Tapos na daw ang round 1 ni SC at DR. Di na daw tinapos ang dinner. Safe na din ang pag-aaral ni Sabel kasi masarap daw yun adobo. Ang bangs naman daw eh sangkaterbang split ends kaya di daw asset as per Joma to Doris.
Parehong tinanong daw ni DE at Maya ang labiduds nila pero parehong ayaw umamin. Ayaw na din daw magcelebrate ni SC ng bday. Dunno why.
Lumabas na din daw yung truth na ayaw mag-end up ni DR si SC with Maya.
Cowboy ang theme ng party??? Ni Ser Chief???

FIRST LOVE
All of us remember when we first fell in love. It most likely happened when we were in high school. It was, and still is, the strangest and most beautiful sensation that we probably will or have ever felt, thus far. It seems like the world only revolves around the object of our affection. Our days seem brighter, things around us seem more colorful and we seem to float on air all the time. Daydreaming is a favorite past time and singing along to whatever is playing on the radio is more meaningful because then we feel we’ve gained a better understanding into what the lyrics to the songs mean. Nothing could bring us down. A smile is permanently plastered on our face. And we look forward to the time when we will see that person again. We take better care in how we look so we spend a little more time in front of the mirror. We are more conscious about the pimple that inconveniently pops right in the middle of our forehead. We experiment with how to primp our hair, how to enhance our beauty with make-up and start squirting our mother’s bottle of perfume all over our body. Oh to be young and in love! Ah, long live the days of our youth!
In the world of our favorite drama series, our teenagers are experiencing their first love. Nikki is head- over-heels smitten with Nicolo. She finds most of her waking hours thinking about him then, her sleeping hours are filled with dreams about him. Presently, it seems to be an unrequited “crush” but unbeknownst to both of them, he actually also feels the same way about her. It is just that being her older brother’s best friend and the fact that she is much younger than him puts him in an awkward position. Pursuing his feelings for her will definitely compromise his relationship with Luke. So subconsciously, he tries to deaden her feelings for her by occupying his attention with other things. He distracts himself by looking at other girls. Hence, he pursues a relationship with Aira, which quickly fails because he really is not into her. Presently, he is distracted by Cheska.
Luke on the other hand is still nursing himself from his painful breakup with Joey. The summer break seems to have done him good because it allowed him the time he needed to be away from the places that reminds him of her. Family and other friends occupy his time so it inevitably decreased his alone time and kept him entertained. Now that he is in college, he realizes that there is a possibility that he may fall in love again. Granted, he acknowledges that he will never ever forget Joey, may still even love her and probably will for the rest of his life. Or at least, she will occupy a special place in his heart. But move on he must! He slowly lets his beautiful and loving memories with Joey go although a part of him still wishes to hold on to them. Presently, there is a tug of war raging between his mind and his heart. One dictates the logical step for him to take: move on! The other whispers to him saying: hang on! Consequently, when he sees Joey for the first time, since their painful breakup, he is ambivalent. He realizes that he still loves her but he won’t force himself on her. After all, she broke up with him. It is definitely time for him to move on. Hence, the song he chose for the glee club audition is replete with meaning. Through the song, Luke sadly bids his first love goodbye and wholeheartedly wishes her well. At the same time, he expresses his desire to move on. It seems he might just have found the very person who can help him do that. Ange may help him do just that!
Side Note: I think Ange is Mang Greg’s daughter who is a scholar at the school. So Maya and Sir Chief’s difference in social status, may again be echoed through this pairing between Luke, who hails from a wealthy family and Ange, who obviously is from a struggling family. Here is another romantic subplot in the making which essentially will justify the extension of this drama! Yowza!

Nicolo kadarating na nga lang nakikain agad gutom na gutom lang,pero yey friends na silang 3,,mukhang hihingi pa ng tulong si Nikki kay Inigo para sa kuya niya at kay Joey…(Nikki girl huwag muna pakialaman si kuya Luke baka magalit yan.

Hi Hot Wasabi, to tell you the truth, I was busy thinking of the dreaded fish ball consumption and the danger of contracting Hepa that Inigo’s relevation of Mang Greg’s scholar child did not sit with me. I have to go back to the episode and check which one is Ange. Interesting concept indeed.
Thank you for bringing back memories of my first, second, third and fourth loves, and the others too many to mention. Ha, ha, ha. Maybe I just loved to be in love when I was younger…unfortunately these were secret loves not lovers. Love made my world go round and round kaya I was dizzy growing up.

Maya, A Diamond in the Making
The name diamond is derived from the ancient Greek word adamas, which mean “proper”, “unalterable”, “unbreakable”, which describes Maya’s journey in life. She has been through so much to get where she is right now, but she has not allowed anything or anyone to alter who she is. Diamonds are produced through pressure, heat and time and you need the right combination of each of these working together perfectly to create a diamond. In the fullness of time, the pressure of life, difficult situations and long seasons of what appear to be nothingness, Maya is and has become a precious gem to behold.
The beauty of the diamond is magnified with each cut, giving it the ability to reflect light, producing more sparkle and eye catching brilliance. Each time that Maya goes through a trial she is continually being beautified and she sparkles each time she comes out of it. She captures the eye, touches the heart and wins the soul of her adversary, and Don R is no exception. He will see that Maya is unique and precious and will eventually realize her awesomeness in being simple and true to herself, not at all after wealth and fame.
Don R, obviously does not know his son very well, because if he did, he would know that SC doesn’t get into anything that he is not sure of. But once again, he has to prove to his own father his credibility. And to have to prove that over and over again to someone who should trust your judgement can be hurtful. Kawawa ang ating Mahal na Hari at ang Mahal na Prinsesa kasi kailangan nilang ipagtanggol and pagmamahal nila sa mga taong dapat nakakaintindi at nag mamahal sa kanila.

On the father-son issue, differences of opinion gets out of hand when delivery of concern from the father disregarded the son’s feelings. Sir Chief was right in saying it is too early to even be talking about of all things – inheritance. Not because Don R is the father he feels he can say anything he wants to. Tact and diplomacy was thrown out the window. DR was focused on protecting his grandchildrens inheritance, but forgot about his son’s feelings. Sir Chief’s reaction is really a double whammy because he could feel the hurt for Maya considering that Maya has just told him about Nanay T and Mamang accepting Richard because they saw what Maya saw and because Maya loves him.
Halatang affected much si sc na hindi boto c DR na nagkatuluyan sila ni Maya.. nagkwento pa siya kay DE sa teaser for tommorrow.. nagkwento din siya kay maya na ” pinapakialaman daw siya ulit tulad ng dati”hmm.. eto na kaya yung kwento ni doris at sabel dati kay maya na hndi approved yung parents ni sc kay alex? hay! DR **** di mo ba nakikita happing happy si SC kay maya!!!

I like how Kute wants to resolve the bullying issue. Kahit naman mapagsabihan pa ang mga kutong lupa na yun, ibubully pa rin nila si Cho. Dapat ipakita ni Cho na hindi siya kinakaya-kaya lang ng mga bulinggit na yun!

Although life becomes much easier to handle when both concerned are mature enough to understand the relationship, a father- (adult) son relationship such as DR and SC will require a little, no, a lot of effort to be carried out successfully and harmoniously. When a son grows up, the role of father and son in the relationship are switched somehow, like a role reversal, now it is the son who has to be become the nurturer of the relationship. It is a son’s or daughter’s responsibility to reciprocate the love, care and kindness his father(or parent) has bestowed upon him in his/her lifetime. for as the father grows older, or any parent for that matter, he will be more and more sensitive and vying for his son’s or daughter’s attention, always needing to validate the parent’s worth and their value in the children’s lives. More often than not, adult children in their desire to be treated as adult, and be given the freedom to do as they please and make decisions on their own, tend to set aside the opinions and words of the elder parents, making them feel useless and no longer needed. just my 2 cents… :))

In today’s episode, we got a glimpse of the two men of the house – DR and Richard. Like father, like son? Probably… not. While both men are pre-dominantly exhibiting Type A personalities – highly ambitious, driven, high achievers, impatient, controlling, extremely focused, rigidly organized and stubborn; both share the acumen for business and succeeded in the businesses they had ventured in and both have been great providers to their respective families.
However, what differentiated Richard from DR lies in the fact that he had been raised by two sets of mothers DE and Manang Fe with two contrasting background, DE from an affluent and educated background to a lower spectrum of the society in Manang Fe, giving Richard a wider bird’s eye view of the two realities in society thereby, growing up in a more balanced life and having a well-adjusted outlook at life moving smoothly into the ways of the well to do and yet humble enough to understand and mindful of the ways of the not so privileged. While he grew up to be secured in a lot of things, Manang Fe showered him with compassion, humility and respect for those disadvantaged.
But then, he led a predominantly type A personality when he lost Alex probably as barrier – to shield himself of all the pain and hurt he may have felt losing an important part of him, an important balancer in his life, which after a long time, he regained such balance when Maya come into his life and fell in love with her in the process. As she brought back that balance, Richard was able to exhibit and reclaim his true nature and was able to balance work, family and personal life. With Maya’s help he was able to regain that side of him, relaxed, calm, compassionate. loving, enjoying life and bonding with his family.
While both men love and respect one another, clearly there seemed to be a struggle between father and son, where one aimed at power even in his son’s way of managing his life; and the other determined, striving for that independence from his father wanting him to follow in the father’s path. DR, still having that strong business sense despite his age, was only looking after his son and displayed his love for his only son in the only way he knew how –guiding him in the business side of life. He may have stepped beyond, short of intrusion, but to him, giving his unsolicited advice would somehow put some sense into some domestic concerns that are very real and could very well affect his son and his family. He may have stepped beyond the boundaries, yes, but for him a very critical issue needed to be addressed no matter what, in spite of the fact that he’s fully aware of his son to be very much capable of making his own decision and running his own life. Without doubt, this intrusion didn’t sit well with Richard.
Conflict in the father and son relationship can be a major issue of unrest in any family. Thus, it is best to solve it before the situation worsens. The resolution lies in the understanding between the two because no matter how much they fight or argue, the underlining truth remains, they each seek each other’s approval, each other’s respect. It also has to do with that generation gap where a disconnect is evident so much so that both should be able to meet at a common ground and be able to discuss as equal and able men sans the labels of father or son but rather of men, equal in thinking and doing. And to further ease the tension, the women in their lives can very well aid in the meeting of both minds and hearts for a more harmonious and progressive father-son relationship based on love, respect and understanding.
Growing up with a widowed Mom, I never had the chance to witness the conflict between father and son. So, your advise that such conflicts should not be left to fester lest it will become irrevocable and irreconcilable, is very sound indeed! Thanks for this reminder. Who knows, it just might resonate in one of our viewer’s household.
On Sir Chief and Don Roberto’s differences, I believe that it is primarily and fundamentally rooted in their deeply held beliefs. It all comes down to how they answer one question: What is truly important to them! (Hence, they might not have such a huge gap to bridge, after all. They only need to be willing to move towards a compromise.)
Totally agree. Regardless of his intention to protect SC, DR’s prejudice will hurt Maya. That’s also insulting to SC. He’s a grown man and obviously is a good judge of character. He wouldn’t just get involved with some floozy and neglect his kids. Good perspective the writers are showing though. Many people, even without the right, will pass judgment in situations like this where a young woman is in a relationship with an older man.

But I am also expecting a serious conflict before mag propose si Ser Chief kay Maya… Kaya possible pa rin na sa pakikipag break ni Maya eh hindi papayag si Ser Chief and will instead propose.

