t we?)
Welcome Doña E and Don R
At the mansion Manang Fe is busy making sure everything is in order with the meals. Abby and Richard were in awe of all the dishes they have prepared. Richard asked Manang Fe why so much? She said, “Let it be. Your parents have surely missed the dishes we’ve prepared.” Suddenly, they hear the sound of the car beeping. Richard thought that might be them and leads Abby outside to meet them. Outside the front door were Manang Fe, Doris, Abby and Richard. He calls out to his mom as she gets out of the car. In a very Doña kind of way Richard’s Mom gets out of the car to greet them. Abby said “Lola, Lolo you didn’t tell us you are coming.” Doña E replies, “It is because we want it to be a surprise.” Richard hugs his parents. He seemed to have missed them. Doña E mentions that Richard looks thin but Don R said he looked great. Suddenly Abby sneezes a couple of times. She excuses herself but Doña E noticed that she might be getting the sniffles. She asked if she got wet in the rain? (Uh oh) Richard’s face looked worried. Abby (Bless her heart) tells her Grandmother that in fact, they played in the rain. “What?” Don R said as he looked at Richard. Doña E asked Richard if he allowed her to play in the rain? Abby answered them and said that her Dad gave them permission because Ate Maya asked him. (Oh Dear…. awkward!) The look on the face of both oldies, one could only assume they were not pleased. Manang Fe said that it happened only once and the kids had fun. Doña E said that it takes only once for the kids to get sick. Richard couldn’t say a thing. She told them she would take Abby inside the house and to please just take care of their luggage after them. (Whoooaaaa! Eeeeeexxxxxxcccccuuuuuussssseeee muah! Super Doña in a funky lime green pants and printed orange coat????)

Doris and Abby were sneezing in stereo but I wince every time Doris would sneeze in the palm of her hands tapos hawag sa doorknobs, pitcher, tray, glass, etc. We can expect her to be out for a few episodes as she is in London hanging out with MaTH.

oh oh…..the playing in the rain did not sit well with Dona Esmeralda….there seems to be some other meaning to her statement to Manang Fe… ang ina lang ang makakapagsabi kung ano ang mabuti para sa kanyang anak. Even Sir Chief felt the early vacation was purposely because of Maya. Dona Esmeralda is still on the premise that Nikki does not like Maya. She even requested that dinner be postponed for the following day. In the kitchen, Nikki overhears the exchanges about it but just lurks there….another cliff hanger episode. Writers you are so good leaving your viewers in tenterhooks, it can go either way…. so guessing game nanaman kami….. malaking tuwa kung tatama kami, nakakalungkot kung sablay…. galing nyo talaga!
Maya on the teaser seems to have accepted it on face value….tama si Maya to say wala naman magagawa…….hay naku ang tagal ng bukas….. I need to know how the wind will be blowing tomorrow…..fervently hoping Maya wins them over hands down! Sir Chief, cool ka lang, trust you love for each other to transcend the meeting with your parents. Team Sir Chief-Maya ako! The parents will just have to accept them. Positive di ba!