I don’t think Maya should sign. I think SC should duke it out with DR to defend Maya. Kahit dad siya, it doesn’t mean that he’s perfect. SC should hold his ground to protect his love and respect for Maya. Writers should present it in a way that DR concedes and accepts he’s wrong. It’s the moral thing to do. Kung mali ka, admit that you’ve made a mistake. Doesn’t matter if you’re the patriarch of the family. I’m excited to see how this will turn out. I’m sure it will have a romantic twist.

THE TRUTH IS……concerned lang si Don R para sa mga apo niya …NOT!!! It’s all about the money. SHOW ME THE MONEY!!! Now if Maya had as much if not more money than they, then it won’t be a problem. They can split it in half as many times as they wish and they’d still end up with equal parts of the big whole. Like Don R said, “more women will come into your life” (moneyed women, that is). However he justifies himself, there is discrimination here. But who am I to say what is really in the writers’ minds?

Sometimes when focus is on money / material things, nawala or hindi binibigyan halaga ang tao. This is why Sir Chief got hurt because he got to know who Maya is and what makes her unique. Maya is not in awe of anyone, rich or poor, equally they should be treated with respect. Sir Chief had to learn the hard way that is why he ended up in San Nicolas to get Maya back. It was the biggest wake up call that confronted him and learn he did.
This is again a repeat of Sir Chief’s past. He had to defy his parents (Don Roberto) when he married Alex. Now he is again being pressured to do so again by Don Roberto’s focus on money alone forgetting that he is disregarding the feelings of his own son. Sir Chief, your getting back at your father by stating that your childrens future is already secured….fell on deaf ears. Sir Chief promised Maya he is going to work it out with his father. But on the teaser, Don Roberto lets pride get in the way of meeting his son – the offer to ride with him was snubbed …… Sir Chief you’ve come a long way…..sharing with your Mama the truth does not take away your being your own person, it is just making sure you get all the help you can get to help you cross the bridge and meet your Papa on common ground and make your Papa see that you will not be pressured into your Papa’s myopic view on what is important for you and your family.
Now I fully understand why Dona Esmeralda turned around, it was your statement…..I do not have much time with Maya, referring to your age difference. Your Mama felt that in her heart and your mother will always want what will be best for you and what will make you very happy….and that is having Maya by your side.

Totally agree. Regardless of his intention to protect SC, DR’s prejudice will hurt Maya. That’s also insulting to SC. He’s a grown man and obviously is a good judge of character. He wouldn’t just get involved with some floozy and neglect his kids. Good perspective the writers are showing though. Many people, even without the right, will pass judgment in situations like this where a young woman is in a relationship with an older man.
I like what you said about SC being a good judge of character. Despite DR’s prejudice against Alex, she turned out to be a good wife and mother. So DR please stop your meddling especially when he has already been proven wrong in the past. If I were Maya, she should sign the prenup agreement in front of the parents and after doing so, SC would duly tear it apart as a sign of his dissent on the matter. In that way, Maya would have proven her sincerity and SC would have proven his faith in Maya.

Although life becomes much easier to handle when both concerned are mature enough to understand the relationship, a father- (adult) son relationship such as DR and SC will require a little, no, a lot of effort to be carried out successfully and harmoniously. When a son grows up, the role of father and son in the relationship are switched somehow, like a role reversal, now it is the son who has to be become the nurturer of the relationship. It is a son’s or daughter’s responsibility to reciprocate the love, care and kindness his father(or parent) has bestowed upon him in his/her lifetime. for as the father grows older, or any parent for that matter, he will be more and more sensitive and vying for his son’s or daughter’s attention, always needing to validate the parent’s worth and their value in the children’s lives. More often than not, adult children in their desire to be treated as adult, and be given the freedom to do as they please and make decisions on their own, tend to set aside the opinions and words of the elder parents, making them feel useless and no longer needed. just my 2 cents… :))

Maya is so much better than that, for the way she had been treated by far had just been too much. Nikki’s “matapobre” stance while also putting down Maya as a person but given that she’s just a kid, Maya may have let it aside knowing fully well Nikki’s age and couldn’t really grasp the whole situation and may just be more of running on emotions which is why, Maya understood and patiently waited until Nikki came around and embraced her and the relationship. But with DR, his attack on her was way below the belt and the very core of her being, and no matter how positive a person like Maya may be, no one can blame her if she felt dejected, if she felt deeply hurt by such accusations when all she had ever done is love and care for this family unconditionally even forgetting herself and her own happiness in the process.
In life, whether one is rich or poor, there is one thing need not be taken away… one’s dignity along with the reputation as human being. Loving someone is not a bad thing for so long as it’s done within certain limits palatable to one’s dignity. If we allow people to take more from your life, it may probably be better to be alone with dignity than in a relationship that constantly require sacrificing one’s happiness and self-respect. For no matter how people may treat you, do not ever stoop to their level for you are much better than that, you deserve better… you can simply smile and walk away – for being strong doesn’t necessarily mean one needs to fight the battle for true strength is being mature enough to walk away from all these injustice with one’s head held high.
A healthy relationship will or should never require one to sacrifice one’s friends… one’s dreams… and most importantly one’s dignity. For knowing when to walk away, is wisdom; being able to, is courage and ultimately, walking away with grace, with head held high, is DIGNITY.

Oh oh, I think I got my wish… the table had been turned… It’s Sir Chief’s turn to prove he is worthy of Maya’s love… But I still believe, even in the most saddest of events, we tend to get the sweetest surprise… we just have to go thru it, experience it, be sad if we may for in the end, something good will almost always come out of it… for we really could never appreciate the better things and the finer things in life if we never know and never experience those heart wrenching and those unbearable moments…
So let’s embrace the sad, the bad… for in the end the good will come out, better will shine and we will mostly benefit from it all… we will be better, stronger and more appreciative of the people we love and the moments we’ve experienced.

Sir Chief and Maya’s acting is superb. I can see that Sir Chief wanted to say more about Maya to his dad but out of respect he tried to stay calm. DR is very judgemental and all he’s thinking of is wealth. If only he knew all the sacrifices that Maya did for Sir Chief and the kids especially to Abby, he’s not going to judge her true intentions of loving Sir Chief. Whatever happiness Sir Chief and the kids are enjoying now is all because of Maya. So Don Roberto, money is not everything and money cannot buy happiness so please go and leave Sir Chief and Maya alone and let them be happy. Go back to China and spend all your money there. We don’t want to see Maya crying and she doesn’t deserve to be treated that way. She’s a very hardworking and loving person. Sir Chief need someone like her to move on and enjoy life.

The act of judgement is an act of arrogance in the part of Don R. With the little knowledge that he knows of Maya, he has judged her intentions and as a result, causing more suffering to his son. He reiterated to SC, that he has nothing against Maya, but I think this is his way of lessening his guilt. If he has nothing against Maya, then why tell SC that there will be other girls for him and not to get too serious with her. That statement is contradictory, and it just shows his true color. Tama yung sabi nila na..”When you judge someone, you don’t define them, you define yourself.” Kaya Don R, ikaw pala ang nakahawa sa matapobre genes mo. Buti nalang na pinalaki ni SC and Alex si Nikki, kaya nabago din and puso nya.
Ang gusto mo pala na manugang ay yung socialite na siguradong walang hangad kundi mag paganda katulad ng sabi ni Manang Fe. Don Roberto didn’t have to dress up in coat and tie to voice his concern about wealth. (Tingin ko, amoy lupa na nga eh) but with his words… we get his point.
Dona Esmeralda didn’t have to carry a “pamaypay” and wear a lot of expensive “bling” to hate or “katakutan” siya. She reaches out to DorBel in a funny way, and turned her attitude against Maya, she embraced Maya by telling his son… “decente siyang babae”.
Richard’s eyes speaks for themselves, he may not be awarded as best actor, but surely respected and recognized as a role model.
Maya is superb! She makes us laugh, cry and worry in her most simple way.
Not to mention the Lim kids – specially Nikki. If you hated her when she couldn’t accept Maya, that means she did a great job.
I could go on and on and on.
To TFC, please do not remove/delete episodes from the beginning. I love watching them over and over again.
Last but not the least, to the Haters of this show….. I have a LIFE. Just so happened that I really love this show!

‘TaR, more often than not, our interpretation of the messages imparted is what makes situations bad if not worse. When someone share their thoughts, how we interprets the message depends purely on how we listen and how we receive such messages. Looks like because of previous spats with father and son, from the very start, Richard had been nurturing negative thoughts on his Papa that’s why, whatever his Papa would say will be received negatively especially when matters of the heart or family is discussed. Richard may had really been so hurt before in Alex’s time that hearing it again this time around brought back those painful memories and drastically closed his heart as well as his mind to whatever his Papa had to say.
And yes, when they both were saying things and not really listening, they were sending all the mixed messages and both had been hurt in the process and right away, became defensive and closed minded. For only if both opened their hear and mind will they be able to clear everything and really really talk father to son.. heart to heart.
Me thinks, Maya will go back to San Nicholas to replenish her good vibes which had been totally depleted from all these events… For when everything is crushing down on her, she almost always go back to her family for support and for the love she desperately needs…

Maya walks in the door and Ehman was there to welcome her with ice cream thinking that Maya will come home from lunch with Dona E. Maya thanks him for the sweetness but she is happy to tell him that at the beginning of the meeting, she was tensed and nervous but later, her and Dona E were laughing. Ehman was truly happy for her. Suddenly, Maya became quiet probably thinking of Richard and Don R’s disagreement. She excused herself from Ehman to get ready for work. (Ehman you surely are such a great friend!)
At the mansion, Joma, Sabel and Doris were talking about the plans for Richard’s birthday party. Joma said that Manang Fe mentioned that if Dona E and Maya get together, it will be a riot because both are crazy and fun. They were wondering where the party is going to be held? The following day, Maya returns home from her flight when Dona E buzzes her. Maya asked her how her shoulder is feeling today? Dona E was excited to tell her that her shoulder is now doing fine. Maya’s massage worked. Dona E was eager to tell Maya her idea for Richard’s birthday party. She remembers that during Ricky’s 12th birthday, the theme was cowboy costume party and Richard apparently hated it. So Dona E suggested to Maya that they repeat that theme. Maya was so surprised at how crazy fun Dona E is. She loved the idea and felt excited to plan and prepare for it. When she hangs up the phone, Ehman was just walking out of the unit and heard Maya’s high pitched voice. He asked her what was the excitement all about? Maya told him and he said that finally she found someone that is just as crazy as her. Maya said she is just happy that Richard could now smile. Ehman wondered if there was a problem. Maya said just a little disagreement with his Dad.

Yes, the writers have to give the story the right balance because in real life, we don’t always celebrate. We also have to face disappointments, hurts, heartaches, conflicts etc. Tamang tama lang ang templa nila. There can’t always be kilig, even if that is what we want. Nakakasawa naman kung ganoon palagi. At least, the drama in our story is not violent. Our characters, even the antagonists, are not really that dark. They are just human beings, perfect in their imperfections.

Maya is so happy because now Dona Esmeralda said she is okay and now they are at ease with each other. Maya’s magic hands did work wonders for Dona Esmeralda’s hurting shoulders. Now they even have the looks that can speak volumes and they have started to tune in to each other.
Just to include yesterday scene at the dining table, I do agree with Abby’s statement that an Angel passed by. And Maya said naunahan siya ni Abby. I feel there is a connection to previous episodes but I will have to think about it pa.
After the breakfast snubbing by Don R to Sir Chief, Mother-son talk reveals the true reason.
I think the Don still has shares in Lim Aviation, he can command the Company Driver / Car and get legal assistance for his venture. Being focused on protecting his grandchildren’s inheritance denying that he does not have anything against Maya. No matter how much Don R keeps on saying it, he is judging Maya and disregarding Sir Chief, his own son, of being of sound mind. It is not just pride that is in the way of father and son, it is an outright disregard of the most basic of all, respect for others. Don Roberto is a selfish man.
I was right in assessing that Sir Chief got a double whammy when Don Roberto revealed his true colors. He was not only hurting because the father disregarded not only Sir Chief’s feelings but his status, he is a 46 yr old widower who own and runs his own company. Topping it with Maya had just voiced out that she hopes that how Nanay Teresita and Mamang has accepted Richard because Maya loves him and has seen what Maya has seen in him, his own father shows him the opposite. It would seem, he was so excited that his parents are visiting but when he needed them the most, he was let down by his own father.
Devastated with what Dona Esmeralda inadvertently shared, Maya showed proper decorum and on the teaser, Maya sought the company of Abby while Sir Chief was not yet home. Poor Dona Esmeralda was so focused on being upset that Don Roberto would be thinking that way….she is clinging to Manang Fe for support while waiting for Sir Chief. Abby is the anchor that will keep Maya strong and not breakdown from the blow that she was just given.
The idea of spending Sir Chief’s birthday with an Orphanage is a brilliant idea and will be good for Sir Chief and his company. Now it is a question of whether it will even push through……
Maya is so calm and collected, but the hurt is all inside…..the teaser gave me assurance that Maya is never going to let one man take away the magic of her love for Sir Chief……with abated breath I will wait for Maya’s next move…….Abby, tune in to your Dad and be there for Ate Maya. Now I feel why the Angel passed by.

Hi, Cynch, I’m baAack. I had to rush out then I cut my errand short to rush back in. You Know, I asked that question about Don R’s involvement with Lim Aviation in one of the recent episodes. It’s strange, don’t you think, that while SC claimed to Nikki that he and Alex worked together to build what the children now enjoy, he also told Maya that Lim Aviation used to be his father’s Airplane Parts business which he converted into an MRO. So, yes, how involved is Don R and will it have a bearing on SC’s control of his Company?
On Don R, he’s an old man who just wants to prove he’s still be in control. Perhaps he feels he is entitled because he started the business his son now owns? That being said, he does contradict himself when he says “he is not judging Maya but is merely protecting his grandchildren”… from whom? And so the vicious cycle of the chicken and egg begins….
I wait with you, bated breath, crossed – fingers, legs, arms, eyes and all, for Maya’s next move. Hinga na naman ba muna sila habang tayo ay hindi na makahinga??

I too would like to see how Don Julio fits into Maya’s puzzle. Likewise, I don’t believe that the writers just coincidentally plugged his presence in in the episodes where he appears. I too hold the belief that he has a role to play in Maya’s life. Whatever that is, I will just have to patiently wait for them to reveal it in due time.

I was crying with you, Maya! Jodi, ang-galing mo talagang umarte! I really tried my best not to cry but I couldn’t hold back the tears. Tapos sa teaser, halos mangiyak-ngiyak ang itsura ni SC while he was wiping Maya’s tears. Gumagaling na talagang umarte si RY. Hay! I am going to need to drink lots of water to rehydrate. lol!
Seriously, i am kind of scared that Maya might break up with SC because of this. She really looked very hurt. Tapos ang gusto pa ni Maya is for his parents to love her the way her mom loves SC. So, I hope I am wrong. I hope that Maya will have the same thinking like SC. It doesn’t matter what his parents think of her because her feelings for him will not change, too. She should reciprocate SC’s resolve to fight for their relationship.

Papayag ba si Ser Chief na magprenup sila? Insulto naman kay Maya yon. For sure hindi papayag si SC. Naisip ko lang na baka ipilit pa ni DR. Lalong magagalit sa kanya si Ricky.
Kung si Maya naman mag-suggest, di din papayag si SC pero at least mapapatunayan ni Maya kay DR that she’s not after the money.
I do not see anything wrong with a Marriage Settlement. They can formulate their own scheme that can be favorable to both sides. Ang Pilipino kasi once they hear “prenup” they connote a sense of selfishness sa side ng nag initiate. Hindi naman.

There’s only one kind of love that can fill us up, make us whole, and give us the happiness we all want, and that is “unconditional love.” It is unconditional love that we all seek, and somehow we intuitively realize that anything than that kind of love isn’t really love at all. Unconditional love is so different from the kind of love most of us have known all our lives. It is caring about the happiness of another person without any thought for what we might get for ourselves. It is unconditional love alone that has the power to heal all wounds, and bind people together, it is impervious to approval or disapproval, but the REAL beauty of unconditional love is that it will ALWAYS eliminate anger, envy confusion and pain.
All her life, Maya has been showered by unconditional love by her family and it is no surprise that all she knows is unconditional love. At all costs, it flows out of the abundance of her heart. In every adversity, she encounters with people, she never fails to realize the potential to love unconditionally and without realizing it, she gives it the power to change the hardest of hearts. SC was not exactly an easy person to love, but with her unconditional love, she was able to penetrate even a seemingly “dead” heart. Sino naman ang lalaking hindi mag papakabaliw na mahalin ng katulad ni Maya. I would say that, he would be the luckiest man in the world!!! Don R…your money could never pay the kind of love that Maya has for your son. And sadly to say that, that kind of love should have originated from you, because it is through our parents that we should first learn and experience what unconditional love is.

Whatever it takes, or how my heart breaks, I will be right here waiting for you.” The unconditional love of Maya is not afraid to wait, or afraid to get hurt. As Mother Teresa said, “Love until it hurts, then there can be no more hurt, only more love.” So love…love…love…

Nikki was busy in her room when Luke came in to ask her if it was her idea to get an invite from Inigo to his cousin’s birthday party to watch Joey’s band play? Nikki said she thought there was nothing wrong with them watching Joey’s band play. Luke told her that he is fine now and decided he is going to prove it to Nikki that he’s moved on. Luke agreed to go to the gig. The only catch is that Nikki has to be the one to ask permission from Richard. Nikki agreed.
Go Get Them Cho
In San Nicolas, Kute has a surprise for Cho. Together with Reno and Bugoy, Kute intended to teach Cho self defense. She first explained to Cho that she is going to teach him to box but only for self defense. She made sure Cho understood that he is not to use this to bully other kids or to brag. He is to use these skills to protect himself if from someone who tries to hurt him. Cho understood.
Nikki gets a call from Nicolo asking her why is she hanging out with Inigo today and why did Inigo invite her and Luke to the party this weekend? Nikki asked Nicolo why all the question? Nicolo reminded Nikki what Inigo did to her during the prom. Nikki told Nicolo that is old news. Nikki said that if him and Luke can become friends with him, why not her?Nicolo said that their situation is different. Nikki didn’t understand why is it different. Nicolo insist that Nikki stay away from Inigo to Nikki’s surprise. She asked him why? Again, Nicolo sasid it is because of what he did to her during the prom. Nikki thought that was a lame excuse. She tells him to get over it (ha ha Niknik, i am sure deep inside, you are happy to hear Nicolo concerned…hmmmm suddenly i hear Donny Osmond singing…And they call it puppy lo ha ha ove!)
Kute continued teaching Cho how to block punches and then do his jabs. (In fairness, Cho is a good student. He got the idea right away. I can’t wait to see how he gives one upper cut to that bully Ronron to make him eat dirt. I find myself cheering for Cho.) Nikki asked Nicolo why he is so concerned about them going to the gig? Nicolo said he doesn’t want Luke and Joey to see each other anymore. Why? Nikki asked again. Nicolo said that Luke is already moving on from Joey. He wants Luke and him to go to Cheska’s (i guess that is the spelling of her name?) party instead. Nicolo asked Nikki why she thinks it is a good idea for Luke to see Joey? Nikki said it is because she thinks they still love each other. Nicolo was speechless. Nikki took that as in agreement with her so she hung up the phone on Nicolo who still wanted to talk to her. Nikki scratches her head, annoyed. She has been evading Nicolo but he continues to make subtle moves. Meanwhile Kute keeps on teaching Cho how to box. (What a mom Kute is? Sometimes sensitive and understanding sometimes a boxing coach ha ha)
Ayan na pinakita na si Mayabels… naiiyak na agad ako…dumating na si Ricky…iyakan na, iyakan na, iyakan na!

Sometimes in life we end up making mistakes out of our desire to protect the ones we love, trying to shield them from further hurt without us realizing doing so makes the whole situation worse than it really is. And just sometimes, we do end up making unwise choices that can come back to haunt us later, the kind that may cause us much guilt and regret, and hurt the very people whom we truly care about. When we are confronted with such a predicament, the most sensible thing to do is to be brave… face the consequences… talk it out… find solutions… make up for it to those we’ve hurt the most and move on.
DE’s inadvertent revelation of the real reason to Richard’s spat with his father affected Maya profoundly despite her composed demeanor, which worried DE and Manang Fe and both immensely bothered how it would impact and affect Richard, Maya and their relationship. With guilt and deep concern, DE waited for her son to arrive to apologize and give a heads up of the gravity of the situation. As Richard learned what transpired, with worried look and uncertain of Maya’s reaction could only humbled himself trying to remedy the situation trying to convince her to have dinner and offering to bring her home.
Saying sorry can be difficult thing to do, but in any relationship, every so often we need to say “I am sorry” if only to calm our loved ones down for the wrong done. For sorry may be one simple word often neglected and set aside, but really it means feeling the pulse of a loved one’s pain as well as our own; sharing it with them binding us together in sadness in the face of the wrong done. But really, sorry means we leave ourselves open, to embrace and be vulnerable for sorry is a request that begs forgiveness from a heart that won’t settle until things are set right. Although it doesn’t take the wrong back, but it pushes things forward; it bridges the gap… for sorry is not only an offering but a gift…. a gift of humility… of love… of respect… and hope for better things ahead.
Richard, deeply hurt (both for him and for Maya) and affected knowing how affected Maya had been of his nondisclosure of the real reason of his fight with his father, simply couldn’t contain himself and unsure of how to bring the matter to his beloved genuinely and extremely regretful of his actions for it had been one of those moments when all the best intentions unraveled and things that he never thought would happen did happen and spiral out of control and the very person he would have wanted shielded from all the pain and hurt had been doubly hurt in the process.
But as love has a way of altering any bad situation, Maya once again successfully went beyond the very issue and see past thru the wrong, well beyond the pain… the hurt, and simply with the pureness of her heart found it in herself to open her heart once again and simply understand her Sir Chief, his father and the very reason that put her between this two men. For she fully understood… for indeed true love is loving that someone one even with their faults and flaws… forgiving and forgetting the wrong done… and simply be enduring and kind, not easily angered, always trusting and hoping for the best and never failing and be defeated by the adversities presented at them. For she truly and genuinely embraced love – its beauty; its reality; its complexity; even its obscurity, for she embraced it all, wholeheartedly, openly.. body, mind and soul. For true love is not how we forgive, but how we forget, not what we see but what we feel, not how we listen but how we understand, and not how we let go but how we hold on.
In the end, we know we truly love somebody when they hurt us so badly, and yet all we can think about are the times when they made us smile… when they made us genuinely happy.

At the mansion, Maya shows Abby the pictures of the orphans at the orphanage. Abby asked if she could become friends with the kids because they do not have a family? Maya encouraged her. Downstairs, Dona E and Manang Fe watch the obviously sad Maya with Abby. Dona E is feeling very guilty for accidentally letting the cat out of the bag. Manang Fe consoles her by saying she didn’t do it with malicious intent. Dona E agreed but she could see what it did to Maya. Dona E is worried that Richard is going to think that she is meddling. She is worried Richard will be upset with her. Suddenly, Richard comes home. (Uh oh someone’s in trouble.) He parks the car and sees the worried Dona E with Manang Fe by the front door. Dona E immediately apologized to Richard and told him she didn’t do it on purpose. (Wow I think there is an entire scene that they cut off here. Just an editing tactic I guess. Everything is implied.) Richard asked where Maya is? (Richard is once more left to put out the fire.) He runs inside the house to Maya. Upstairs, he sees Maya with Abby. He asked what they were doing? Abby said it is for his birthday party and it is a surprise. Maya closed the laptop and said she is glad he made it home because she is ready to leave. Richard asked if she is staying for dinner?Maya made some excuse that she still need to get ready for work the next day. Richard said he will take her home. They walk out the front door. Manang Fe, Dona E and Abby followed them to see them off. Manang Fe asked Maya if she is sure that she didn’t want to stay for dinner? Maya said she is sure. Dona E wished them safe travels and so did Abby. Inside the house, Dona E wondered if Richard and Maya would be ok? Manang Fe said she is sure that once Richard explains it to her, they will be just fine. Nikki comes downstairs looking for her Ate Maya. They told her she left already. Nikki was sad that Maya did not tell her she is leaving. She turned around and walked back upstairs. She calls Maya to tell her that she didn’t know what to do with Mallows. She told her that she tried to evade him but he keeps showing up. She also said that Nicolo is always with Luke and he is questioning his friendship with Inigo. Then Nikki said Nicolo is meddling with her and Luke’s plan to go to Joey’s gig. Maya told her first of all, to calm down. Then Maya asked her if she could call her later when she gets home. Nikki got the idea that Richard is still with Maya. After Maya hung up the phone, Richard asked what that was all about? Maya responds that it is girl talk. Richard asked her if she isn’t gonna tell him? Maya comes back to ask Richard if he is telling her everything? ( i didn’t see this one coming but i understand her because she did ask Richard but he did not tell her the truth about what him and his father were arguing about.) Richard knew what Maya meant.
Back at the mansion, Joma and Doris were taste testing Sabel’s dish complete with bantering back and forth. Sabel was excited about her dish because apparently it does taste good. She serves it at the dining table but only to see that Dona E didn’t want to eat just yet and Maya and Richard left. Downstairs at the guest room, Don R brings Dona E a scarf for a gift. Dona E said thank you but she isn’t too happy. She began to tell Don R that she knows the topic of the disagreement between him and Richard was not about business. Don R once more defended himself by saying that he’s just being practical and what he is doing is for Richard’s own good. Dona E retorts back and asked how is it possible he is thinking of Richard when he practically accused Maya of someone with a bad intention? Don R replies and said that it is better safe than sorry. Dona E tells him that what’s wrong with him is that all that he thinks about are business, money, properties etc. but he isn’t thinking about the other important matters in life. Don R asked her “Like what? Ricky’s happiness?” “Yes” Dona E said. “I wasn’t asking them to separate. All I am saying is that if you are starting to talk about marriage, that is a different story. I understand that Ricky loves Maya now, but suppose it changes? Suppose they get into a disagreement? Suppose they separate? Suppose Maya sues Richard?” Dona E let out a huge sigh and explained to Don R that during her many conversations with Maya she learned how she was raised. She learned how Maya survived life so she knows in her heart that Maya will not do those things he is thinking she is capable of doing. Don R said “Maybe, maybe not.” (What an ugly man you are Don Say What…looking at people only through your negative lenses. Putting on blinders and refuse to see Maya for the real person that she is.) “My point is, Ricky has three children. He does not need to be romantic about this. He needs to be practical” (he says this with his annoying bug eyes. He’s so G R R R)

Everybody noticed that there was a sudden changed of Richard’s outfit. I thought it was just me having problems with my eyes. I saw the teaser that Richard is wearing again that purple shirt when he got home and was talking to Nikki. Was there an oversight on the part of the PA?
Cho, you don’t need boxing training to defend yourself from Ron-ron. You’re bigger than him and just punch him once and he will Run-run away from you (joke lang). I’m sure Cho will do something to Ron-ron that will make him realize that it’s bad to hurt people and will teach him how to be a better person.
Yes the change of outfit. I believe that would be the oversight of the editors. They need to identify the scenes that belong together or are part of a continuous scenario. I believe the PA just brings the appropriate clothes but that is all dictated in the script maybe…
I agree that Cho could beat up Ronron all by himself even without boxing training but the problem is Ronron have his goonie friends that help him. It’s three against one. That isn’t fair. ha ha

DR will have to be less pragmatic in his view of SC’s situation. He needs to realize na hindi niya puedeng iapply ang principle ng business sa love.
I can’t wait to see how his attitude and opinion of Maya is turned around. Hindi niya kasi kilala si Maya na no matter how stubborn si DR yakang yaka niya itransform with her possitivity. love this plot especially how Maya is so determined to prove DR wrong.
As for the shirt, is it possible they changed gear because they’ve been reading the posts here and decided on a different outcome thus had to re-shoot real quickie with whatever Ser Chief had on? Ha-ha-ha!

Love is generally the thread that runs through the storyline of Be Careful with My Heart. Maya is the heart of the story from whom love naturally emanates from. It is what inspires and motivates her to do what she does. She essentially breathes it on anyone that crosses her path. Presently, she showers it on the entire Lim household where she serves as a model on how to effectively demonstrate it to others. Everyone who is a beneficiary of her love then goes on to spread it to others, as well. It has worked like a charm before, therefore, she has no reason to think why it would fail her now as she plans to employ the same modus operandus on her most difficult challenge thus far, Don Roberto.
Maya’s charm works on everybody. She managed to melt the cold-hearted Sir Chief, the once self-absorbed master of the house. She has done such a great job in her mission of imparting what love is all about that he could not help but fall in love with her, as well. She has successfully turned a recalcitrant Luke to an obedient and considerate son. Furthermore, she has patiently rehabilitated the stubborn and once prejudiced Nikki to open her myopic view on things and embrace a more acceptable stance on how to deal with socio-economic inequality in society. In so doing, she has substantially made an impactful difference in her character. Abby soaks up her nanny’s charm and has unwittingly become her mini-version and her biggest champion in furthering her mission. Abby is basically applying the joy and love that she has learned from her and touching others in like manner.
Sir Chief’s parents are Maya’s latest challenge. Dona Esmeralda and Don Roberto are virtual strangers to her. Each day provides an opportunity to discover something about their personality and a new revelation into their character. Initially, Dona Esmeralda’s obvious disapproval and open declaration that she thinks Maya is unworthy of her son, seems to be insurmountable. A mother who feels there is absolutely no one who can ever measure up to her standards of who her son should bring into his life seems arduously formidable. However, Maya successfully won her over with her sincerity and kindness. It has been a painstaking process but the result is just the same. Dona Esmeralda is now a fan of Maya.
Don Roberto however proves to be more intimidating than his wife. Winning him over is definitely going to be a herculean task. His seemingly unbending stance in wealth preservation and family protection fundamentally clouds his vision of Maya. To him, Maya is a social predator who desires a better life and has basically considered his son as her ticket out of poverty. He is convinced, although his preconceived notions about her are totally unfounded, that he must protect Richard and his grandchildren at all cost. He feels that he must legally secure their assets for their future. In his quest to do so, he totally disregards his son’s feelings and unintentionally cause a rift in their relationship.
However, unbeknownst to Don Roberto, he is no match for Maya’s charm. Maya is presently devising ways in which to effectively change his mind about her. With Sir Chief’s support, she will eventually triumph and win him over. Don Roberto does not realize that he has nothing to fear about Maya. All he needs to do is spend time with her, get to know her and learn that she is totally harmless. He will discover that she is, in fact, the paragon of grace and virtue. She will inevitably prove to him that she is the standard by which other women ought to be measured against. Given some time, he too will fall under her spell and he will eventually fall in love with her, as well.

Putting myself in SC’s shoes / in the writer’s mind…
– malapit ng ma declare si Maya as National Martyr! Over sa patience at understanding! Nasaktan lang siya kasi hindi sinabi ni SC sa kanya and not because pinag isipin siya ng masama? Wow girl! Ikaw na! (May tao bang kagaya niya?)
– SC knows what gem he has. He will not give her up. They will not cool off. And he is at lost as to how to change his Dad’s opinion as well.
– He is still like any other guy. Ayaw naman talaga nilang nag didiscuss ng problema di ba? Lalo na at emotion ang pinag uusapan. They wouldn’t know how to deal with that. They just lived with it) He can do that again. After all, matanda na siya. Wala na naman talagang say ang Papa niya sa mga desisyon niya. Its his wealth. **I guess this is why the writer’s are putting all the challenges in Maya’s way. To justify the helplessness SC feels for making her work hard to gain the trust of the people around him.
– He could care less of others opinions but he couldn’t dahil alam niyang hindi magiging masaya si Maya hanggang hindi masaya ang lahat ng taong mahal niya. Yes, they are the ones in the relationship but Maya’s love is love one, love all. I think that’s the strongest values he learned from Maya — selfless love.
*** And somehow, like how she is always surprising, Maya understands that. Her SC in feeling a lot worse than her. At least siya alam niya kung anong gagawin niya. May solusyon siya sa lahat ng problema. While her SC is having a hard time reconciling what he wants to do and what he has to do. He needs comforting more than she does.
I think part of the magic of the show is that the writers are aware that Maya is a person that is too good to be true but at the same time she seems to depict someone that we all know. In actuality, she is the accumulated totality of everything that we admire in the various women that we have ever come to love and want to emulate. So there. They have given us a model that we can aspire to become. Even if we just emulate a small percentage of her persona, we would already have become a better person and therefore come out us winners for having done so.
Thanks for posting that thought and stimulating mine with it. It made me reflect on Maya’s enviable qualities, as well, and why I am so addicted to the show.

DR needs to realize that by doing that to Maya, he is insulting SC. He should have known by now that his son is a good judge of character. And sabi nga ng ibang adik, pera lang ba talaga ang habol ng babae kay SC? Isn’t he lovable enough? Its in a way, insulting din sa pagpapalaki nila sa anak nila.
I couldn’t ask more from RY’s performance. Iniintindi ko rin na mahirap maglabas ng emotion lalo pa at he’s relatively new. Kahit na lito ako dun sa scene na yun, feel ko yung pain, frustration, being at loss…whether it was on purpose or ganun lang lumabas sa akin, ang tingin ko, nag clam up si SC sa away na yun.
As for the shirt, is it possible they changed gear because they’ve been reading the posts here and decided on a different outcome thus had to re-shoot real quickie with whatever Ser Chief had on? Ha-ha-ha!
Lahat yata tayo na confuse doon. Kaya nga tinry kong intindihin kung anong gusto nilang ipalabas dun.
Maybe SC is still trying to find a way not to hurt both and getting his way. May mga tao na ayaw ng pinag uusapan ang mga bagay-bagay hangga’t hindi nila alam kung paano i deal.

feeling ko inuumpisahan na ng mga writers ang story arc sa magiging big conflict before the proposal.
It is so frustrating to see Maya give all the love and “protect” SC’s feelings when it should be the other way around. On the other hand, I do understand, hard as it may be, that the show is trying to portray a character that wants to balance everything and everyone in his life. To be a son, a father, a CEO, a boss and a boyfriend all at the same time is not easy and SC’s character is someone who doesn’t wear his heart on his sleeve and more on logical than romantic.
As for the shirt, baka naman latest craze yung suot na shirt, latest technological advancement in wearing clothing hahahaha tipong changing colors in whatever color setting you set it ha ha ha… joke!!!
BUT THIS IS THE TIME TO SHOW SOME PASSION SER CHIEF!! The way things are going in the show, its not amiss to have some word war. Talk, scream, curse, fight! Ang hirap pag ang mga lalaki nag aaway. Hindi makapag usap. Puro matigas ang ulo. They don’t know how to get the idea across. Suntukan na lang kayo, sige!
I hope D R. will realize that the world is round and life is turning like wheels.now you are at the bottom but next time you will be on top so my advice to you

Maya must have spent her time with Abby, pondering on what action to take. Well, if, as Dona E says, Roberto doesn’t know her, then he will. “Ang nananalo ay hindi sumusuko at ang sumusuko ay hindi nananalo”. In many ways, he and Maya are alike. So, “iba (ba talaga) si Papa”? Matira ang matibay.
The car scene was very tender and as we looked forward to, nag-LQ nga sila. And they both had valid points. Maya felt she should have been told the truth, and Ser Chief meant well but shouldn’t have had to lie to protect her, so, thank you, Dona E. In the meantime, Ser Chief is still bothered and Maya is still hurting but is more concerned for her Ser Chief. It’s funny that while we thought Ser Chief should be consoling her, she was, true to form, the one consoling him. However, the teaser seems to bode well… until the next twist?

Tama! at pag brineak ni SC si Maya, kahit mahal na mahal pa sya ni Maya syempre me pride pa din naman si Maya at mahu-hurt sya ng sobra. Kaya hinding hinding hindi sya maghahabol kay SC. Pipilitin nyang mag move on. Enter ang mga suitors ni Maya.
Sa kabilang dako, sising alipin naman ang singkit. Depress-depressan ang buhay nya at marerealize nya na hindi sya mabubuhay ng wala si Maya.
Eto na ang suyuan blues. Sya naman ang maghahabol ng bonggang bongga kay Maya. At dahil makikinig si Maya sa mga amuyong nya (tayo yun), hindi sya bibigay agad. Pahihirapan nya muna si SC. I love this episode kasi ipinakita nyo ang kakaibang dynamics ng relationship ni SC at Maya. Mostly sa TV dramas nakikita lang sa situation na to yung babae inayawan ng magulang ng lalaki dahil sa katayuan ng buhay tapos ang focus lang yung nararamndaman ng babae PERO DITO SA BCWMH pinakita rin kung anong nararamdaman noong lalaki.
I fully understand why Maya was consoling Richard kasi nakita nya kung gaano kaapekto si SC sa ginawa ng magulang nya.Ang audience kasi sanay na yung sa inaapi ang sole attention ng story not really knowing na yung lalaki is also hurting. There was no question anymore kung meron bibigay sa kanila or meron mangyayaring breakup. Sabi nga ni SC na nahihiya na sya kasi alam na nya ang ending eh si Maya ang mahihirapan. Si Maya naman on the other hand alam na nya na mahihirapan si SC kasi nga magkakastrain sa relationship ng mag-ama.
Pinakita rin dito ang insecurities at weaknesses ni SC along with kung gaano nya kamahal si Maya. Kasi alam na nya ang gagawin nya which is to defy his father. There was no question about it, SC WILL DEFY HIS FATHER WHEN IT COMES TO MAYA. Yun ang isa sa kinalulungkot nya kasi
Sino ba naman anak ang gustong pahirapan ang kanyang magulang. Remember that he is an only son. Ako kasi close sa father ko so hindi ko ma-imagine that yung gustong kong puntahan na direksyon ng buhay ko hindi suportado ng tatay ko. It is really amazing that the writers were able to tap on this point.
Ganda kasi equal yung treatment ng story. They were also able to tell na pantay yung relationship ni SC and Maya. Pwede silang mag-voice out ng nararamdaman nila to each other na hindi takot sa isa’t isa. Ganon na yung level ng relationship nila. Kakatuwa. Kasi yun naman ang dapat di ba. It also showed kung gaano kamahal ni SC si Maya.
Kung nagtataka kayo kung bakit laging question yun ano ang kulang kay Maya kasi yung naman po ang major conflict naman talaga ng story. Sobrang mayaman si lalaki, mahirap si babae. Watered down na nga yung conflicts eh kasi in real life mas madugo. Remember, dating katulong ang pakakasalan. Hindi lahat matatanggap yon.
KUDOS TO RICHARD YAP LUMELEVEL UP NA ACTING MO KAY JODI STA MARIA!
Katulad nyo kahit ako naguluhan sa episode ngayon (that is sa car scene ni SC and Maya). Pero nakaktuwa na mabasa yung in-depth analysis nyo. It only shows na karamihan talga sa followers ng BCWH are thinking and intelligent viewers. At para maiba naman want to mention lang yung goodnight kiss ni Maya kay SC ay lumevel-up na yata.She’s actually touching SC nape na. Kilig lang. At yung last frame ng episode teaser grabe lang yung chemistry. Bagay na bagay.

Sorry to be blabbing like a crazed woman here but the episode today, specifically the Maya-Ser Chief interactions made me pull my hair out of frustration!!!!!
What I’m about to blab about might have already been mentioned by other posters today. Sorry, I didn’t do any back-reading anymore. I’m just too disappointed
I could end up “eating my words” in a few days, but I just feel that if I don’t say these, I will explode! So pardon me but heck I’m gonna vent!
Why am I upset? Well, let me count the ways (err…reasons)
1. Maya the saint
Yes, I dare call her that after what she has gone through and what she still continues to go through in this story. Like seriously? You just found out that you’re soon-to-be father-in-law is thinking that you’re some cheap gold digger and yet you’re complaining that Ser Chief failed to tell you ahead???? When he says “sorry” everything’s fine and dandy again? I mean, who thinks like that?!
So I’m guessing that as long as Ser Chief goes on telling you that Don Roberto wants/requires a pre-nup, you’ll be all cozy with him still for as long as your BF tells you everything?! Where’s your sense of pride?! Whatever happened to the Maya who wouldn’t let Ser Chief call her a “flirt”?!
2. Can someone find Ser Chief’s missing balls?
I know..I know…we all go gaga over how hot this fellow is. But looks come and go. We’ve been touched by his “fatherly” moments with his kids enough to make us cry buckets.
Now as a BF? Really? Have we felt he’s done enough to deserve such a saintly GF? As a viewer, I’ve yet to be impressed. Like REALLY.
Yeah..yeah, he went all the way to San Nicolas to talk to her and get her to say “Yes”, brought flowers to her family for mother’s day, talked to Nanay Tere to ask for permission, and I’m not forgetting his first ride on the MRT. But is that all? I say, he has been having it easy breezy.
I think he’s a much better father than he’ll ever be as a BF or even a husband. Why not just be a dad forever?!
More than Maya, I think he’s the one acting all “sensitive” and “oh-i-need-someone-to-protect-me” in this story. It appears that it’s Maya who’s supposed to “be careful with Ser Chief’s heart”.
Case in point, the car scene earlier. He didn’t want to discuss the matter/ his mistake with Maya. Had he not seen Maya’s tears, I doubt if he’d ever have the balls to talk to her. “I’m sorry” line was a weak attempt to shut Maya up. He even had the guts to say “Let’s not talk about this. Is that okay?” Of course it’s not okay you selfish dude! If you’re really sorry, you’d be the one consoling Maya not *****ing about “hating this”. If you really think that Maya’s solution will mean she would have to adjust yet again, then DO SOMETHING FOR PETE’S SAKE! Don’t just sit there looking so defeated and expect Maya to be your pillar of strength when in this situation, it SHOULD BE YOU giving her support!
Okay, so you feel heart broken that you have to fight with your dad, whom you obviously love. But don’t you think that Maya might be feeling a lot worse for coming in between? And what do you do? You didn’t even bother to send her home properly?!
Sorry, but that’s just LAME Ser Chief! And lame rich-middle-aged men are just unacceptable!
3. Run for your life Maya
If our dear Maya is gonna be stuck for the rest of her life with this type of man, I’d rather her break it off with Ser Chief. The man doesn’t know when to put his foot down and fight for his woman! Who cares what Don Roberto says? You have a mind of your own. You’re already 45 yrs old and doesn’t have much time to spend with your soon-to-be wife who’s 25. You can’t expect her to understand you ALL THE TIME. She still has the option to find someone else who’d be man enough to protect her. Maya doesn’t need another person to protect, she already has a lot back in San Nicolas. If you’re gonna be of any use to Maya in the remaining years of your life with her, then act like the man she dream you to be! Not some cry baby who needs to be consoled all the time.
Maya can’t walk on egg shells all her life just because Ser Chief ‘s too delicate to face challenges!
Sorry, I’ve said things that might be distasteful for others. I just had to vent. As of the moment, I’m unable to understand Ser Chief. I know I can be proven wrong in the days to come. But not today.
Ugh. This is just too stressful. I rest my case for now.

hmmm… Richard is very angry and disappointed at himself for not being able to spare Maya from hurting for he has no control over his father’s insult to Maya’s own person. he would have probably preferred to solve the problem by himself without unloading the reason to Maya for that is the only way he can protect her but fate took a twist and it was made known to Maya with a double whammy effect that the truth of the matter was hidden from her by her Ser Chief which added to the insult already inflicted by Richard’s father.
once again no matter how hurt and conflicted Maya is, her love for Richard prevailed. she made it easy for Richard to find a solution on how they can tackle their problem with his father which obviously made Richard feel more guilty and ashamed hence he cannot even accept Maya’s invitation for a coffee. i hope this will not trigger Richard into thinking that he does not deserve a great woman like Maya and realise that he is not the man who can give her happiness thus will let her go.

Maya talks to Nanay T and she thought that everything is ok now between Maya and Richard’s Mom? Maya said yes, they are ok but she also thinks she is going to have a hard time with Richard’s Dad. Nanay T said “that is how Fathers are. They seem tough at times but you can still get them with your sweet disposition.” Maya puts herself in her Father’s shoe to think of what he would want if she was a Father? Nikki talks to Nicolo once again. Nicolo was surprised that Nikki was able to convince Luke to go and watch Joey’s gig. Nikki said she is Luke’s sister afterall and Nicolo is just a best friend. So Nicolo said ok, he’ll go with them to the gig. Nikki asked, “how about Cheska’s party?” Nicolo said that’s fine. Nikki is more important than that party (weeeee! I dunno why I am so excited with these two. Their chemistry is electrifying ha ha) Maya is cooking up a dish “Bistek Tagalog” for Don Roberto. Dona E talks to Richard and tells him to talk to his father. She thinks he will listen this time. Maya asks Richard if he is on his way to work? Richard said no. He is going to see his Dad. She tells Richard to come and pick up the food she’s cooked for him. However, Richard wanted Maya to go with him to see his Dad. Maya and Richard walks into the room. We see Ryan and Don Roberto getting up from the table. They seemed to have had a long meeting (hmmmm I am going to go out of the limb and predict that Don R has asked Ryan to draft a prenup for Richard…but then again, I think it may be too soon? After all, Richard has not proposed yet. Oh well, we’ll see) Richard is heard saying “And he realized that he is wrong about it? you?” (I couldn’t make out what Richard actually said there. Just abangan tomorrow.

The conversation in the car is the most poignant scene in this episode. JSM and RY did justice to their roles here. Both delivered their lines very convincingly. Deeply felt. Communication is the process of sending and receiving messages yet, for it to be effective, it requires accurate and precise expression of thoughts, feelings and emotions that are accurately understood by the receiver otherwise it will be ineffective when the message being sent is unclear or the receiver cannot understand the message the person is attempting to send. It is generally aimed to provide understanding, encouragement and actionable results. Communication in a family is complicated and personal as it involves different personalities, perspectives and circumstances. Effective communication will result in a strong family unit that is unified, able to handle conflict and trust one another, otherwise ineffective communication causes fighting, bickering and outbursts of frustration.
We are all equally guilty of hearing but not really listening as we are guilty of talking but not really communicating- for the most part we are too preoccupied with a lot of things that the messages imparted more often than not are lost in transmission or our own judgments and prejudices impaired the meaning of the message thereby subjected to different interpretations. When Richard and Maya dropped by the office in Taguig unannounced to bring lunch for DR as their way to reaching out and patching things between father and son, DR may have perceived it as a nice gesture and yet sending that mixed signal as an intrusion and waste of his time. Richard being on the same plane as his dad should have known better that with business and businessmen, time is crucial and time wasted is money wasted but then again, he missed out on that fact thinking family is far more important than any business transaction. And yet again when the eyes say one thing, and the tongue another, a practiced man relies on the language of the first, clearly communication in this sense was so distorted and skewed that messages sent and received had been interpreted differently by both men, past emotions and resentments adding into the complexity of the situation including someone like Maya caught in between the misunderstanding and unresolved conflict between father and son.
And yet again, when DR told Ricky that he’s treating the whole family for lunch; while the message was crystal clear both father and son had different interpretation to the word family. Richard misconstrued DR’s invitation to include Maya – while Richard may consider Maya as part of his family… or even the kids to include DE embracing Maya as family, fact remained… Maya may be family to them in their hearts but as far as DR is concerned,she’s still not part of the Lim family – plain and simple. All communication problems between father and son may very well be due to the reason that they may have listened yet didn’t seem to understand or yet again both may had understood and yet interpreted differently. Or they simply listened only to reply without understanding, without clarity or without speaking the same language. For in the end, communication is only fruitful if and only if the message sent by the sender is interpreted with same meaning by the receiver… for communicating is not only about what we say but it is also about the way we say it.
The most basic of all human needs is that need to understand and be understood… and the best way to understand people is to listen to them. But ultimately, people will forget what is being said… people will forget what is done… but people will never forget how you made them feel.

This also goes with the forum. Sometimes we say things that may be offensive to others that we don’t intend. We may think it is funny but to others, they take it the wrong way. If I was the offender, I have to think maybe it is in the way I said it. And for the offended, maybe they just read it wrong. The bottom line is, we all need to be sensitive to others when saying or posting things and at the same time sensible enough to understand if what was said or done was intentional. If not clear, by all means ask. There is nothing wrong about clarifying things.

Nagtitext si Cho kay Kute na di daw kinuha ni Ron ron ang baon niya. Biglang sumulpot si Ronron at inagaw celfone ni Cho, nag agawan sila until tumalsik ang celfone. Sobrang galit ni Cho susuntokin sana si Ronron pero di itinuloy binalaan niya na lang… next time daw isusumbong na siya sa principal… tulala ang ronron.
i was out for probably two months until now. i lost track of some of the episodes for
i was busy travelling around manila, cagayan de oro and iligan
city. it was a very nice vacation for me and my two kids. except
for one incident that almost cost my own life. i thought i would
give my children some thrill to treat them for a river rafting in
cagayan de oro. we were wearing life vest just in case you would be thrown
out into the water. i was thrown alright. the current was strong after
that rainy days. because of the strong current, i noticed i could hardly
get afloat because the current was pushing me down even with the lifevest.
i was under the water for minutes without oxygen. i must have drunk lots
of water in my lungs. i passed out and the next time i knew, the operator
was on top of me and happy to see me conscious. he said that they had almost
given up on me. one more minute, I could have died already since they had been
doing the cpr for almost 5 minutes already.
thank God, I am still here to be able to talk to you and enjoy your good
company. and when the episode is over,we will be on our separate way just
reminiscing the time we spend together chatting with this particular drama.

Nakipag ayos na si DR kay SC and invited the whole family to eat outside. SC thought kasama si Maya sa invitation hindi pala dahil nun nasa resto na sila for 6 person lang yun reservation and Maya not included.
As BCWMH continues…I can’t seem to imagine that an end to this great teleserye will come. I don’t think it will come soon..Make it another year nalang kaya.
By the way, it was my Birthday a few days back..and I got this one unexpected gift from a co worker…Because he knows that I am so gaga over “Ser chief”..he gave me a nice picture frame of Richard Yap..until now, I just can’t get over with his actions..it still make me laugh ..kaya mga minks..i have ser chief beside me..he is on my bedside table…haaay ba naman itong BCWMH.. i thank you for making my life nice and easy.
I’m glad na si Luke umeeffort na makapag move on sa kanila ni Joey, I think importante ang closure talaga dahil as far as I can remember sa phone lang sila nagbreak which is parang hindi talaga maganda. Salamat naman at natauhan si Joey sa maling desisyon na ginawa nya pagbreak kay Luke dahil ang babaw ng naging rason nya..pero hindi na ako umaasa na magkakabalikan sila.. Let’s just move on mas ok maging friends hehe.
Nicolo and Nikki – Sa episode ngayon sila lang ang bukod tanging nagpa ngiti sa akin.. Si Nikki parang hindi na crush ang tingin nya kay Nicolo mukhang more than that! I hope mauntog na din si Nicolo at marealize nya na meron pala syang tinatagong tingin for Nikki. I can’t wait na mag grow pa ang friendship nila.
At the mansion, Richard in his purple shirt this time (the stylist and the director is confused which part of the story is the next scene. I believe they need the help of an OCD like me ha ha…hire me ABS CBN and I will straighten you up.) talks to Nikki and Luke asking them why they are still up? (Ummm Richard, they are still doing their homework don’t you see?) Nikki asked Richard if they could go to the gig tomorrow night? Richard asked where? Nikki tells him it’s at Strings. Richard asked who are going? Nikki enumerated everyone in their group including Luke and Nicolo. Richard said ok but to be home by 10. Luke and Nikki got excited. Richard told them to make sure Joma is with them all the time. (Wow, the rich people are really like that? The kids have their own driver that caters to them everywhere they go…I never had that kind of opportunity. I fact, I am the driver of my kids. I am Joma ha ha) With that Luke said goodnight and left to his room while Nikki stayed behind to ask his Dad if he thought Maya might still be up? Richard said maybe but wondered if Nikki planned to call her again? Nikki said no, she just wanted to know why she left early and if she is ok? Richard didn’t know what to say. “Oh my G Dad! I knew something was up with her. She sounded sad on the phone. Did you and her have an argument?” Nikki asked Richard. He told Nikki they are fine. Then Nikki told him he should get her something to say sorry (Wow Nikki, you are assuming right away that if they had a disagreement, that it is his fault huh? Yeah you are thinking just like a woman. Hi5 Niknik) “Like what?” Richard asked her. Something she will like Nikki said. Richard shakes his head and asked Nikki if she was changing the subject so that he won’t ask her about her frequent calls to Maya? Nikki didn’t want to tell him. So Richard said he understands that she does not want to tell him right now but whatever it is, whatever she is feeling now, it’s just temporary. Nikki said she hopes so. Richard said he knows so (ha! Nikki, father knows best.) They both felt better until Richard asked her again if she was going to tell him now? Nikki said No. Richard smiled a little because she still said no. Then he suddenly became solemn again. Nikki noticed. “Are You ok Dad?” she asked. Richard said he’ll be ok…*sigh
You are Enough
At the De La Rosas, Kute walks in the door to find Nanay T crying. She asks her what’s the matter? Nanay T tells Kute she is worried about Maya. Kute asked if Dona E was mean to her again? Nanay T said no but she wants to know the truth from Kute. She wants to know if they had a hard time when their father left. Kute admits, at the beginning , it was tough but why was she asking these questions? Nanay T said it is because of Maya. She felt so sad for her because when they talked, Maya asked her how does she get in the good graces of a father? Nanay T begins to cry. She said that it is sad that Maya who is so full of love does not have any idea how to deal with a father. Nanay T is upset with her husband because when he left and never came back, he didn’t think how that affected Kute and Maya. Kute tells her Mom that no matter what the absence of their father lacked, she gave it all to her and Maya. As a matter of fact, her love was over flowing. Nanay T said it isn’t enough. Kute tells her Mom that with what happened to Cho, the more she realized the importance of having a complete family. A family with parents that will guide and love them. But she also realized how much Nanay T’s sacrificed for her and Maya and how they should be thankful for her. Kute said that what Nanay T did was admirable because she stood as both Mother and Father to the two of them. Kute said she understands how hard that is. And then she tells her mother that even while their father is absent, with Nanay T, Maya and her never felt that there is something missing. All they could remember were the happy times even if it is just them. So she wants Nanay T to remember that she never lacked about caring and loving her children. Kute hopes that she could also do the same for Cho. Nanay T tells Kute that without a doubt, she would be a great Mom. Kute wipes her mother’s tears and hugs her. (What a bittersweet moment…I am in kleenex mode just recapping this scene. Aiza and Sylvia…outstanding!) At the condo, Maya sits in her bed thinking long and hard what to do with Don Roberto. She is doing self talk and said if Don R was her father, what would he like? Then it seemed an idea crept in her brain. She let out a slight smile.
Cho – Sa wakas natapos na din ang kalbaryo ng batang ito! Long overdue na ang bully na yun. At buti na lang may guts na rin sya na lumabas para di sya apihin.
I cry me a river kay kute at Nanay Teresita, parang malapit ng lumitaw ang tatay ni maya at si Don Julio, i won’t be surpised kung bandang huli lilitaw na mayaman din si maya at lolo pala niya si Don Julio, OMG. Me and my imagination, hahahaha, as always thank you BCWMH ,…time tosleep maaga pa work bukas..
Kute & Nanay Teresita – Hindi ko man lumubasan maintindihan ang nararamdaman ni Aling teresita pero alam ko mahirap na iisang magulang lang ang kinalakihan ng anak. Hahanap at hahanap pa rin sila ng father or mother figure.5. Maya cooking for Don Roberto just show na sobrang importante ang buong family ni Richard for her. Kung tutuusin hindi naman kay kelangan gawin yun para ma please lang yun matandang masama ang ugali.. At the end of the day just like what Atty Ryan said silang dalawa lang naman ang magkakaunawaan.Yun scenes sa office na harap harapan sobrang intense, kulang na lang magkainan sila ng buhay eh. You can see na hindi sincere si Don Roberto, ano lang ba yun konti minuto na magsabay sila kumain 3? hindi ba sya pwede maging civil at magpasalamat na yun effort na ginawa ni Maya for him.. Oo biglaan pero ano ba naman yun!
So luv the Nanay T-Kute convo, really brought me to tears…so touching! And not to forget, Sylvia Sanchez’ acting prowess superbly done that I couldn’t help but remember that scene at the amusement park with SC seeking approval and blessing for his love for Maya.And Aiza is just as superb in delivering her lines and the needed emotions… so heartfelt, so moving… And that father-daughter convo as endearing and warm as well… Thankie sis for Friday’s synopsis as detailed and complete as can be… thankie for reliving the epi thru your words… Standing O for you as always…again and again… 🙂
Yun sa end teaser jusko sobrang na high blood ako. Ganun na lang ba kasama ugali ng matandang pobre na yun?. Diba sabi nya before hindi sa ayaw nya kay Maya pero bakit ganun? bastusan lang?? at anong pakitang tao lang ba yun? Ano na lang sasabihin ng mga apo mo sa ginawa mo na yan. Sobrang insulto sa pagkatao ni Maya. Why can’t he just say it na hindi nya gusto si Maya!! Go straight to the point hindi yun pinahahaba mo tapos sa huli yun din pala.
Cho sends a dit di dit dit to Kute telling her that everything seem to be ok with Ronron now. He enumerated the events of the day and was pleased to tell his Mom that all seem to be ok between them until Ronron shows up and grabs his phone to once more, bully him around. They fight over the cell phone until it falls out of Ronron’s hand. It flew to the ground and breaks. Cho was upset. He grabbed Ronron’s shirt and acted as if he is going to hit him with his closed fist. Ronron looked really stunned and scared. I think he didn’t expect this from Cho. Cho tells Ronron that the next time he does this to him again, he will tell the principal about him. Ronron was speechless.
This Will Be the Last Time
At the high school Joey was helping clean up when Nikki tells her to go on because she needs to prepare for her gig tonight. Joey asks Nikki if Luke was coming. Nikki confirmed and wondered if there was a problem? Joey said no, not at all and that it would be nice to see him there. They said goodbye and off she went. Nikki got a call from Nicolo. He was surprised that Nikki was able to convince Luke to go see Joey’s gig. Nikki tells him that blood is thicker than water. Nicolo tells Nikki that he didn’t call to argue with her. As a matter of fact, he thinks she is right. It is about time that Luke and Joey talk things over so that Luke could move on. Nicolo said he agrees and now he is going with them. Nikki was surprised that he wants to go. Nicolo said that he wants to help Nikki get the two together so they could talk. He thinks Nikki needs an ally to make things happen. Nikki was G R R R about this because she is wanting to evade Nicolo at all cost but here he is again. (Ha ha Nikki you will never be rid of that Mokong ha ha) She calmed herself down and thought that she is doing all this for his Kuya. She asked Nicolo how about Cheska’s party? Niclolo said, “Don’t worry about that party. You are more important after all.” (Weeeee! Not!) “Opkors you need someone to help you out or else your efforts will be wasted if the two doesn’t end up talking.” Nicolo said. With a big sigh, Nikki agreed. After hanging up the phone she does her self talk again promising herself that this will be the last time. After this, she will truly truly evade Nicolo once and for all.
On the way to Don Robertos, Maya and Richard talk about him. Maya said that he is really business minded. Richard said that he has been like that. He has involved himself in lots of business ventures before even in China but nothing big. Maya was impressed with him because he is now retired but still actively pursuing business interests. When Richard tells Maya that they are almost there, she becomes worried. She wants to be sure that what she cooked is ok and wants Richard to taste it. Richard feels her tension. He holds her hand and tells her everything will be alright. (Are you sure Richard? You are taking her to feed to the lion and everything will be alright? I am worried too. )
Damn! That is the meanest and the cruelest of all insults! Inviting the entire family for lunch so that automatically includes Maya since she’s considered FAMILY na nga by everyone…but you did not include her sa headcount?

- Don Roberto and his Alzheimer’s diseaseIsn’t he around that age when some men would suffer this disease? Give or take he’s probably 70 yrs old? So yeah, that’s the easiest way to explain his actions and behavior.Seriously, I’m trying to understand his reason as a father and as an old-rich. I must admit that any father would only want the best for his son. Any grandfather would also think of the welfare of his grandchildren. I commend him for that. But, to what extent is he willing to do that? Well, obviously, he couldn’t care less of “non-family” members!Noel Trinidad is doing a pretty good job acting as Ser Chief’s stern and closed minded dad. Reminds you a little of how Richard Yap’s dad once was like (read it on FB that he was also very strict & didn’t like RY marrying a non-chinese)I really like that scene where Maya and Ser Chief offered to have lunch with Don Roberto. The intense look that the father-son gave each other could really be felt by the viewers. It was evident that Ser Chief was just going through the motions of still being courteous to his dad even after DR declined Maya’s offer twice. Oh and kudos to Atty Ryan ( Cris Villanueva) too because he was very believable acting awkward around the three.

Likewise, I feel that Richard seeking his friend’s input on his present predicament with his Dad with regards to Maya, is a welcome scene. It effectively reminds viewers that they need to seek an objective point of view, a willing sounding board and an honest opinion when conflicts in their lives seem too overwhelming. True friends are just as good, if not better, than paid professional counselors.

Good thing even Emman share our sentiments that Maya’s acting like a too-good-to-be-true GF. Everything she does is to protect Ser Chief from hurting. Never mind if she’s pittied upon by other people who cares about her. All for the love of her “delicate” Ser Chief.

Nanay Teresita and Kute mother talk
I’m not gonna be ashamed to admit that I shed buckets during their conversation.
I think that this was the highlight of today’s episode. I felt Nanay Tere’s pain and love. All of a sudden I felt like going to San Nicolas and looking for that good for nothing Mang Arturo. It’s great that Kute was able to point out that Nanay Tere is a great mother and she could only hope to be half as good as her. But I understand Nanay Tere’s worry. Let’s face it, as much as we respect her for all that she continues to do for her kids, there’s always that fact that they’re not a complete family. There are certain things that only dads could give their children. Maya should have the option to go seek for his dad’s advice at this point in her life. Make sumbong about her situation too and feel protected by Mang Arturo. But as it is, he’s no where in sight. Maya is actually the type who’d be a daddy’s girl.
My wild imagination even went as far as having Mang Arturo appear in the show. Of course, tears will be shed and all that. Now when he finds out that his daughter is about to marry a middle-aged-man with three kids and a close-minded Don Roberto in tow, I wonder, will he even allow Ser Chief anywhere near Maya? I seriously doubt that.
At least Cho stopped RonRon’s bullying on his own. He didn’t need the help of Kute. A lesson to be learned is to stand up for what is right and not let anybody walk all over you.
Ser Chief should just leave his father alone for now. If he doesn’t like him having a serious relationship then he should just let DonR feel that way. The more he shows him that he’s affected, the more DonR will be stubborn. Ser Chief and Maya should just carry on with their relationship and in time DonR will learn to accept them. They’ve professed their love for each other against all odds, so they should let go for now. Ser Chief and Maya tried to make amends with DonR, but he’s resistant, so let him be.
As to the teaser, DonR excluded Maya from the reservation. The solution for that is very simple. They should all act nonchalant and ask the waiter to add another chair and place setting. Nobody discuss the omission, Ser Chief act normal and just smile Maya. DonR will not have the nerve to embarrass himself in front of his grandchildren by questioning why there’s an extra chair and setting. I don’t think he wants to be seen as a bad grandfather.
Cho and the bully-nggit Ron-ron
I’m glad to see Cho standing his ground ( Ser Chief, learn from him ). Just like any bully, Ron-ron turns out to be a weakling without his cohorts to back him up. What a loser kid. I hope that what Cho did earlier will be enough to scare Ron-ron away. Either that or Cho is up for more trouble.

Nikki and her worriesThis girl loves problems. When I say this I mean, she loves to solve and meddle with other people’s issues. However, when faced with her own problem, she freaks out and calls her Ate Maya. Oh well, I guess most teenagers act like her at one point. Niccolo is obviously attracted to her, but I don’t think he’ll have the guts to stick to his guns this early in their lives.
Usually when this phrase is uttered, it is done by an observer who essentially expresses personal thoughts based on what has effectively been witnessed between father and son. The observation primarily involves a close and comparative examination of the two individual’s behavior and mannerism i.e. the way they carry themselves, the way they think, the way they talk, even the way they walk. Only after putting them into such a scrutiny can one declare an honest opinion of the two. A careful recollection on how the two Lim men reacted when they initially met Maya proves this to be true. The son, Richard, the proverbial fruit, does not indeed fall too far from the proverbial tree, his father, Don Roberto.
Father and son prove that they definitely share common genes. Richard obviously inherited his Dad’s intelligence and business savvy. Both possess the acumen required to build their respective successful businesses. Moreover, both also share a stubborn streak which generally threatens their already relatively weak bond. Compromise is neither one’s strong suit and disagreements over opposing stance on the same issue contributes to a dichotomous relationship, a mutual love-hate feeling for each other. Furthermore, both share in their love of family, which fundamentally provide them the motivation and inspiration to strive to work harder.
Their similarities unfortunately include some negative traits, as well. They are similar in their initial reaction towards Maya. Both hold wrong preconceived notions about her. At the beginning of this story, Richard is quick to judge Maya. The latter has just heroically saved the former’s daughter from possibly getting hurt. In the airport scene, Abby makes the mistake of riding the airport baggage belt conveyor, unaware of the danger it poses. Quick-thinking Maya jumps unto the conveyor to provide protection for the little girl from being crushed by the weight of the haphazardly-thrown baggage loaded unto it. Instead of being appreciative of her valiant effort, Richard accuses Maya of attempted kidnapping. Only after reviewing the airport security’s close circuit television footage of the whole scenario does Richard finally drop the charges. Likewise, Don Roberto is quick to judge Maya. Although he has very little knowledge of Maya’s character, he swiftly deems her unworthy of Richard’s affection. He further advises his son not to take his girlfriend seriously and recommends that he dates other women, as well. He essentially glosses over Maya’s positive contribution to the family. In fact, both fail, initially, to acknowledge Maya’s kindness towards Abby, in Richard’s case, and to the family, in Don Roberto’s case.
Additionally, both men are distrustful. When Maya is subsequently employed as Abby’s nanny, suspicious Richard hires a private investigator to look into her background. Richard justifies his actions as an effort to safeguard his family. Similarly, doubtful Don Roberto asserts that Richard should consider securing his financial assets to ensure his children’s future, an act tantamount to stating that he utterly mistrusts Maya. Unbelievably, he feels that she has an ulterior motive in her romantic involvement with Richard. He strongly justifies his action as an act of protecting his family’s welfare.
As time went on, actually a couple of years after their fateful meeting, Richard slowly changes the way he interacts with Maya. He finally acknowledges Maya’s good intentions and love for his family. He now realizes her value not just to the children but to him, as well. She has primarily proven time and time again that she desires nothing less than Abby’s welfare. He cautiously starts trusting her, eventually grows fond of her, unwittingly develops an appreciation for her dedication to Abby and her studies, surprisingly cultivates a craving for her company and her coffee, quietly admires her intelligence and her indomitable spirit and finally falls deeply and madly in love with her. This whole process took two whole years.
In contrast, Don Roberto has not had the time to get to know Maya. Hence, his exposure to her has been limited. Therefore, he is ill-equipped to make any intelligent assessment about her personality and totally unqualified to make any pronouncements regarding her character. However, hopefully, in time, he too will come to know the woman that his son has come to love. In due time, Don Roberto will also learn to grow fond of her, appreciate her, admire her, respect her and ultimately fall in love with her. Eventually, the father will also share the same sentiments, with his son, for Maya. After all, they are substantially alike. Inherently, they are made up of the same fiber. Undeniably, the same blood courses through their veins. In the end, they are like father, like son!
The Preview
Just like most of you, I feel bad for Maya. It might not be deliberate from Don Roberto’s end to not include her in the reservation. After all, he said “the entire family” when he talked to Ser Chief. It was his son who assumed that Maya’s already included in the family.
It is so frustrating to see Maya give all the love and “protect” SC’s feelings when it should be the other way around. On the other hand, I do understand, hard as it may be, that the show is trying to portray a character that wants to balance everything and everyone in his life. To be a son, a father, a CEO, a boss and a boyfriend all at the same time is not easy and SC’s character is someone who doesn’t wear his heart on his sleeve and more on logical than romantic.
BUT THIS IS THE TIME TO SHOW SOME PASSION SER CHIEF!! The way things are going in the show, its not amiss to have some word war. Talk, scream, curse, fight! Ang hirap pag ang mga lalaki nag aaway. Hindi makapag usap. Puro matigas ang ulo. They don’t know how to get the idea across. Suntukan na lang kayo, sige!

Your analogy is briliantly written. Since the heading is listing the similarities “like father, like son” (positives and negatives as wel) the emphasis is rightfully justified. I can not help myself but to interject a couple of their dissimilar traits, the meaning of happines and priorities in life.

Looking back at Maya’s early relationship with SC, it was twice the hardship she’s going through now with DR kung hindi lang niya talaga crush si SC and of course her ambition to be an FA. Fortunately, SC is more delicate and generous when it comes to money matters. I hope I don’t dream of doing a “whack-a-mole” on DR tonight. I too have a love-hate relationship with SC and DR….I love SC and I love to hate DR.

At 25, Maya always think things through and seeks wisdom from her family, her source of strength and being grounded. Sir Chief is also grounded but he is carrying baggage from past experience from his father. Each of them have their strength and weakness and each responds to the need of the other automatically because they feel for each other. The attempt to reach out was adroitly maneuvered by the Don to seem as if he was accepting the lunch prepared for him. Only to be shown on the teaser that he would answer Sir Chief with “what steak?” Guessing game again, is it just to slight Maya or hurt Sir Chief. Since the next teaser is supposedly inviting the family for lunch, the Don is skillful in saying things that implies but not really explicit – the Don is playing a puppet masters game – that is so bad because it is playing with people’s feelings. I find this episode a cliffhanger yes, but it is on the negative side.
Dona Esmeralda, please make a stand and not allow this to continue…the father is hurting his only son, only child…..just because in his convoluted mind he keeps on saying he is just protecting the inheritance of his grandchildren…..Don R shame on you for using your grandchildren as an excuse. It is not just power play anymore….why is the Don even doing this things – does too much money make a monster out of the person forgetting to do what is right because it is the right thing to do….I don’t get it father and son? Is there that big gap that the father can do this to the son?
I like the father-daughter conversation so spontaneous and sweet……. Nikki you are growing everyday, now you are able to piece together and attune that something is off even if you still cannot understand the whole picture yet……
On the Nicolo tag along to Joey’s gig….I would hope that what Sir Chief told Nikki, what she is feeling now is only temporary, will be true…..for Nikki’s sake I do hope she gets turned off by Nicolo because if not, it will jeopardise the friendship of Luke and Nicolo. Enter Inigo……I hope you be a good friend to Nikki and Luke……….and of course, Nicolo – though Nicolo is already getting jealous with you Inigo.

Hot Wasabi, thanks..definitely DR does not inspire as it was difficult to come up with a review. I particularly love Cho’s dilemma but after all that put-downs from the bullylits and the long wait for it to be resolved, I felt that Cho still got the short end of the stick because his cellphone is damaged. I know it’s mean but I would have loved that punch to land on Ronron however that would have knocked him down like Pacquiao. Maybe it is not the end of Ronron yet.

Anyway, my fave scenes are the hangar scene and SC’s speech, the ulan scene……are we now on Book 2 coz it seems like umuulan na ang PDA ah. The ulan scene must be the sign to warn us of more PDA’s or pwede ding heartaches. Also, love the dinner scene at Gustav and the ” not everybody can tolerate your voice” scene and lastly, the way SC kissed Maya’s hand and wiped away her tears (twice ?) plus gently caressed her hair, (twice din yata!) at yesterday’s car scene. Haaaaaaaay! I really thought I was over my infatuation for SC na but after doing a marathon, parang I am in love with him all over again! Not even Don Roberto’s utter dislike for Maya can put a damper on my cloud 9 high right now, coz I know, just like any other roller coaster rides we’ve had from the past, I am sure the end result would still be a positive outcome.
Good move on Maya’s part I must say. The way to a man’s heart daw is thru his stomach. Yung nga lang, it looks like hindi kinain ni Don Roberto ang bistek ni Maya kaya tuloy, uninvited guest siya sa dinner with family. Sige lang Maya, kaya mo yan. You will win him over just like how you did everybody else.

The fathers seem to cast a cloud over our protagonists, SC and Maya. For some unknown reason, Maya’s father abandoned his family and simply disappeared. SC’s father on the otherhand, has this manic compulsion to accumulate wealth to the detriment of everything else in life that is truly essential.
While one father’s absence obliterated his influence on his children’s future, the other wants his presence felt even in the future. In both cases, both fathers, inadvertently perhaps, caused their children pain. One’s pain arising from a longing for a father who did not hold on; the other arising from a struggle with the father who cannot let go. Two sides of the same coin. Two sins of the same iniquity.
it is but fitting therefore, that these two souls (SC and Maya), should meet. For both have the strength and the wherewithal to shape their own future, write their own story and not be bound by the wounds inflicted by their fathers. In the end, it is their unconditional love for each other which will wash away the iniquities of their father’s sins.

Superb acting by Jodi and RY – no hysterics, just raw emotions. Crisp scriptwriting esp the car conversation in yesterday’s episode. Kaya lang, like many others, I too was disappointed by the non-continuity of SC’s wardrobe. So for that, 4 stars lang muna today, BCWMH. Emote na emote na kasi sana ako then na-distract ako with that oversight. Its as if the episode was haphazardly done. I still love you, by the way. You are still the best teleserye in my books.

He is there to teach them how to make confident decisions, to become responsible, to be respectful and to find fulfillment along the way. On top of all that, he loves them unconditionally. Fathers make a great impact in every aspect of his daughter’s life. Fathers model for their daughters how women should be treated, how men should act, and how a man shows healthy love and affection toward a woman. And perhaps most importantly he sets the standard for how his daughter feels she deserves to be treated by men.
It is evident that there is deep rooted anger between TOG (the old goat) and SC by the look of scowl in each others eyes and the smirk on TOG’s face when they turned to walk out the door after he refused the lunch they brought for him (he didn’t eat it, afraid that Maya may have put gayuma in it). There is anger and disappointment that has probably been repressed since Alex days, which we know little about, only that SC turned his back on them to fight for his love for Alex. Obviously, SC’s decision to marry Alex was nothing less than blissful, although cut short by her untimely death. They have 3 wonderful children and she was inspirational in building his business from the ground up.
TOG’s preoccupation with providing for material wealth for his family has made him an absent father, hence wealth has clouded his heart and mind from the real meaning of a father’s love, which is to see his son fulfilled and happy with the woman of his choice. He treats his son like a business partner holding him at arms length, that when he doesn’t get his way becomes hostile, which expresses conditional instead of unconditional love. To him it’s my way or the highway, there is no convincing this man. I guess its true that, “A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.” It’s profound, yet so true, that all the molding and convincing in the world won’t change anyone if he doesn’t want to be changed.
Nay T was saddened, by the mere fact that Maya was clueless on how to show affection to TOG. Her father’s disappearance is a mystery, and its unknown at what age Maya was, when he left. Although Maya is a confident, loving and happy woman, there is a hint of fear in her. Fear that she will lose yet another man that is near and dear to her heart. She has been judged unfairly but she is willing to do anything to patch things up between the two, so that she can see SC smile again. At this point, she has been beaten down and disrespected by TOG (I want to choke him) that she needs to step back and heal. Does SC not remember what Kute told him during their conversation in Simon’s kitchen, that Maya is new at this, and she will give until she empties of herself. There is no doubt that SC loves Maya, but he needs to put more effort in showing her how much he loves her. He needs to fix his relationship with his old goat of a father alone without Maya. Although, it’s obvious that life has changed for him TOG needs to hear it coming from his mouth and as we all pray that it will not fall on deaf ears.
Monday’s Episode
SC once again, puts Maya on the firing line, when he brings her to lunch arranged by TOG for the “whole family.” SC has good intentions, but he should have told TOG that he was bringing Maya with him and at least he would have known that Maya was not welcomed and not considered a “family” before they got to the restaurant. He could have spared her once again from the humiliation and this time in the presence of the children and maybe others in the restaurant.
Oh Maya my dear, you don’t deserve any of these, but how much will you take before you break? You need to go home to your family, like you did once when you were hurt, they will love you until you heal from all the hurt.
BCWMH, a heart wrenching episode that evokes the memory of a father’s love whether good or bad, nevertheless has great influence on our children.
I think it will all finally come to a head wherein SC will be forced to make a crucial decision. Di ba parang inimply ni Jimuel na make or break ang situation nila ngayon? Hmmmm, I seem to hear wedding bells ringing!!!!! Kasi puede naman sila magstatus quo as in, hintayin nila magbago ang isip ni DR or else, SC will really make a stand!!!

Seriously, its up to Ser Chief…he is the one who will live with Maya…..Maya is so selfless….she always thinks about the people whom she loves especially Ser Chief…love….love…love…a true love she has….I hope Don R will see this!…

Was it a snub? Yes. Was it intentional? Perhaps. Was it a devious plot? I hope not. Don R did invite the whole family out to lunch. Maya is considered family by all… except him. So knowing this… why didn’t Ser Chief and Dona E ask Don R if Maya, too, was invited? Poor Maya.
Joe e, you’re right. Act nonchalant and add another seat. We don’t want to make our Maya feel worse and the children embroiled in this distasteful tug-of-war. We don’t want them to blame Maya for the family discord, while Don R dangles their inheritance as his primary concern for his actions. While I personally do not believe that Don R will go that far, the omission of Maya (inadvertent or not), if not handled well, will raise questions that need answers.
On a lighter note, I’m happy to see that Cho is beginning to stand up against Ron2. This bullylit has to realize that everyone has their limits… he just crossed Cho’s. That was Papa Pards’ gift and that’s off the table. I’m glad Cho didn’t go through with the punch. It made him a far better man/kid for it.
And on an even lighter note, I have changed my mind. Since we may not need the horse for the may-not-push-through party, let’s all throw the horse at………….. Oops! GV, GV lang! Goodnight, all.
Now I am hoping that Dona Esmeralda requests for that extra chair and setting before her husband comes. Dona E, out-manuever your husband’s manipulations and stop letting him hurt your son.

You’re making excuses for SC, you must love him almost as much as Maya does… ha-ha-ha! History, however, dictates that SC should be wary of his father’s insensitivity. His father is like a bull wearing blinders (not a horse, mind you). By his own admission, nahihiya siya because Maya has been through so many pitfalls with his family thus his taking things for granted at this point is careless, not befitting his stature as CEO. I understand that he’s in love and love makes us do stupid things but if he trully wants to spare Maya more heartaches, then tread carefully. Just my opinion…

Good to see them having fun onstage. ok na talaga rapport nila even though sometimes they seem awkward, well the awkwardness adds charm naman sa loveteam nila. ang kulit ni jodi jan sa video. extra kulit siya compared sa other shows nila.
One thing na natuwa ako jan is yun about sa movie and about the continuation after the movie. this means tuloy tuloy ang saya!
Tama nga naman, ang dami pang pwedeng iexplore sa story – Maya’s career, yun insecurities ni sc (with his age and “excess bagggage” like he said sa pus date) , a possible third party for Maya, at marami pang iba. im enjoying the “bf-gf ” stage right now. kulang lang sa extra sweetness but tolerable na for me.
I hope they resolve the issue with don Roberto and the writers would deliver a good confrontation scene/ dialogue na hindi masyadong heavy but value-laden. Sabagay the writers never disappoint pa naman.
